Abstract

Home tofu industry is one of the small-scale industries that still very rarely have waste disposal installations where liquid waste tofu is mostly dumped directly into the environment and water bodies. Liquid waste tofu produced containing Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) And High Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) can result in environmental damage and impact on health. This study aims to lower BOD levels in tofu liquid waste by using anaerobic sedimentation ponds with a variation in the retention time of 24 hours, 28 hours and 32 hours. The research used is Quasi-Experimentation. The total samples of liquid wastewater tofu used as much as 90 liters are divided in three sedimentation tanks with the amount of each treatment 3 times replication. The results showed that bod levels of liquid waste home tofu after processing with sedimentation ponds in an anaerobic state with a 24-hour stay examination of initial BOD levels of 325.5 mg / l after processing 297 mg / l with a percentage of 9%, at the examination of 28 hours the initial level of 325.5 mg /l after processing 267 mg / l with a percentage of 18.13% and examination 32 hours the initial level of BOD 325.5mg / l dropped to 200.3 with a percentage of 39%.The conclusion of this study is the use of sedimentation room with a variation in the time of stay able to lower bod levels up to 39%, but has not met the requirements of Governor Sul-Sel Regulation No.69 year 2010 on Quality Standards and Environmental Damage Criteria.

Abstract

Most of the existing waste is organic waste originating from household activities. To overcome vegetable and fruit waste, fermentation is conducted by adding brown sugar and water to produce ecoenzymes. Ecoenzymes have many uses, from cleaning agents, and insecticides, to natural fertilizers. Ecoenzymes from various types of organic waste can provide different characteristics. The research method was an experimental laboratory to determine the differences in the peel type of medan oranges (Citrus x sinensis), squeezed oranges (Citrus reticulata), and lemons (Citrus limon) on the organoleptic character of eco enzymes and pH values. Through this research, it is notable that the eco enzymes from Citrus x sinensis peels have good eco enzyme criteria and the pH value of all orange peels has a pH of 3.

Abstract

This paper examines how the impact of community mobility during COVID-19 large-scale social restriction policy on the concentration of air pollutants (SO2, CO and NO2), where the restriction policy has reduced community mobilization. Using fixed effect panel data regression, it was found that community mobility during restriction policyhad a significant impact on increasing the three pollutants. The daily average concentration of CO and SO2 air pollutants is still above the WHO recommendation limit. This finding shows that despite the restrictions on community activities, there is a mobility pattern that keeps the pollutant concentration high. Abstract

The expansion and growth of Higher Education in Indonesia are very rapid with a large population, large area, and dense activity, resulting in significant waste generation. This is a very big challenge to achieve sustainable development if there is no systematic, comprehensive, and sustainable waste management. This study was to analyze and plan waste management according to the green campus concept. This research uses a descriptive-quantitative method with a case study strategy at Universitas Respati Yogyakarta. The population and sample are all waste generated in the campus area and all documents related to the waste recycling program. The research instrument uses 2 guidelines: measurement of waste generation and composition refers to the SNI and waste management analysis based on guidelines from UI GreenMetric. The results showed that the generation (0.021kg/person/day) and volume of waste (0.369/kg/person/day) were above the SNI values and most types of waste are inorganic. The waste containers provided do not meet SNI: volume, number, color, and several waste collection tools. The campus has a program to reduce the use of paper and plastic, but it has not been maximized because there is no recycling program, >75% of organic waste has not been handled, there is no handling of B3 waste and the method of disposing of liquid waste is still conventional. The conclusion is that the campus waste management system gets a poor score on the Green Campus. Handling waste on site is a step that must be carried out before being disposed of in a container.

Abstract

TPA Sukawinatan is one of the final disposal sites that is still operating actively in Palembang City. Garbage is often a risk for a city to become a megalopolis. With a large population and high growth rate, the amount of waste is increasing. Many cities in Indonesia have built Final Processing Sites (TPA) without regard to TPA production standards and without regard to Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL). The purpose of this study to identify the waste management system and community participation in Sukajaya Village, Sukarami District. Using cross-sectional, descriptive, observational research methods. With the population of abiotic components and samples of the surrounding community. Garbage produced by the Sukawinatan community is disposed of in a landfill, causing a pungent odor throughout the day. Environmental pollution due to waste has recently increased rapidly. On that basis, this study aims to determine whether the waste management at Sukawinatan TPA complies with the applicable budget based on Regional Regulation 7 of 2016. Environmental pollution in the Sukawinatan TPA area, especially in the air and soil, greatly impacts the health of the community resulting in a decrease in the level of public health. The active role of the community is also needed to live a clean and healthy life by applying the 4R principles and improving technology in waste management according to the type of waste. Keywords : TPA, Waste Management, TPA Sukawinatan
