Abstract

Programmatic Advertising (PA) is changing the way advertisers and publishers interact in the industrial 4.0. PA collects cookies from site pengguna to help advertisers identify the required audience. In PA, an important question is regarding the level of penetration and the reasons for using PA, especially in Indonesia. PA is different from traditional buying and selling advertising, which must bring together sellers and buyers face to face. Qualitative research is used in studying the situation based on the point of perspective of PA users with relevant backgrounds. Data collection techniques with interview observation using open coding, axial, and selective. Then, they used thematic and narrative data analysis with data confirmation through triangulation techniques in order to see data from various perspectives. As a result, in the Indonesian context, PA is growing well, it's just that it is still constrained by a complex implementation process (requires knowledge, insights, and networks).

Abstract

This article analyses the influence of the use of social media among terrorist groups toward the development of terrorism in Indonesia. This research is crucial and interesting because the development of social media could be a prominent tool for a particular person or one group’s existence. Data were collected through literature reviews and studies on social media publications on the issue. The collected data were checked, classified, and analysed by using Nvivo plus 12. Based on the data analysis, it was found that terrorist groups have already used various social media such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp to recruit, share their ideologies, and spread their threats towards people. Each activity has its target and steps to strengthen their existences. These groups have implemented artificial intelligence (AI) by arranging the content management strategy for using social media within their groups or collaborating with other terrorist organisations' links. The result of this study could be the consideration of government policies in facing the development of terrorist groups, primarily which exist in social media.

Abstract

Women domestic workers are often associated with females whose only task is completing domestic work. However, this construction has changed along with the development of the labour industry. Currently, they are associated with skilled domestic workers. The relationship between women domestic workers and their employer that was previously based on kinship is supposed to have shifted to a formal relationship, with work and wage agreements. This construction is also strengthened by the presence of social media, as a means for conveying their narrative as skilled workers and not just servants for their employers. This study examines the process of symbolic interactionism in women domestic workers through their narratives as skilled domestic workers. The data was collected qualitatively from four women domestic workers in the Jakarta area as the research participants. As a metropolitan city, Jakarta has the highest number of domestic workers in Indonesia. Based on the data analysis, women domestic workers conceptualised their profession as experienced and versatile individuals in performing various domestic work and are the backbone of their respective families. Therefore, this conceptualisation shows that the participants can break away from the stereotype that domestic workers are lowly and unskilled workers. The interaction between participants and their employer raises non-physical symbols reflecting dedication and loyalty. In addition, the interaction process is a learning tool for subjects to obtain resources that equalise them with other workers in the domestic sector.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the conditions that encourage the construction of radicalism in Bengkulu and how it affects the formation of communication patterns in the SS group who are considered exposed to radicalism. The theory used to understand the formation of the narrative of radicalism is the construction of social reality from Berger and Luckman. The research method uses a constructivist paradigm with a case study approach. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and literature review. The results of the study found that the construction of radicalism in the SS group was formed by two factors– the first was the SS group's rejection of long-standing community traditions such as tahlilan, grave pilgrimage, and yasinan; the second is the factor of the mass media showing terrorist actors who use the same symbols as the symbols worn by the SS group. The impact of the radicalism label is that the communication formed in the SS group is exclusive, while the village community applies one-way communication in understanding the SS group.

Abstract

Since the study of women in the Tablighi Jamaat (JT) has been actively promoted by various layers and circles in the academic environment, a thesis has also been gradually obtained, strengthening the position of most JT women who live in private and domestic spaces. This study was born from an investigation into the teachings of JT, which are quite strict in regulating the ethics of women's interactions. Also, JT women, like followers of the reformist Islamic movement, do not have a history of good relations with Western products such as social media. The conditions obtained by various previous studies became unstoppable when discussing the women of JT in Temboro Village, Magetan. In this village, which is the central headquarters of JT in East Java, women are often found participating in public spaces and familiar with social media, which is a Western product. By using the post-Islamism theory and ethnographic method, the writer hypothesises that JT Temboro women go through a separate negotiation process related to JT's teachings with the decision to participate in public spaces, one of which is influenced by their intensity with social media.

Abstract

Tourism-related enterprises around the globe are shifting more towards environmentally friendly services. This research provides a theoretical discussion and aims to assess the continuous digital communication activities of tourism business players tiny and medium-scale companies and give an overview of their existence in digital communication technology. This research focuses on determining the concept and various sustainable performance indicators. The data were collected directly from official websites, accommodation booking applications, and social media. This research adopts a matrix dimension to build a database and analyse the meaning of words in the relationship between meeting visitor needs, service quality, cultural wealth, community welfare, and resource efficiency. The research uses the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) approach to test the model that has never been stretched and grouped using heterogeneous techniques. The findings revealed that foreign credentials were less adaptable for local credentials than one-off credentials and that fewer enterprises rate eco-labels on online advertising. The rate of participation of society on the platform was seen to be more complex and intellectual. This research is one of the first to investigate the resilience mechanism in the tourism industry firms. It is anticipated that this research would encourage more studies on the principle of contact and the quality of SME strategies in hospitality and contribute to the drive to facilitate broader acceptance of managerial implications.
