Abstract

Kertas kerja ini akan menganalisis secara kritis kata leksikal sebagai entri kamus yang mendukung  konsep makna rendah dan tinggi yang terdapat dalam kamus kedua-dua buah negara. Makna rendah merujuk kepada maksud makna yang biasa seperti cerdik dengan maksud yang mudah mengerti atau licik  manakala  makna tinggi pula dikaitkan dengan makna amalan agama seperti  cerdik dengan makna tinggi sebagai orang yang mengingati mati. Adakah bangsa yang serumpun dengan agama yang sama memperlihatkan persamaan dari segi makna rendah dan tinggi dalam kamus masing-masing? Kajian tentang isu ini masih baharu. Sanat (1998), (2015) dan (2016) membincangkan aspek ini dari pelbagai sudut, termasuklah hal yang berhubung dengan perbandingan kamus Kitab Pengetahuan Bahasa yang diusahakan oleh Raja Ali Haji pada pertengahan abad ke-19 dengan Kamus Dewan, dan perspektif pengguna tentang makna rendah dan tinggi dari pelbagai lapis masyarakat. Kajian ini menggunakan kerangka teori gabungan antara kerangka teori semantik leksikal melalui Model Semantik Paling Luas yang mengambil kira amalan agama dengan Model Wacana Mega. Model semantik dan wacana  ini merupakan turunan daripada ‘Teori’Atqakum Sanat (2005). Kertas kerja ini diharap dapat mengemukakan  dapatan perbandingan  tentang makna rendah dan tinggi dan manfaatnya dalam usaha memartabatkan kamus  masing-masing sesuai dengan perkembangan masyarakatnya.Kata kunci: kata leksikal, makna rendah, makna tinggi, semantik leksikal, semantik wacana

Abstract

This article is motivated by my previous research. Based on the fact, it can be said that this kind of innovation in model learning is very potential to be used in schools. This study is  quasi-experimental research aimed to identify differences in the effect of each model of learning on students’ learning achievement. The study used subjects from the whole population of the Tenth Grader sof high schools in Magetan in the academic year of 2016/2017. Those samples were chosen through stratified cluster random sampling. The data in the study were collected using test, questionnaire, and documentation, and then, were analyzed using Lilliefors, Barlett, and one way ANOVA (pre-requisite tests) and one way ANOVA (Hypotheses test). Based on the hypotheses test result that mathematics learning achievement of the tenth graders of public high school in Magetan who were treated with Mind Mapping-based NHT have better achievement than Mind Mapping-based TPS or Mind Mapping-based direct and Mind Mapping-based TPS have better achievement than Mind Mapping-based direct. Keywords: Number Head Together (NHT), Think Pair Share (TPS) Mind Mapping, Quadratic Function.

