Abstract

Health is an investment in the economic development of a nation and as the efforts to reduce poverty. Indonesia's health development efforts are carried out by all components of the nation with the aim of fostering awareness, desire and ability to live a healthy life for everyone, in order to realize the highest degree of health. To achieve the development priorities in the health sector for 2015-2019, the Healthy Indonesia Program will be implemented by empowering all potentials and assets owned by the Indonesian nation, both from the central, provincial, district/city governments, and the community. Health development efforts begin with the smallest unit, namely the family. This study aimed to determine the achievement of the healthy family index in the Learning Experience area of the Public Health Study Program at UIN Alauddin Makassar. This research was an observational study with descriptive analysis. The research population was all families who live in Limapoccoe Village, Cenrana District, Maros Regency. The samples were 232 households in Mappasaile hamlet and 118 in Kaluku hamlet. The results showed that the healthy family index in Mappasaile Hamlet was 0.219 (unhealthy family) and Kaluku Hamlet was 0.169 (unhealthy family), thus the healthy family index in Limapoccoe Village was 0.202 (unhealthy family). The government is suggested to make policies for supporting the implementation of the 12 indicators of healthy families such as recipients of cash assistance not having family members who smoke, and more intensive officers going into the field to educate the public to implement the 12 indicators of healthy families. Keywords: healthy family index, health, learning service area

Abstract

The World Health Organization labels vaccine hesitancy among top ten threats to global health. This study aimed to assess doubts, and related factors among people in South Sulawesi Province when the vaccination program was intensively carried out. This study used a web-based cross-sectional design. Online-based data collection was carried out in March-April 2022. The sample was a selected non-probability sample of social media users aged 17-65 years and domiciled in South Sulawesi Province. A total of 579 respondents' statements were successfully collected. The findings from this study showed various forms of relationships between vaccine hesitancy and socio-demographic, economic, and trust in government factors. The results of this analysis also showed that respondents who had incomplete vaccinations tended to be 16 times more hesitant to receive the vaccine than those who had completed their vaccine status. Respondents who did not believe in the government's performance tended to be 2 times more hesitant to accept vaccines than those who supported the government. Respondents who were not yet married tend to be 2 times more hesitant about receiving vaccines than those who were married. Respondents who had a history of co-morbidities tended to be 1 times more hesitant about receiving the vaccine than those without a history. Society needs to increase literacy in preventing the emergence of transmission of Covid-19. The ability to fight disease through health protocols must also be supported by trust in vaccination programs, and increasing immunity by utilizing immune-boosting food products. Abstract

Due to the significant and long-term effects of exposure to these chemicals on the neurological system, kidneys, bones, reproductive and endocrine systems, lead from electronic waste (E-Waste) has emerged as a key global environmental health issue. Women who became pregnant when they were growing up in a recycling facility would have an even longer exposure history, a larger body burden in physiologic deposits, and can trigger new problems when pregnant, one of the problems that can arise is Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The prevalence of ADHD in the world ranges from 2% to 7%, and an average of about 5% among children and 60% of them can continue into adulthood. The diagnosis of ADHD is more of a phenomenological diagnosis than an etiologic one, because many factors are involved and suspected to be the etiology, but manifest as the same symptoms. Article searches were carried out through PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest, Science Direct, Portal Garuda Indonesia, Sinta, and Google Scholar. The articles were selected with the following criteria: the dependent variable was lead and ADHD, the independent variable was the exposure to dust, open access to full text, and the articles selected with a publication date around 2011-2021. Based on 173 relevant articles, 18 main articles fulfil the criteria. Many studies have concluded that ADHD is the result of impaired neurological function by an imbalance of neurotransmitters belonging to the category of executive function of the brain. This study discovered that recycling of e-waste contaminates the environment with lead, which affects children's neurobehavioral development. Keywords: E-Waste, Lead, Children, ADHD

Abstract

A food handler or food handler is a force that tends to make contact with food and also its equipment. Food handlers also participate in the expansion, cleaning, processing, transportation, and serving of food. The quality of hygiene can change depending on two factors, namely food handler factors and also the environment then from the two factors mentioned food handler factors are considered more influential. Food handlers are required to apply hygiene practices to the environment where they work and to themselves so that there is no bacterial contamination of food during the processing and serving of food so as to make the food a source of disease. Knowing whether there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes towards hygiene practices in food handlers at restaurants in the work area of the Wonorejo Health Center. In this study, it used a cross-sectional approach with purposive sampling techniques with a total sample of 61 food handlers. Data analysis used the chi square test technique which showed that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge and hygiene practices and the relationship between attitudes and hygiene with a p value = 0.000 < α 0.05. That the level of knowledge and attitude can be related to the hygiene practices of food handlers in processing and serving food. Keywords : Knowledge, Attitude, Hygiene Practices, and Food Handler

Abstract

Currently, many studies have proven that excessive fat consumption can trigger various disorders, such as obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, impaired glucose tolerance. This study aimed to examine the effect of a high-fat diet on lipid profiles and fasting blood sugar in the serum of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain. This study is a true experimental study with a randomized posttest-only control group design using 31 male Wistar rats weighing 150-250 grams, aged 4-5 months. Rats were divided into two groups, namely group K1 (negative control, normal diet) amounted to 7 and K2 (high-fat diet, with daily fat content of 66.28%) amounted to 24 mice. A high-fat diet was given for 50 days. The parameters examined were triglyceride levels, HDL cholesterol, and fasting blood sugar. The K1 group had an average triglyceride level of 52.16 mg/dL, HDL cholesterol 51.80 mg/dL, and fasting blood sugar 157.20 mg/dL; while the K2 group had an average triglyceride level of 101.00 mg/dL, HDL cholesterol 42.93 mg/dL, and fasting blood sugar 208.00 mg/dL. Based on the results of independent T-test analysis, the levels of triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, and fasting blood sugar in groups K1 and K2 were significantly different, namely 0.030, 0.011 and 0.009, respectively (P < 0.05). It can be concluded that a high-fat diet affects the lipid profile and fasting blood sugar.
