Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that has an important role for individuals, both in the realm of education and in the lives of these individuals, so it is necessary to conduct research to find out students'interest in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to find out and describe the interest in learning mathematics in 4th grade students of Al Mubarok Islamic Elementary School, Gunung Anyar, Surabaya. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with the research subjects being all 4th grade students with a total of 63 students. The data collection method used was by distributing questionnaires via Google form and direct observation. The results of this study prove that the learning interest of 4th grade students at Al Mubarok Islamic Elementary School is quite good with a percentage of 67.04%.

Abstract

Metacognition is thinking skill about thinking. Metacognitive awareness plays an important role in achieving success of the learning process. The aim of this research was to determine the metacognitive awareness profile of X class high school students in Salatiga. This research was used descriptive quantitative with the technique of determining the subject by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out in a survey with the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) instrument by applying a Likert scale. Based on the results of the research, the knowledge dimension with indicator for declarative knowledge was 72.62%, procedural knowledge was 72.13%, and conditional knowledge was 75.98%. Regulatory dimensions such as; planning indicators reached 74.19%, information management strategies only 64.44%, comprehension monitoring 72.01%, debugging strategies 72.87%, and evaluation 74.90%. The average percentage of metacognitive awareness of X class high school students in Salatiga for each indicator is 72.91%. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded here were several metacognitive awareness survey results whose percentages were below 50%.

Abstract

Pedagogy mastery for primary school teachers is a key to delivering meaningful learning yet fun. Teachers should know the best methods for students to engage in learning activities that enrich their learning experience. Making mathematics way more fun could be formulated by adopting such a visual model to uplift students’ understanding of mathematics concepts. Sharpening students’ mathematics thinking could also be modeled as a game. This study aimed to describe how fruitful teaching division in mathematics is for fourth grade using a bar diagram and leftover game board. This has been researched with a descriptive qualitative approach using the case study method. The subjects of this study are eight students in grade four. The data sources were collected from students' activity during the learning process observation sheet, students’ worksheets, and students’ interview sheets. The data was analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. This study revealed that teaching division using a bar diagram could ease students’ lack of dividing numbers with two number digits and leftover game board activity could make students come over with positive attitudes towards mathematics, such as fascination, pleasure, and passion, engage in healthy academic competition during in-class activities.

Abstract

Responses and positive attitudes of students towards mathematics are the key to success in learning. Therefore, teachers are required to be able to innovate in learning activities. With the rapid advancement of technology, it can be used as a motivation to develop innovative learning media that can support learning activities. In this study, the aim was to develop an ethnomathematics-based learning media using a valid Ispring Suite. This research is research and development with the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. However, in this study, the implementation was limited to the development stage. The data collection instrument in this study was a validation sheet filled out by media experts and material experts. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis technique. Learning media is appropriate based on the assessment of media experts who get a score of 94.00% in the "Very Good" category and the results of the assessment of material experts who get a score of 95.56% in the "Very Good" category.

Abstract

Creative thinking skill needs to be trained, even though the learning is conducted online these days. One of the attempts in developing students’ creative thinking skill is through the implementation of 3CM (Cool-Critical-Creative-Meaningful) learning model. This study aimed at analyzing the students’ creative thinking skill through the implementation of the model with two different creative products (problem construction and non-problem construction) in flat-surfaced three-dimensional object. The population of this research was the whole Junior High School students in Salatiga City with the 80 samples of students from SMP Negeri 1 Salatiga and SMP Negeri 6 Salatiga. This study applied quasi experiment research with pretest-posttest control group design. The data were collected through written test and the result of observation on the students. The data analysis used involves initial balance test and hypothesis test using parametric test called Independent Sample T-Test with the significance rate of α=5%. Before being administered with different treatments, the two samples class were in a balanced condition. The findings presented that the implementation of 3CM (Cool-Critical-Creative-Meaningful) with creative activity of project and problem posing (constructing problem and solving constructed problem) for the material of flat-surfaced three-dimensional object proved to be significantly affect, equally, the creative thinking skill.

