Abstract

Garut Regency currently has the position as the largest tomato producer in West Java. The large amount of tomato production encourages a fairly broad marketing that involves a lot of marketing actors. This study aims to determine the market structure, the behavior of marketing actors, and the performance of the tomato commodity market in Garut Regency. This research was conducted in 4 districts with the largest tomato production in Garut district, namely Cikajang, Cisurupan, Cigedug and Paisrwangi. The samples taken in this research were 40 farmers and tracked the marketing of tomatoes using the snowball sampling technique. The data analysis methods used are market concentration analysis, minimum scale efficiency analysis, descriptive qualitative analysis of market behavior, and marketing margin analysis and farmer's share. The results showed that the sales ratio of 8 large tomato traders was weakly concentrated which led to monopolistic competition. There are barriers to entry to this tomato commodity market. Market behavior shows that most marketing activities are selling, buying, transporting and utilizing price information among marketing actors. The majority of the sorting and grading activities are only carried out by collector trader and wholesaler. The greatest marketing risk management occurs in farmers and retailers. Marketing margin analysis shows that the highest marketing margin occurs when tomatoes are sold for market destinations outside the island, and the lowest marketing margin occurs when tomatoes are marketed for industrial purposes. The results of farmer's share analysis show that the highest share received by farmers is when selling tomatoes for industrial needs, this happens because of the short marketing chain and the selling price for the industry is contractually above the market price.

Abstract

This research was carried out at the Center for Dairy Cattle and Forage Animal Feed, the Department of Food Security and Animal Husbandry, West Java Province. The purpose of this study is to identify potential revenues and costs from the production of dairy cow breeds and milk production from the Center for Dairy and Forage Cattle Development, and to identify potential opportunities for centers to become BLUDs based on their financial capabilities. The data used are secondary data from the center. The analysis method used in this research is the method of financial analysis which focuses on the net present value (NPV) and the internal rate of return (IRR) to see the business feasibility of this center. The results of this study indicate that dairy cows have not been used optimally but in this analysis, the capacity of the cowshed is used optimally. The projected investment and operational costs reach Rp. 16.8 billion and Rp. 3 billion, respectively. The projected revenue has a potential of more than IDR 5 billion per year. The results of the feasibility analysis show that the NPV value is IDR 237 million and an IRR of 12.24%. The Center for Dairy Cattle and Forage Forage can be upgraded to BLUD based on the criteria of the feasibility study.

Abstract

Vegetables is one of the leading commodities because it has high economic value. Vegetable consumption is needed by the body as one of the sources of vitamins, minerals and fiber in achieving a healthy diet in accordance with the recommendations of balanced nutrition guidelines to obtain optimal health. Casa Farm Hydroponics is one of the producers of hydroponic vegetables from Bandung that has been established since 2014. In the face of competition for services becomes a very important things, because the service that is not maximal can reduce the number of consumers. Therefore, improved service quality is needed in an effort to attract consumers to buy vegetables at Casa Farm Hydroponics. This research was conducted by distributing 35 questionnaires and carried out calculations by Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method. IPA method aims to determine the value of interest level and performance level of Casa Farm hydroponic vegetable attributes. CSI method that aims to know the overall level of customer satisfaction. From the calculation of  IPA method in Cartesian Diagram of 13 attributes there are 5 attributes that require improvement and improvement, namely attributes number 7, 9, 10, 11, and 13. The calculation result of  CSI method in Casa Farm hydroponic vegetable attribute scored by 89%, the score is in a scale range of 81% < CSI ≤ 100% which means that the respondent's consumer satisfaction level belongs to the category of very satisfied.

Abstract

According to BPS data (2018), horticultural export volume for the January-December 2018 period had increased about 10% compared to that of 2017. This increase in volume is largely influenced by fresh vegetable exports from West Bandung which reaches 1,500 tons on that year. Supported by local and center government, wide and fertile land in Lembang area, Gapoktan Wargi Panggupay, cultivates baby beans as a superior commodity to meet the demand for baby beans from abroad. The problem often faces by baby bean farmers is in continuity of quantity supplied with export-quality. The purpose of this study is to describe the possible cause of the unfulfilled demand for baby beans by Gapoktan Wargi Panggupay. The aim of this research is the find the root cause why Gapoktan Wargi Panggupay is not always able to meet the demand. The research conducted in Kampung Gandok RT 01 RW 15 Suntenjaya Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. The research design used is a qualitative design with a case study research technique. The data used are primary data and secondary data obtained from in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and literature. Researchers used qualitative analysis methods with descriptive approaches and fishbone diagrams to find the root of the problem. The results of this study reveal that the root cause of the problem are: (1) farmers perceive the implementation of SOP for baby bean cultivation to be complicated, (2) use of traditional agricultural tools, (3) dry and rainy seasons.

