Abstract

PT. XY is a company engaged in the food industry, namely instant noodles. The problem encountered atPT XY was that one of the machines that used in instant noodle production often stopped operating due toa breakdown. The machine that often experiences breakdowns is the Wrapping Line 4 machine, which is apackaging machine for cup noodle products. This results in a long machine downtime so that theproduction target is not achieved. One approach to addressing this problem is Total ProductiveMaintenance (TPM) which is measured through Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Six BigLosses. This study aims to calculate the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value, calculate the valueof the Six Big Losses factor and determine the root cause of the dominant problem of the Six Big Lossesfactor using a fishbone diagram. The calculation results show that the OEE value on the Wrapping Line 4is below the international standard, which is 78.03%. Dominant factors that cause machine effectivenesswas low are quality defect losses by 63,54% and reduce speed losses by 24,87%.

Abstract

Quality control is a system that can assist a company in maintaining and maintaining product quality sothat product defects do not occur. PT. XYZ is a company in the clay tile industry. Every month, PT. XYZhas products due to defects with an average of 2225 precarious. One of the problems that occurred at PT.XYZ is an inspection process that only uses sight. The use of sight can carry the risk of increased operatingcosts due to faulty examinations, failure to get business, and rework. With the development of technology,it can overcome this problem by finding artificial detectors using measurement methods, imagepreprocessing, and algorithms to detect defect. In this study using the Support Vector Machine (SVM)method in classifying defects. Taking pictures directly in this study using raspberry pi and making thealgorithm system using pyhton software. This study uses a linear kernel in the SVM algorithm. The resultsin this study concluded that the highest accuracy rate was 88.6% using a linear kernel.

Abstract

Continuous production causes machines to work without stopping which results in the risk of decreasingmachine productivity at PT. TJB Power Services. The company is an Operation and Maintenance companyfor PLTU Tanjung Jati B Units 1 and 2. In 2018, the level of Equivalent Availability Factor (EAF) Unit 1was 89.45% and Unit 2 was 93.76%, which was originally targeted at 100%. Meanwhile, in 2019 Unit 1increased to 95.60% and Unit 2 decreased to 88.12%. In general, the production process starts fromgrinding coal, which is used for fuel heating water into dry steam, which is flowing into a turbine to drive agenerator that produces electricity. Therefore, research was carried out in the pulverizer unit 2 because ithas decreased its availability and is a critical machine in the production process that will affect overallproductivity. Based on the RCM II analysis at the FMEA stage, the highest RPN value was obtained forcoal pipe and pyrite equipment. After analyzing with the Fishbone diagram, it is found that the root causesof failure include primary air and outside air containing seawater content and not coated with anti-rustresulting in corrosion, accumulating foreign objects that are not filtered in the silo and lack of maintenance. From the results of the analysis of these problems, it was found that the proposed improvements weremade in the form of the RCM II Decision Worksheet.
