Abstract

One way to know food self-sufficiency through the quality of food consumption diversity as measured by Food Harvest Scale (PPH) scores, hereinafter abbreviated as PPH. PPH can be used as a measure of nutritional balance and food diversity consumed by residents in a region. The maximum PPH score, 100 indicates the diverse food consumption situation and both the composition and quality of nutrition (Baliwati, 2011). In practice, the achievement of food quality and quantity indicator in Bandung Regency has not been achieved. This study aims to determine the size of family, education level, and income level of PPH in Bandung regency. The basic method of this research is the explanatory method (Eksplanatory Research). The determination of Paseh and Pasirjambu sub-districts was conducted by purposive sampling, which is determined by the highest and lowest kecamatan PPH. Furthermore the size of respondents using Slovin techniques. To know the factors that influence the PPH in Bandung regency using multiple regression analysis technique and the test is done by using SPSS 20 program. The result of the research shows that the family size, education level and income level have positive influence on PPH Kabupaten Bandung. This means that the higher the size of the family, the level of education and income level then the higher the PPH in Bandung regency.

Abstract

Coffee shop X dan coffee shop Y Jatinangor merupakan sebuah coffee shop dalam bentuk franchise. Berdasarkan brand, coffee shop X lebih terkenal dibandingkan brand coffee shop Y. Harapan berdasarkan brand penjualan coffee shop X lebih unggul dibandingkan coffee shop Y, tetapi pada kenyataanya justru sebaliknya, sehinggan munculah gap. Diperlukan penelitian untuk melihat posisi coffee shop X jatinangor terhadap coffee shop Y Jatinangor yang dinilai oleh konsumen  dengan analisis benchmarking. Desain dalam penelitian ini ialah kualitatif dengan teknik studi kasus. Metode analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis benchmarking yang dipadukan dengan Quality of Deployment (QFD). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa posisi coffee shop X Jatinangor dinilai terdapat empat atribut persyaratan pelanggan dan empat atribut persyaratan teknik yang berada dibawah coffee shop Y Jatinangor dan perlu untuk ditingkatkan lagi.

Abstract

Iroet Tea is a dry tea trademark owned by Koperasi Serba Usaha (KSU) Putera Mekar. Iroet tea products have been certified UTZ number two in the world and number one in Indonesia related to good plantation practices, good tea processing, environmental social issues, food safety, and quality improvement. Iroet Tea earned UTZ certificates in 2011 and 2013, but currently does not receive the certification, because there are many violations of the standard production procedures, so please note what violations that occur during the production process. The research design used in this research is qualitative with case study technique. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. KSU Putera Mekar has set the standard opertaion procedure since the process of picking shoots until dry tea processing process, so that if farmers and workers follow the standard procedure, then Iroet tea products produced will be good quality and get UTZ certificate. But many violations Iroet tea standard operation  procedures, from picking tea shoots, shoots at the shelter collecting the results, to the processing of dried tea is done at the factory. The results showed that there were many violations during the process of supplying raw materials to the production process, the violations committed in the form of non compliance with standard operation procedures and agreements related to raw materials needed, the process of gathering raw materials, and processing of dry tea.   Keywords: production, quality control, standard operation procedure, tea

Abstract

KSU Putera Mekar is the first cooperative to own a tea processing factory directly managed by smallholder tea farmers and produce dried tea products called Iroet tea. The beginning of Iroet Tea factory, they sell their products to PT Sariwangi AEA (Agricultural Estate Agency) and other small companies such as Agriwangi and Elinkindo, but it does not go long. PT Sariwangi broke his contract with the cooperative so that the cooperative did not have a large customer anymore. Cooperative members are decreasing because the cooperative is unable to absorb wet tea tops from farmers and can not afford to pay farmers with pay-weight system, but the agro-industry business still survives. This makes the cooperative requires the chronological know the main cause of bad business cooperatives and the reasons for cooperatives to survive. The research design used in this research is qualitative with case study technique. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the main cause of bad business cooperatives is the loss of large consumers and the absence of bailout funds. The reason for the cooperative still persists to this day because the cooperative management has a good orientation to improve the business of Iroet tea agroindustry, supported by the loyalty of cooperative members.   Keywords: agroindustry, cooperatives, loyalty, smallholder tea farmer