Abstract

The purpose of conducting this research activity is to determine the level of effectiveness of the Discovery Learning learning model in terms of the critical thinking skills of grade 5 students. The type of research used as a reference in this research is quasi-experimental research (Quasi-Experimental) with a Nonequivalent Control Group design. The population used in this study were Grade 5 students at SD Gugus Dr. Soetomo which is located in the Tengaran District area with a total population of 123 students. The sample in this study was taken based on the Random Sampling Sample technique, where the sample used was 41 students. The data collection instrument uses a rubric for assessing critical thinking skills and test questions. The data analysis technique used is comparative descriptive technique and T-test. The results of data processing show that the t-h???????????????????? value is 3.689 > ????-???????????????????? is 2.024, with a value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. Based on these data it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that the application of the Discovery Learning learning model is significantly effective in cultivating the critical thinking skills of grade 5 students at Gugus Dr. Soetomo.

Abstract

This study delves into the burgeoning field of ChatGPT's integration into educational contexts through comprehensive bibliometric analysis. By examining publication patterns, research themes, influential works, and productive institutions, insights are cultivated into the current state of research in this domain. Notably, the analysis reveals a growing interest in ChatGPT for education, evidenced by the increasing volume of research efforts dedicated to this topic. Key research themes, such as the impact of ChatGPT on teaching and learning experiences, emerge prominently, highlighting the diverse applications and potential implications of this technology in educational settings. Moreover, the identification of influential works and productive institutions underscores the collaborative nature of research in this field and provides valuable references for researchers and practitioners. However, the study also acknowledges limitations, including the reliance on specific databases and the emphasis on quantitative metrics. Future research endeavors are recommended to address these limitations and explore distinct subcategories within ChatGPT for education to further deepen understanding and inform practical strategies for leveraging this technology to enhance educational practices.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the collaboration skills of third-grade students at SD N Ledok 01 Salatiga by applying the Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model. The type of this research is a collaborative classroom action research (PTKK). The subject of this research were 26 third-grade students. This study uses a spiral spin model design developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of 3 stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation and observation stage, also the reflection stage. This research is successful if it achieves success indicators<80%. Data collection techniques are in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model can increase collaboration skills occurring in each cycle which has been shown that students can interact with group mates while doing assignments, which is shown in the pre-cycle of 0%, cycle I of 54%, and cycle II by 81%. Mutual assistance has increased as shown in the pre-cycle of 0%, cycle I of 62%, and cycle II of 85%. Student’s ability to be responsible increased as shown in the pre-cycle of 0%, cycle I of 58%, and cycle II of 85%.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of digital flipbook-based science e-modules to improve science literacy of junior high school students. This form of development research, which was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Jember with a total of 31 students in class VIII F, employed the ADDIE paradigm (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). Interviews, observations, questionnaires, tests, and documentation are all used as data gathering strategies. Research instruments include validation sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, pre-test and post-test inquiries, and student response questionnaire sheets. With a very valid category, the product validity values are 88%. Results for product practicality during learning are 94% in the category of being highly practical. Based on a review of the N-gain, product efficacy results fell into the high category at 0.84, and the findings of the student response questionnaire fell into the good area at 76%. The results of this research indicate that the developed digital flipbook-based Science e-module is valid, practical, effective, and appropriate for improving students' science literacy in science learning in junior high schools.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss learning models that can help teachers foster students' creativity. Creativity is one of the skills that a person needs in his life, and creativity can develop because it is not something static, so it is important to provide the right stimulus. This research uses a literature study. The literature used is in the form of publications collected from the Web of Science and Scopus databases in the period 2014–2023. The keywords used were "creativity" AND "learning model". From these keywords, 588 articles were obtained, which were then filtered, and 8 articles were selected. The results of the article review Some of the learning models obtained are as follows: cooperative learning, project-based learning (PjBL), problem-based learning (PBL), guided inquiry learning model, SSCS learning model, and science-entrepreneurship learning model. Students who are given a stimulus tend to have more abilities than students who are not given a stimulus, as well as creativity.
