Abstract

This research was conducted in June-August 2020 in Badi Island pangkep regency of South Sulawesi province.. The research method is a case study by following directly the operation of catching 26 squid fishing rods on the capture trip. Observations were made on a squid fishing rod based in the Badi Island environment with relatively the same size and construction. Data taken 25% of the fishing population fishing fishing squid Productivity of squid fishing in each respondent is different. CPUE (Catch Per Unit Effort) value of fishing rod catch in June – August has an increase in value. CPUE for the last five years of 2015-2019 has a very significant difference in value, but there are several factors that affect, among others, the efficiency of fishing gear operations, oceanography, increasing number of capture fleets and increasing number of trips. The area of capture is located around Badi Island and Lumu-Lumu Island. The time it takes to get to the arrest area is about ± 2 hours. Potential fishing area of squid fishing rod in the waters of Badi Island Pangkep Regency supported by several aquatic oceanographic parameters namely sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a, salinity, current speed, depth and substrak waters.

Abstract

Ptilophora pinnatifida is a red algae that can be found in wild around Indonesia’s ocean. It is a potential raw material for artificial nori. The addition of Moringa oleifera leaves is needed to give green color similar to commercial nori. The aim of this study was produced artificial nori from Ptilophora pinnatifida and Moringa oleifera. This study was an experimental study with variation of Moringa oleifera concentration as the factor. There was three different concentrations of Moringa oleifera (4%, 6%, 8%). Artificial nori was tested for proximate analysis, antioxidant IC50 activity analysis, and Hedonic rating test. The result showed artificial nori had higher water, ash, carbohidrate, and crude fiber content than commercial nori. The protein and fat content of artificial nori were lower than commercial nori. Hedonic test result showed the color, texture, taste, and smell of artificial nori were slighly liked by the panelists. Artificial nori had low antioxidant activity compare to the standard Vitamin C, but artificial nori with 8% addition of Moringa oleifera had higher antioxidant activity than commercial nori. The best artificial nori which had the closest characteristics with commercial nori was artificial nori made from Ptilophora pinnatifida with 8% addition of Moringa oleifera.

Abstract

Coral reefs are one of the most productive and most diverse coastal ecosystem. This ecosystem is the habitat of marine biota such as reef fish, molluscs, crustacea, seaweed, marine plants and so on that use this place as a place to breed, look for food and protection (Romimohtarto, 1991). Coral reef ecosystems are one of the natural resources, where coastal communities benefit from these resources. This study aims to determine the shape of coral reefs (lifeform) and the percentage of coral reefs, and to estimate the economic benefits of coral reef ecosystems in the waters of Bajo-Guruapin Village, Kayoa District, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province. in the waters of Bajo - Guruapin are Acropora Branching (ACB), Acropora Submassive (ACS), Acropora Tabulate (ACT), Coral Branching (CB), Coral Encrusthing (CE), Coral Massive (CM), Coral Foliose (CF), Coral Submassive (CS) and Soft Coral (SC). From the results of the analysis, the percentage of coral cover ranged from 35.65 to 74.42% consisting of hard corals and soft corals so that the condition of coral reefs in Bajo - Guruapin waters can be categorized as conditions up to good.

Abstract

Specific objectives are: 1). Formulate and develop a sustainable livelihood-based farmer welfare development model to improve the quality of rural farmers' resources. 2). Applying an integrated pattern between all livelihood concepts, namely the use of natural resources, the availability of human resources, the availability of physical resources, the ability to access financing, and the internalization of social capital in the lives of rural communities in Bone-Bone village. Rural farmers in Bone-Bone village are the population in this study, some of which will be selected as the main samples in this study. The sample used in this study used snowball sampling with data triangulation techniques, by determining key informants in advance, including several leaders or figures in this village community. Rural farmers with the scope of agricultural life which is the color of their daily life so that they are expected to be able to make farmers survive, organize their agricultural life into a mainstay commodity and prosper their lives. The interaction between local economic institutions and market intervention institutions has brought changes to the local economic institutional order, where subsistence ethics is still a moral requirement, but does not provide opportunities for farmers to improve welfare. Even the workings of market institutional mechanisms during the economic crisis have increased the gap between layers of farming society.