Abstract

The tea plantation area in Indonesia is still dominated by tea smallholder estate of 45,17%. This is accompanied also by the growing number of tea agroindustry which increased by 0,83% based on data from the ministry of industry period 2007 to 2013. One of the tea  agroindustry that still survive is tea  smallholder processing unit of Barokah Farmer Group in Lebak Muncang Village, District Ciwidey Regency Bandung. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors of the tea  smallholder processing units of Barokah Farmer Group. The technique used in this research is case study with the informants include the management of the in tea smallholder processing units in Barokah Farmer Group, the government agency of Bandung Plantation Office. The technique of data collection is done by observation, in-depth interview and documentation. The analysis tools used are IFE Analysis (internal factors evaluation) and EFE (external factor evaluation). The results showed that tea  smallholder agro industry of Barokah Farmer Group has a strong internal position where the strengths that have been able to cover the weakness well but have not been able to exploit the opportunities optimally and become very vulnerable to the threat of competition so that tea  smallholder agro industry of Barokah Farmer Group is weak in facing the dynamics of the external environment.   Keywords: agroindustry, tea smallholder, tea processing unit

Abstract

Agroindustry tea smallholder who still survive until now in the area of Bandung Regency, namely agroindustry tea small holder Farmer of Group Barokah in the Village of Lebak Muncang, Subdistrict Ciwidey. This agroindustry persisted, although experiencing various problems, among others: a) have not received help from the government for the factory, the processing machine is limited, b) the lack of supply of raw materials, c) unmet condition of factory hygiene, d) no SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) written, e) the distribution of products is limited, f) marketing is not yet wide, and g) the presence of new competitors who buy raw materials higher. The purpose of this study is to describe several factors determining the sustainability of agroindustry tea small holder. The research technique was conducted through case study. The determination of informant is done purposively that is: staff of the department of agriculture, vice chairman of Farmers Group, manager agroindustry tea folk, farmer suppliers. Secondary data is collected from: documents in related institutions and journals. Data and information obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that several factors determining the sustainability of agroindustry tea small holderGroups of Farmers Barokah is:  a) good product quality, b) the existence of grading process, c) the availability of raw materials continue, because the form of farmer, d) workers with a solid sense of family, e) finance is able to hire employees and buy raw materials in cash, f) customer loyalty, g) areas supportive for tea business activities, and h) promotional assistance from local government.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara pendapatan petani yang mengakses kredit lembaga keuangan formal dan informal. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Nganjuk. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive Sampling. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebnayak 100 petani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit lembaga keuangan formal dan informal. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan analisis kuantitatif. Analisis data menggunakan analisis matematik untuk mengetahui perbedaan pendapatan petani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit ke lembaga keuangan formal dan informal. Analisis statistik menggunakan Independent Sampel T Test, untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan pendapatan petani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit pada lembaga keuangan formal dan informal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan rata-rata pendapatan petani bawang merah yang mengakses lembaga keuangan formal sebesar Rp. 35.852.746,43 per musim tanam, sedangkan rata-rata pendapatan petani bawang merah yang mengakses lembaga keuangan informal sebesar Rp. 16.317.527,62 per musim tanam. Perbedaan pendapatan disebabkan oleh luas lahan yang ditanami oleh petani dan jumlah produksi bawang merah dan berdasarkan analisis perbedaan (Komparasi) pendapatan usahatani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit ke lembaga keuangan formal dan informal dengan uji beda dengan hasil Fhitung lebih besar dari Ftabel dan Thitung lebih besar dari Ttabel dengan signifikan 0,00, dengan keputusan tolak Ho terima H1, artinya terdapat perbedaan nyata antara usatani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit ke lembaga keuangan formal dan informal

