Abstract

Meetball is a common food in society and has good nutritional volue. Sword koro can be used as a binder besides having better quality and protein than tapioca flour. This study aims to determine the effect koro pedang flour to the nutritional value and organoleptic value f chicken meatballs. The method used in the study was a completely randomized designconsisting of 5 teatments and repeated 5 times, namely: KO (control), K1 (chicken meatballs + koro pedang flour 20%), K2 (chicken meatballs + koro pedang flour 25%), K3 (chicken meatballs + koro pedang flour 30%) and K4 (chicken meatballs + + koro pedang flour 35%). The variables measured ware the nutritional value or chemical composition (moisture content, ash content, fat content, and crure protein), and the organoleptic value of chicken meatballs with the addition of koro pedang flour (Canavalia Gladiante). Analysis of the data used the analysis of variance based on completely randomized design CRD), from the results of different analyzes followed by the LSD test. The results showed that the nutritional value showed very significant results or all treatments (K1,K2,K3 dan K4) were significantly different(P>0.01) for crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat and ash. Maenwhile, for the water content in this treatment, no significant results were found. The highest average value is shown in the K4 tretment for protein, crude fat, crude fiber and ash. The organoleptic value showed significant results (P<0.05) on the K1 treatment for taste, color, texture and acceptance. Maenwhile, the aroma is insignificant because the aroma of the meatballs added with koro flour has a very strong and distinctive aroma

Abstract

A good diluents must have the ability to reduce the rate of decline in the quality of spermatozoa, by choosing the right diluents that is able to maintain the quality of spermatozoa. The addition of antioxidants is believed to be able to maintain spermatozoa life longer, one of which is the addition of carrot extract. The purpose of this study was to maintain the quality of Bali cattle spermatozoa stored at 5 0C by utilizing the quality of bali cattle spermatozoa because they contain antioxidants. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications, namely: P0 = cement + andromed, P1 = cement + andromed + 5 % carrot extract, P2 = cement + andromed + 10 % carrot extract, P3 = cement + andromed + 15 % carrot extract, P4 = cement + andromed + 20 % carrot extract. The variables measured were the quality of the spermatozoa microscopically, namely the motility and viability of the spermatozoa. The result showed that the increase in the level of carrot extract in andromed diluent in maintaining spermatozoa motility at 5 0C was not significant (P>0,05), meaning that each treatment had the same effect in maintaining spermatozoa motility. The percentage of motility in all treatments is feasible to be applied to the IB program because is still shows a value of more than 40 %.

Abstract

Most of the tempe industry have not been equipped with a waste water treatment unit. It is usually a water soaked soybeans and soybean excess water is still discharged directly in the into the environment. Liquid waste industrial of tempeh contain high organic materials. One of the process for wastewater treatment is coagulation with the addition of a positively charged polyelectrolyte in tempeh wastewater as negatively charged. One of plants in Indonesia that can be used as an alternative coagulant is tamarind seeds (Tamarindus indica, L).it can be used for wastewater treatment is more economical. The aims of this experiment is to determine the optimum stirring time, optimum pH of the waste and optimum coagulant dosage for treatment of the tempeh wastewater with coagulant tamarind seed powder. The experiment studied were stirring time, the pH of thetempeh wastewater and coagulant dosage to the percentage decrease in turbidity and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand). The variables in the experiment were stirring time (10,15, 20, 25 and 30 minutes), the pH of the waste (3; 3.5; 4; 4 and 5) and the dosage of tamarind seed powder (100, 300, 500, 700, and 900 mg / L). COD testing methods is closed reflux method by spectrophotometry and turbidity testing using Turbidimeter. The results showed that the with coagulant tamarind seed powder effectively lowered cod levels and the dryness of tempeh liquid industrial waste. The optimum pH obtained is pH 4, optimum stirring time is 25 minutes and the increase in optimum coagulant dose is 500 mg with a percentage decrease in COD levels and noise by 90.57% and 78.94%.  Key words: liquid waste; sour power; turbidity; COD

Abstract

Power generating units should be built closed to load centers according to electric power company regulation. These units are generally small in capacity, so that makes power transfer among inter- and outer-areas is easier to be done. This study aims to improve dynamic stability of a Micro Hydro Power Plant (MHPP) on perspective of 5% load increased in Diesel Power Plant (DPP). The DPP is equipped by an ANFIS-based Power System Stabilizer (PSS) in this scheme. Two inputs with Gauss2mf membership function (MF) type and 5-number of the each MF are used to implement the ANFIS model. Simulation results show that overshoot of MHPP power angle deviation is reduced to the values of 0.023, 0.0138 and 0.0132°, for the DPP without PSS, conventional and ANFIS PSS, respectively.  Also, reduction in setting time is achieved at times >6, 4.051 and 3.553 s. It is shown that the ANFIS PSS is more effective to enhance the dynamic stability compared to other PSS

Abstract

The existence of magnitude type variation from existing earthquake catalogue sources show that uniforming process is necessary. Beside that these type of magnitude will saturates in certain value, which are different with moment magnitude (Mw) which is not saturated and can describe earthquake process better. Our research initially did compatibility test between summary magnitude which is largely used by BMKG with other magnitude type. Furthermore, the purpose of our research is determination of empirical relation between magnitude type summary magnitude (M), local magnitude (ML), body-wave magnitude (mb), dan surface magnitude (Ms) which are usually used by earthquake catalogues to Mw. Method used in this research is linear regression using data set from BMKG, ISC-EHB, USGS, and Global CMT catalogues with are limited in West Nusa Tenggara and surrounding area. Data used in this research contains of 24.703 earthquake events during period May 9th 1922 until June 27th 2020. The result of this research shows there was good relation between M magnitude type with others magnitude type. Our research also found a conversion formula of M, ML, MLv, mb, and Ms to Mw with well-defined correlation.

Abstract

test of modifying the properties of vertic material by using a ball milling technique was carried out with the primary aim to eliminate the vertic (swelling-shrinking) property and increase the electrical charge of the material. The clay fraction of Vertisol was dried and ball milled for 5, 10, and 20 minutes. Results reveal that the clay fraction of the soil material was dominated by montmorillonite mineral, and ball milling for > 5 minutes transformed the crystalline montmorillonite into amorphous (non-crystalline) particles. Those changes were followed by increasing the vertic features, cation exchange capacity, water holding capacity, and suspension effect of the milled material. The improvement of vertic characteristics might be due to the increase of electric charge of the milled particles. Thus, high-energy ball milling was an effective technique to improve the reactivity and vertic property of vertic material of Vertisols. Further studies are needed to evaluate the potential uses of modified vertic materials as ceramic material, cement component, adsorbent of heavy metals, and other contaminants, or catalysator