Abstract

Kesepakatan pemberlakuan MEA 2015 merupakan salah satu kesempatan untuk mengaktualisasikan jati diri Indonesia di mata dunia. Di samping perekonomian sebagai sektor utamanya, bahasa dan budaya merupakan ranah yang akan turut terimbas oleh adanya Era MEA. Sebagai negara dengan populasi yang cukup besar dan konsumtif, Indonesia merupakan pasar yang besar dan menjanjikan bagi produsen luar. Melihat kesempatan tersebut, negara-negara di ASEAN akan tertarik untuk mempelajari bahasa dan budaya Indonesia agar mampu bersaing di pasar Indonesia. Sebaliknya, Indonesia sebagai tuan rumah harus memiliki persiapan yang serius untuk menghadapi persaingan tersebut. Salah satu langkah nyata yang dapat dilakukan yaitu upaya pengenalan budaya lokal melalui jalur pengajaran Bahasa Indonesia Bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA). Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa selaku pengemban tugas pemelihara bahasa Indonesia telah menyusun bahan ajar berbasis teks yang diperuntukkan bagi pelajar BIPA dari tingkat pemula hingga tingkat mahir. Salah satunya mengenai teks eksplanasi yang sangat memungkinkan untuk diintegrasikan materi ajarnya dengan kebudayaan lokal. Penggunaan budaya lokal sebagai materi ajar BIPA adalah langkah konkrit yang dapat berfungsi sebagai: (1) pengenalan budaya lokal Indonesia terhadap penutur asing, (2) pengembangan wawasan keindonesiaan bagi penutur asing, dan (3) aktualisasi jati diri dan peningkatan eksistensi Bahasa dan Bangsa Indonesia di lingkup Internasional. Kata kunci: Era MEA, BIPA, Teks Eksplanasi, Budaya Lokal, Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Asean Economic Community (AEC) provide challenges and opportunities towards the progress of the nation. However, the AEC also had an impact on the degradation of character. Indonesia is a rich country local wisdom and biodiversity. Those elements is the principal element which interrelated to each other. As well as thats happends in the Gondang village slopes of Mount Ungaran, Central Java where the community maintain biodiversity through local wisdom. However, nowadays many happends character degradation of society on the slopes of Mount Ungaran, Gondang villages, so that impact on the degradation of biodiversity on Mount Ungaran. It is due to the large number of young people who leave the values of local wisdom and concern about the Biodiversity is diminshing. This is a threat to the sustainability of local wisdom and biodiversity at Mount Ungaran, remembers the importance of both these elements in the preservation of ecosystems, as well as the strengthening the character of nation identity through local wisdom. To maintain continuity, the characteristics of local wisdom and biodiversity on the slopes of Mount ungaran in confront of AEC, so required the existence of a significant stepin addressing the problem. One of the is through educational programs for love biodiversity which is an educational program that aims to educate children around the forest or region with the highest biodiversity with the aim to foster the cultural characters of local wisdom as well as improving the character of biodiversity (preserving biodiversity character). The concept of the program is education by utilizing the natural environtment. Students are invited to explore the natural environtment and local wisdom. The purpose of the program is the presence generations love biodiversity-based on local wisdom. Then biodiversity will remain awake and local wisdom will be a character in each student's and identity of nation in confront AEC.Keywords: biodiversity, local wisdom. The character of biodiversity. Abstract

This study is aimed at investigating the lecturers’ perceptions of need for the teaching of character development for the fourth semester students at the English Literature Study Program of UNISSULA. There were two aspects being investigated; the perception of need for character development itself  and those on character traits that the students were presumed to lack. A survey was done involving all 24 lecturers at the faculty as the respondents. A need analysis was resulted from the description of the survey results. Sets of questionnaire using Lickerts scale were distributed to the sample. The survey resulted the facts that most of the lecturers perceived that (1) teaching a subject means promoting both cognitive skills and social ones, (2) character development is as important as the English communicative competences, (3) character development needs to be paid more attention to at the department, (4) one of the best way in developing the students’ character is by integrating the teaching of character development into the syllabus. The lecturers also perceived that there were only seven character traits of the students requiring more attention to develop. The respondents tended to agree that the students of the department lacked the traits of self-discipline, perseverance, creativity, independence, curiosity, communicativeness, knowledge-ability, and responsibility. Keywords: perception, need, character development

Abstract

 The presence of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015 is the free market that provides the opportunity to continue to innovate and enhance creativity so that they can compete in the global competition. These opportunities provide an opportunity for the development of creative industries based languages namely literature. The literary work is the result of human creativity will be full of ideas, feelings and messages. The literary work has similarities with the creative industries which are both based on the work of human creativity and full of cultural nuances. However, both have differences on the process of creation, literary works were created for the sake of form and literary interests while the creative industries are created based on the needs of the market both as a representation of culture as well as entertainment media. This study aims to identify the role of literature as one of the creative industry products to ASEAN Economic Community. It is a qualitative study that relates some theories in the role of a literary work as a product of the creative industries to the ASEAN Economic Community. The data were collected by library research. The findings showed that; 1). The literary work has an important role as a cultural product that is capable of being a cultural ambassador in ASEAN, 2). Literary works such as novels and movies is a language-based creative industry product as potential commodities that were able to take good advantage of foreign exchange for the country as well as royalties for its creators, 3). Literary product such as novels and movies as entertainment products are able of providing promising business opportunities in ASEAN.Keywords: Asean economic community, creative industry, literary work