Abstract

Lettuce head as a vegetable commodity has a high enough business opportunity, seen from the developmentof hotels and restaurants in Indonesia that serve foreign cuisine using lettuce. The purpose of this study wasto determine the feasibility of lettuce head farming in CV.Cantigi. This research was carried out inCV.Cantigi, Cikandang village, Cikajang District, Garut Regency. The design of this research is descriptivequantitative with the research technique is a case study The method of data collection is done by interviewswith informants, observations, and literature studies. The determination of the informant was carried outpurposive. Analysis of the data used is non-financial feasibility and financial feasibility (Net Present Value,Internal Rate of Return, Net Benefit/Cost Ratio, Payback Period, and Profitability Ratio). The results showedthat 1) The income of lettuce head farming in CV.Cantigi in one growing season is IDR 120.821.846; 2) Thelettuce head farming in CV. Cantigi is feasible in terms of market aspects, technical aspects, managementaspect, and social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects. Similarly, financially, lettuce headfarming in CV.Cantigi is feasible to do with an NPV value of IDR 286,076,736.8, IRR 51,87%, Net B/C Ratiois 4.32, Payback period occurs at 8 years 8 months and profitability ratio of 101.78%. Suggestions forfurther research there is further research on production technologies that can optimize the use of otherproduction factors to increase production results.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat motivasi petani muda dalam menerapkan teknik budidaya padi sawah organik dengan metode SRI, serta mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan motivasi petani muda tersebut dalam penerapan teknik budidaya padi sawah organik dengan metode SRI. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kelompok Tani Mekar Sari IV, Desa Ciapus, Kecamatan Banjaran, Kabupaten Bandung, Jawa Barat. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan secara sensus terhadap petani muda anggota kelompok tani tersebut yang menerapkan teknik budidaya padi sawah organik dengan metode SRI, yang berjumlah 30 orang. Desain penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dengan ditunjang data kuantitatif untuk menyatakan hubungan antara faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal petani muda dengan motivasinya untuk menerapkan teknik budidaya padi sawah tersebut. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan korelasional, serta dilakukan uji korelasi Tau B-Kendall untuk mengolah data kuantitatif yang diperoleh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat motivasi petani muda untuk menerapkan teknik budidaya padi sawah tersebut tergolong kategori tinggi. Faktor internal petani muda yang berhubungan nyata terhadap motivasinya dalam menerapkan teknik budidaya padi sawah tersebut adalah umur petani, pendidikan non formal dan akses informasi, sedangkan faktor eksternalnya adalah ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana produksi, serta karakteristik inovasi teknik budidaya padi sawah tersebut.  Kata kunci: motivasi, petani muda, padi organik, metode SRI ABSTRACT This research aimed to identify level of young farmer’s motivation and discover factors related to the motivation of young farmers at implementing organic wet paddy cultivation technique with SRI method. This research is held in Kelompok Tani Mekar Sari IV, Desa Ciapus, Kecamatan Banjaran, Kabupaten Bandung, Jawa Barat.  Data in this research obtained with sensus technique to 30 members in young age of Kelompok Tani Mekar Sari IV. Desain of this research is qualitative, supported by quantitative data to state relation between internal and external factors of young farmers in their motivation to implement organic wet paddy cultivation technique used. This research applies descriptive technique with correlational approach. Correlaton Tau B-Kendall test is used to process quantitative data obtained. The result of this research shows level of young farmers motivation to implement organic wet paddy cultivation technique with SRI method is classified in high category. The internal factors of young farmers that significantly correlate to their motivation in implementation of organic wet paddy cultivation technique with SRI method are farmer’s age, non formal education, and information access. The external factors of young farmers that significantly correlate to their motivation in implementation of organic wet paddy cultivation technique with SRI method are the availability of farming facilities, and the characteristics of innovation.                                                                                                              Keywords: motivation, young farmers, organic paddy, SRI method