Abstract

Agro tourism is tourism sector development form which changes by the times. Cultivation activities coupled with agricultural land and activities can be used as the way to develop related sector. Horticultural seed center (BBH) as a regional technical unit under Department of Agriculture has a plan to optimize the institution’s role and function through the agricultural edutourism project by seeing the potential and uniqueness of tourist-destination of Garut Regency. The institution’s operational activities faced with budget problem, limited human resoureces in terms of number and competencies, also the existence of inadequate facilities and infrastucture. Those things can affect the productivity and hinder project realization. This study aims to identify supporting and obstacle factors that influence to agro-edutourism project in BBH. The research using a qualitative methods and case study techniques to expolate various data according to object’s condition. The data were obtained from observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies, then analyzed by using IFAS and EFAS matrices and it can be taken into consideration for the project. The driving factors are : condition of supportive resources, the concept is oriented towards education, there are no competitors yet,  commitment and support form stakeholders, and agricultural sector still dominates economic activity. The inhibiting factors are : inadequate planning with main task and function, limited resources, high dependency on government, leader’s changing affects on project completion, lack of socialization by BBH to the community, also the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Sweet potato is a non-rice carbohydrate source that is highly nutritious and has a great potential as a support for food development. Sumedang Regency is one of the centers of sweet potato production in Indonesia, where the most popular sweet potatoes are those from Cilembu Village. This study aims to analyze (1) The channels and functions of sweet potato marketing in Cilembu Village. (2) Marketing margin, farmer’s share, and profit ratio and marketing cost of sweet potato in Cilembu Village. The selection of the research object was carried out purposively with the consideration that the research location was one of the sweet potato centers wich had its characteristics and were different from other regions. Respondents in this study were 20 farmers who were used as material to provide answers related to research taken on purpose (purposive) and 3 wholesalers, 3 small traders, and 4 middlemen taken by a snowball. The informants taken in this study were the head of the farmer group and the owner of the sweet potato processing industry. The analysis used in this research is descriptive. The result showed that (1) There were 4 marketing channels for sweet potatoes from farmers to the end consumers where there were 4 marketing institutions involved namely middlemen, wholesalers, small traders, and processing industries. The marketing function carried out by farmers in an exchange function and facilitating function, while the marketing function carried out by middlemen, large traders, small traders, and processing industries is an exchange function, a physical function, and a facility function.; (2) Judging from the value of the marketing margin, farmer’s share, and the R/C value of th the first, second, and fourth channels have achieved optimal performance. Meanwhile in the third channel, it has not achieved optimal performance because it has a low farmer’s share value even though the value of the marketing margin and R/C is quite high.

Abstract

Mining activities not only cause impacts that occur at the mine site but also the surrounding environment, so that reclamation is needed. This study aims to describe the community's perception of the existence of Kampoeng Air Jangkang Reclamation and to describe the socio-economic impact of the community on the existence of the Jangkang Water Reclamation Kampoeng. This research was conducted from September 2019 to September 2020 in Riding Panjang Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency. The method used in this research is a survey method. Meanwhile, the sampling method used in this study was purposive sampling. The number of samples taken in this study were 93 samples from the people of Riding Panjang Village. The analytical method used is a qualitative descriptive method with a Likert scale. The results showed that the community's perception of the ex-mining land as Kampoeng Reclamation was strongly agreed with an index number of 82.4 percent covering the pre-reclamation stages, 81.4 percent covering the implementation of Kampoeng Reclamation development and an index figure of 88.8 percent covering the success of Kampoeng development. Reclamation. The social impacts that occur include positive impacts both on environmental conditions and the safety of the communities around the reclamation area. The resulting economic impact is a positive impact on people's income and employment.

Abstract

Currently empowerment program has become a mission of religion community organizations in Indonesia. As non government element and non business oriented organization it is necessary to know performance of empowerment programs based of farmer participation level. With a quantitative descriptive research approach using questionnaire in collecting of data survey were obtained 75 respondents taken with purposive sampling technique in Bandung Regency. Based results of cumulative calculations, known that farmer participation in empowerment program into middle category for socialization activity and low category for implementation activity of programs. Chi square pearson’s and gamma test known were farmer age has positively correlated to participation in activity of program implementing, meanwhile education, income, and farmer status has negatively correlated to farmer participation for avtivity implementation of programs. Farmer characteristic has correlated to participation required by ormas before conducting of empowerment program as a strategic to success of program likely participatory.

Abstract

The government has spent a lot of money on fertilizer subsidies. However, from the results of various studies, there are still many problems in its implementation. Therefore, research to determine the effectiveness of fertilizer subsidies is interesting. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of fertilizer subsidies. This research was conducted in Sukaasih Village, Sukatani District, Bekasi Regency. The research sample was determined by the multistage sampling method which resulted in a sample of 109 farmers. The data that has been obtained were analyzed using frequency distribution analysis. The results showed that the implementation of the fertilizer subsidy policy in Sukaasih Village was not effective. Therefore, the government needs to ensure the acceleration and mitigation of barriers to implementing farmer cards in the regions can be a solution so that fertilizer subsidies can be effective.

Abstract

Agricultural goods which include capital goods can be in the form of money, land, fertilizer, investment in machinery. Credit acts as a capital increase to finance production inputs so that producers can increase their products at a higher level, chili is one of the commodities that have bright prospects to increase farmers' income. in the area. The sampling technique using the accidental sampling technique is a sampling technique based on chance, ie anyone who meets by chance with the researcher can be used as a sample, if the farmer met is suitable as a data source Because the population is too large and the author has limited time, funds, and energy, the sample in this study was deliberately determined, namely 30 respondents from all cayenne pepper farmers who use credit for their agriculture. The analysis technique is carried out using multiple linear regression analysis, where the data is processed using SPSS. The results of this study indicate the regression coefficient of equity (X1) -493 has a negative effect on changes in income levels, but not significant. The regression coefficient for agricultural credit loans (X2) 566 has a positive and significant effect on changes in income levels. From the results of the calculation of the regression coefficient of land area (X3) 183,866 that the magnitude of the influence of the independent variable X3 (land area) on changes in the income level of chili farmers has a positive effect. The conclusion of this study is that chili farmers who make credit loans are expected to build or increase the income and welfare level of their debtors from the agricultural sector.