Abstract

The research was a quasi-experimental research with a factorial design 2 x 3 aims to determine the comparison of Team Assisted Individualization – Guided Note Taking (TAI-GNT) and Think Pair Share - Guided Note Taking (TPS-GNT) viewed from Adversity Quotient for students’ mathematics achievement. The population of this research were all of Junior High School Students 8th grade in Magetan Regency schools in academic year 2016/2017 whom applied KTSP curriculum. The sampling techniques was taken by using stratified cluster random sampling. The data was collected by using methods of documentation, questionnaires on students AQ, and mathematics achievement test. The analysis data technique used two-ways analysis of variance with unbalanced cells, with significance level was 0.05. Based on the study result, it could be concluded that : (1) TAI-GNT learning model made better mathematics learning achievement than TPS-GNT learning model, (2) Climber students got better mathematics learning achievement than Camper students and Quitter students, while Camper students got better mathematics learning achievement than Quitter students, (3) for every learning model, climber student got better mathematic learning achievement than Camper students and Quitter students, while Camper student got better mathematic learning achievement than Quitter student, (4) for every categories AQ, TAI-GNT learning model made better mathematics learning achievement than TPS-GNT learning model.Keywords: Adversity Quotient (AQ), Guided Note Taking (GNT), Mathematics Learning Achievement, Relation and Function, Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), Think Pair Share (TPS)

Abstract

Language is the most important instrument for humans to make a communication. Along with the development of the era, language also changes and has many varieties. There are many varieties of language development used in the daily life. One of the varieties of language is slang words. Slang word means nonstandard words made by the modern community and usually used by young people in certain condition. Slang word often found in the daily conversation or literary work like movie, novel, even song. This study will discuss about slang word that found in literary work especially in the song. Since song is one of the literary work that can influence the use of language in the daily life. In this case, this paper would analyze slang word found in the lyrics of Far East Movement Songs using Sociolinguistic approach. Also how the song affect in the use of slang word in the daily life. This study uses descriptive qualitative method. The data collected from the lyrics of Far East Movement songs from Internet. Abstract

One of the most prestigious programmes employed to measure educational achievement worldwide is Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) offered by Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The core objective of PISA is to provide cross-nationally comparable evidence of student performance on the skills that are judged to be important for adult life (Breakspear, 2014). PISA result for Indonesia, as one of 72 countries joining PISA in 2015, pictured the stagnancy and failure of education performance system in this developing country. Attractively, it dragged the writers to conduct this study in purposing to identify the factors probably influencing the low position of Indonesia in PISA result during its participation. Based on the analysis, teachers’ quality, education system, education fund as well as educational decentralization are the most probable major factors influencing Indonesia PISA. To make this study more worthwhile, the writers also tried to seek and propose solutions bounding up with those analysed factors and education in the 21st century in purposing to be used as the reference for all elements of education in Indonesia and its stakeholders to improve the stagnancy and prevent the failure to engage with global demands in the 21st century. Keywords: PISA, Indonesia PISA result, Indonesia Educational System, Education Problems, the 21st Century Education.

Abstract

In digital era, the role of media as a helping tool in the process of teaching learning is very important. It is also the right choice in improving the quality of education. The purpose of this research is to find out whether archived e-book based curriculum 2013 which has been developed is effective to improve the learning outcomes at SMK 1 Surakarta in 2016. This was a research and development study. The data for the media developed used Sigil software with the help of Supreader software. The instrument was validated by experts. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire and tests. Interviews and observations were analyzed with descriptive qualitative, whereas the questionnaire and test were analyzed by descriptive quantitative tests. This study used SPSS 20 and IBM software to calculate the data. Based on the analysis, the mean score of experimental group was 81.25 and the control group was 75.94 for their post-test. The t-test score for t-observed was 2.53 meanwhile the t-table was 2.00. The null hypothesis was rejected because t-observes was higher than t-table. It implied that the experimental group performed better than the control group. The conclusion was that learning media using archived e-book based curriculum 2013 was effective to improve learning outcomes. It was based on the t-test calculation in the significant error of 0.05.
