Various ways have been applied to free Bali from the spread of rabies virus. Socialization / counseling to increase knowledge and understanding of the community about rabies and its prevention has been implemented. Rabies vaccination in rabies-transmitted animals has been done, even periodically every year mass rabies vaccinations have been held, and 2015 is the sixth vaccination of rabies. Reduced wild dog populations or elimination have been performed. But rabies never stops, even today all districts in Bali are red zone rabies cases. This study aimed to measure the knowledge level of Pakraman Village leaders and community participation in identifying the potential of Pakraman Village and to analyze the model of community participation in rabies prevention. The subjects were 76 head of family in Tabanan District, Klungkung District, Bangli District, Karangasem District and Buleleng District. This study used pretest and posttest group design, ie a design to determine the impact of the treatment provided by measuring the level of community participation before and after intervention. Data on knowledge was collected by filling out questionnaires by 50 prajuru (administrators) of Pakraman Village before and after being given intervention in the form of counseling with art media of Bondres. Community participation data was collected through interviews before and after intervention. Potential data of Desa Pakraman and the pattern of community participation were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. Data analysis was done descriptively in the form of central tendency because of numerical data type. Hypothesis testing was done using Wilcoxon signed rank test. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that: 1) effective health education to increase knowledge of village administrator and public participation in eradicating rabies virus; 2) pattern / model of community participation in eradication of rabies virus more dominant influenced by visit / suggestion. Furthermore, it is suggested that village administrator pakraman to be more intent to make visits / suggestions to educate the society so that community participation is more increased. The extract of Pagoda leaves can play roles as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacteria. Interleukin 6 (IL-6 henceforth) is the primary mediator in responding to the inflammation, while mastitis is caused by bacteria often found in the increased level of IL-6. This research aimed to unveil the effect of giving the extracts of Pagoda leaves on the level of IL-6 of female rats (Sprague dawley therefore) induced by Staphylococcus aureus. This true experimental research employing pre-test and post-test control design used eighteen rats chosen randomly. All rats were divided into three groups, namely negative control (placebo), positive control (amoxicillin 9.6 mg/ml/kgBB/hari/oral) and treatment group (amoxicillin 9.6 mg/ml/KgBB + EDP 50 mg/ml/KgBB/hari/oral). All groups were induced by S.aureus 0.2x108 CFU. Treatment was given for five days. Investigating the level of IL6 was done using ELISA method. The data were anaylized using ANOVA formula followed by post hoc. The empirical findings showed that there was a difference in terms of the level of IL-6 in all of the groups ±24 before and after the induction of S.aureus. The result of investigating the level of IL-6 in the post-test was significant (ρ = 0.00), meaning that there was a significant difference, in which the negative control group, the level of IL-6 was insacalating; while it was dipping in both the positive and treatment groups. However, the treatment group experienced the most significant drop in terms of the level of IL-6. It can be concluded that Pagoda leaves can be used as a complementary therapy for mastitis illness caused by the S.aureus bacteria. This study was aimed at analyzing the provision of energy and nutrient needs of postnatal in Tarak tradition (food abstinence) and to enhance the technical personnel role on lactation management in exclusive breastfeeding practices. This study applied qualitative design with phenomenological approach as the first phase by involving women in mountain communities of Trenggalek who undergo three consecutive phases, namely third trimester, postnatal, and breastfeed for 6 months. While on the second phase (quasi experimental) was deployed to identify the provision of energy and nutrition of postnatal women in Tarak tradition and enhancing the technical personnel role of lactation management. The results showed that the respondents in mountain area of Bendungan Subdistrict, Trenggalek Regency committed to practice Tarak during pregnancy and postnatal. The belief of eating pineapple that would cause miscarriage was the most common practice of it. The other practices are dietary restrictions of banana and tape (fermented cassava). Interventions through counseling on balanced nutrition and supplementary feeding for replenishing energy by 331 calorie/day and 19 gram/day protein for 30 days had a significant effect on weight gain and nutritional status measured with LILA (upper arm circumference). The increased weight and nutritional status indicated success in breastfeeding. Furthermore, this study also revealed the success of 6 months exclusive breastfeeding practice. Enhancing the technical personnel role on lactation management brought a significant effect on the raise of exclusive breastfeeding practices.
