Abstract

The learning process is frequently carried out using the internet, as a tool for supporting the  academic activities. Self-control in internet usage is the required characteristic for student in the student-centered learning activities. However, there is a behavior called cyberslacking, or using the internet during the work time for non-work purposes (or in this context, for non-study purposes) that must be avoided because it can affect the learning outcomes and concentration during the study. The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of self control and cyber slacking to students. This study used a quantitative method, with 157 internet- active users students served as the research sample/ subjects. The cyberslacking activities were measured with by Akbulut scales, and the self control ability were measured with the Tangney scales. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and regression analysis techniques. The results showed that there was 32.2% of self-control affecting the cyberslacking behavior among students. The non-study purposes were for sharing information and shopping, that hit high score, where the male and female students had high categories in the same element. Based on the hypothesis testing results, this study's hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

All facets of life and life levels have been significantly impacted by the effects of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the Society 5.0. The two states also apply to the academic institutions. The efforts to address the concerns and obstacles in education and learning in this research attempt to define the technique of integrating and contextualizing the indigenous local knowledge of Sintuwu Maroso. Therefore, the realist ethnographic research had been used. To comprehend the cultural events, social facts must be studied in schools within their natural environments, with the assistance of research tools in the form of instructions for conducting interviews, observations, and documentaries. The Spradley ethnographic research model was employed for the data analysis. According to the findings, incorporating and contextualizing the values of Sintuwu Maroso local knowledge would assist forming the students' personalities so they can think critically, creatively, ingeniously, and integrative about current concerns in the society that arise in the digital age. To perform an inclusive education in the digital age, the school staff members should reflect on the values in the Sintuwu Maroso local wisdom.

Abstract

The students’ problem solving abilities in science about the alternative energy resulted in a low level. A few of the causes were the teacher-centered method and the lack of students' creativity development opportunity in the learning process. This study aims to determine the effect of applying the STEAM approach using the Project-based Learning (PjBL) learning model to aid the students' problem solving abilities about the alternative energy material. This type of research is a quantitative experiment with a quasi-experimental design. The research was conducted at Ngaglik 1 Batu Elementary School in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The population was grade 5 students, and the samples were taken with purposive sampling technique. There were 28 students in the control class and 29 students in the experimental class. The data was collected using the pretest and posttest instruments. The pretest and posttest results were analyzed by parametric inferential statistics based on the prerequisite tests. The normality test used the Shapiro-Wilk and the homogeneity was tesedt using the Levene Statistics. The Independent Sample t-test was used to analyze the research problem and obtained Sig. (2 tailed) of 0.000, which meant that there was a significant difference in the posttest data in the control and experimental classes, so that the application of STEAM-PjBL learning model is concluded to be able to improve students' problem solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether PPR learning can improve numeracy literacy in the concept of numbers in students. This type of research was descriptive qualitative research with a sample of 24 Elementary School Teacher Study Program students. Pretest and posttest are used to find out whether there is an increase in student knowledge, and observation is used to find out the implementation of lectures with PPR dynamics. The results of this study indicate that: (1) students attend lectures with PPR dynamics; (2) numeracy literacy in the number concept of students. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in numeracy literacy in the number concept of students by 28%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide experience with project implementation activities to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students in phase A on the theme of Bhineka Tunggal Ika. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach and the data collection techniques used were the observation techniques by prioritizing direct data from the student information, as well as direct observations from the research location. The research location was at SD Avicenna Cinere grades 1 and 2, that was carried out from November to December 2022.  The results obtained in this study in the dimensions of ‘Faith, Fear of God Almighty’, the Avicenna Elementary students understood that God created humans with all the differences and uniqueness in the ‘Dimension of Noble Morals’. It was found that the students understood to always be grateful for God’s blessings. The result in the ‘Global Diversity’ dimension showed that the students respect the physical, cultural, and background differences of the individuals around them. In the ‘Mutual Cooperation’ dimension, it was found that students could work together with their classmates both in group discussions or assignments. Lastly, in the ‘Creative’ dimension, students showed more creativity in completing their assignments, by providing creative ideas in group discussions.

