Abstract

Non-infectious diseases are now the dominant cause of deaths in Indonesia and the numbers are increasing each year. One of the causes of these non-infectious diseases is unhealthy consumption patterns, such as consuming a massive amount of fast foods. Increased awareness within the general public especially the millennial generation about the importance of health is shown through the emergence of a sense of caring for a healthy life by consuming organic food. Organic foods that are mostly found today are organic vegetables, which have an important role for health, thus they are often consumed as a complement to staple foods. Based on these issues, this study aims to determine how willing are the millennials to pay for organic vegetables at Warung Sehat 1000 Kebun. This study is conducted through quantitative research and survey methods using questionnaires as the instrument to conduct interviews. The analysis method used in this study is the validity test, reliability test, descriptive statistical analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). The results showed that the factors that most influenced the willingness of consumers who created millennials were psychological factors, which significantly affected consumers' willingness to consume organic vegetables.

Abstract

The impact of climate change on the agricultural sector, especially rice, has been very pronounced. Rice farmers in Indonesia who are mostly small farmers, are certainly the first to be affected by the risks of climate change. The study aims to analyze and compare the level of climate change hazard, vulnerability and risk to rice farmers in West Java and East Java. This study used a total of 600 farmers from West Java and East Java who were determined using a multistage stratified random sampling technique. The data analysis technique used was the analysis model for the climate change hazard, vulnerabilityy and risk level and the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that rice farmers in West Java had a significantly greater level of climate change hazards than rice farmers in East Java, but the level of climate change vulnerability for rice farmers in West Java is significantly lower than that of rice farmers in East Java. The results of climate change risk level analysis show that there is no significant difference between West Java and East Java farmers in terms of the level of climate change risk. Both have low to moderate levels of climate change risk.

Abstract

Environmental and food security issues has caused organic farming practice to grow globally, including in Indonesia. One of the problems in Indonesia’s organic farming is the cost of organic certification as well as it’s long process. As a solution to this problem, Komunitas Organik Indonesia took an initiative to form a curration program called White Flower Label to guarantee that their member’s products are indeed organic. This study uses quantitative design and a survey method using questionnaire. The sample size used was 30 respondents. The technique used is explanatory, to explain how product knowledge (X1), community-assessed organic label (X2), and information seeking behaviour (X3) influence purchase intention (Y). The results shows that only information seeking behaviour (X3) has a significant effect on purchase intention, while product knowledge (X1) and community-assessed organic label doesn’t have any significant effect.

Abstract

The issue of feeder cattle import policy requires feedlots to carry out breeding which requires a long time. Limitations of cages and the risk of breeding business for feedlots, as well as limited capital and technology for cattle breeders are the basis for the partnership between feedlots and breeders. The purpose of this research are to analyze the effectiveness of the community cattle breeding partnership in South Lampung Regency. The research method that will be used is a survey method to be precise in the 2 biggest cattle breeding centers, namely Sidomulyo and Tanjungsari Districts, South Lampung Regencies. The effectiveness ratio uses a simple statistical method of comparison between the realization and the target. Furthermore, the effectiveness criteria refer to the Ministry of Home Affairs Research and Development. The results and discussion show that the implementation of the community cattle breeding partnership program in South Lampung Regency in terms of input is quite effective with an effectiveness ratio of 82.5%. In terms of process and output, the implementation of the partnership has been effectively carried out, namely 90.6% and 92%.