Abstract

This is a correlational research, aimed to determine (1) the correlation between the work experience and work motivation of private high school teachers in Waingapu City, (2) the correlation between well-being and work motivation of private high school teachers in Waingapu City, and (3) the correlation between the work experience, well-being, and work motivation of the private high school teachers in Waingapu City. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, documentation, and questionnaire. The research located in private high schools in Waingapu City in 2021 (PGRI High School, Muhammadyah High School, Kristen High School, and Andaluri Catholic High School). The population of this study were 140 people, with the sample of  90 people. The data analysis technique was the bivariate correlation with the Spearman test tool, which was processed using the SPSS Version 21.00. The research results are as follows: (1) There is a significant correlation between the work experience and work motivation because the overall correlation coefficient value (r = 0.442**) is at a 1% confidence level with a Sig. 0.000. (2) There is a significant correlation between well-being and work motivation of private high school teachers overall (r = 0.469**) at a 1% confidence level with a Sig. 0.000. (3) There is a significant correlation between work experience, well-being, and work motivation, with a correlation coefficient of (r = 0.604**) at a 1% confidence level with a Sig. 0.000. The suggestion is that the school foundation needs to optimize their efforts to improve the teacher work motivation through the appreciation of their work experience and also paying attention to the well-being of the teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the dependencies between several aspects, including knowledge, impact, and perceptions of Pharmacy students on interest in the MBKM program. The research method used an observational design on all Ma Chung University Malang Pharmacy students. The research instrument was a questionnaire from the survey. spadadikti.id page. The data obtained was then analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed the existence (p-value <0.05) in several significant aspects, including general knowledge, general impact, length of study, improvement of soft skills, fulfillment of post-campus needs, increased competence, document readiness, and readiness of MBKM. This research result showed that the higher of knowledge level, the higher the interest in MBKM. Regarding perception, the higher the good, the higher the perception of the impact of MBKM. This study also showed no significant dependency on readiness; generally, they are ready to join the MBKM program. However, there is a considerable dependency related to the willingness of the Pharmacy Study Program in terms of documents; respondents with high interest will know more about the existence of MBKM documents. The role of the Study Program is needed in terms of socialization and document readiness for Pharmacy students. It is expected to increase student interest so that they are more optimal in participating in MBKM.

Abstract

Planning a mature learning device is an important component in determining the direction of Learning objectives. The purpose of this study is to develop TPACK-based learning devices consisting of Learning Implementation Plans, Teaching content, and Assessment Sheets that are valid and effective and to test the effectiveness of TPACK-based learning devices to improve Learning Activities and students' problem solving abilities. The type of research used is Research and Development (ADDIE model). The extensive trial was carried out at Susukan 01 Elementary School, while the implementation of the TPACK learning device product on students' problem solving abilities was carried out at Bakaran Kulon 03 Elementary School. The data collection method consisted of the results of validation of the TPACK learning device, observation, and questionnaires. The results of the research on the broad trial showed that the learning activities at the first meeting to the fifth meeting were included in the "good" category. Meanwhile, the average score of students' problem solving ability as a whole is 87.75 which is included in the good category. So it can be concluded that the TPACK-based learning devices that have been developed are able to increase student learning activities and can improve students' problem solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of grit among Indonesian university students with quantitative design. The respondents in this study were 720 individuals selected through purposive sampling and surveyed online using a Google Form. The research design used in this study was descriptive quantitative analysis, employing the Grit-S questionnaire. The results of this study showed that 45.4% of students had high grit, 39.9% had low grit, 10.1% had very high grit, and 4.6% had very low grit. Additionally, no significant differences were found in grit scores between genders or academic fields such as medicine, science and technology, and social sciences and humanities. However, a difference in grit scores was found between students enrolled in Public and Private Universities; Private Universities scored slightly higher than Public Universities. The variations in grit levels among students can be used as a reference for counselors to provide guidance to students who exhibit low levels of grit. Furthermore, this finding highlights the need for further research to identify factors that may influence grit levels among university students in Indonesia.

Abstract

The internet science and technology development, artificial intelligence, and nanotechnology is currently the result of human thinking in building civilization on earth. Of course in response to this, the education curriculum needs serious attention from the government in order to achieve the goals and be able to adapt to the intended developments. This paper aims to analyze the nature, goals, and schools of educational philosophy in the MBKM Curriculum as material for thought and discussion in order to produce relevant and contextual recommendations for efforts to improve the education quality in Indonesia which is able to adapt to developments in science and technology. The method used in writing this article is a qualitative research method of library research (library research) through literature studies that are relevant to the nature, goals, schools of educational philosophy in the MBKM curriculum. Based on the results of the studies that have been conducted, it shows that the MBKM curriculum adheres to the philosophy of humanism, pragmatism, existentialism, and critical pedagogy because learning tends to be instilled student centered learning and the learning process is autonomous and flexible in a higher education environment with an innovative learning culture and adapted to the needs of students.
