Abstract

One type of pollution that must be taken into concern is lead metal (Pb) as an element that is harmful to humans. Croton leaves contain tannin chemical compounds that able to bind lead (Pb). The research aimed to determine to potency of croton leaves as an adsorbent of lead (Pb). The research used a metal content measurement method based on the adsorption of croton leaves by atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS). The results showed that the absorption of lead was based on 3 gram concentrations in the samples, namely sample (1) 0.1181 gram of 1.9991 µg/g, sample (2) 0.3179 gram    of 0.0871 µg/g and sample (3) 0.5117 gram of 0.2171 µg/g. in the use of parameter of the sample concentration it is indicated that at mass 0.1181 gram, the lead metal content showed a maximum absorption of 1.9991 µg/g sample.

Abstract

Long-term use of synthetic insecticides or larvicides can cause undesirable things, so plant-based biolarvacides need to be developed that do not cause harm and are more environmentally friendly. The aim of this study was to determine the total phenolic value of Avium graveolens  extract granules as well as to determine the temperature stability of good storage for larvicidal granules of Avium graveolens extract and to know the safe limits of the use of larvicide granules of Avium graveolens extract based on LC50 values. Total phenol test of Avium graveolens extract was carried out using Folin Cetaceau reagent, then the stability test of Avium graveolens extract granules was carried out by storing Avium graveolens extract granules at several different temperatures for the next 28 days based on physical properties and total phenol values on Avium graveolens extract granules before being saved and after being stored. Then the safety test was carried out by the BSLT method (Brine Shrimp Lethality Test) by looking at the number of deaths of Artemia saline larvae and then LC50 values were calculated. The results showed that the total phenol content of Avium graveolens extract was 0.23605% b / b. And the results of the stability test showed that the granules did not change physically even though they were stored at 60oC for 28 days. The results of the toxicity test obtained LC50 values of 608,98 mcg/g, meaning that Avium graveolens extract granules are safe to use

Abstract

Endophytic fungi generally produce secondary metabolites that have beneficial biological activities such as anticancer, antiviral, antibacterial or antioxidant compounds. The aim of this study was to examine the antioxidant activity of galling-galing leaf endophytic fungi isolate (Cayratia trifolia L.) by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil (DPPH) method. This study used IDGG-03 endophytic fungi isolate fermented for 21 days using MYB medium then extracted and evaporation was carried out. The fermentate extract obtained was then tested qualitatively and quantitatively for antioxidant activity. Qualitative results using TLC plates indicate that galling-leaf fungi isolates have antioxidant activity which is characterized by the presence of yellow spots on a purple background. And in the quantitative test IC50 68,133 µg / mL was obtained, which indicated the antioxidant activity of galling-vane leaf endophytic fungi isolate (Cayratia trifolia L.) classified as a strong antioxidant.

Abstract

One of the Indonesian plants that can be used is green grass jelly leaf (Cyclea barbata Miers) because it contains alkaloids, polyphenols, saponins and flavonoids that can prevent inflammation. Inflammation is an environmental physiological response caused by damage or damage to the tissue that functions, reduces, or confines an injuring agent or injured tissue. The purpose of this study was to formulate green grass jelly leaf extract into anti-inflammatory capsules. This research begins with the maceration of the simplicia extraction process of green grass jelly leaves using ethanol 96% solvent. Granule preparation used dry granulation method with vivapur 101 which varied in 3 formulas, namely (1: 1, 1: 1,5, 1: 2). The next step was a physical evaluation test of granules including moisture content, flow properties, angle of rest, carcass index, compressible density and true density and a physical evaluation test including organoleptic test, weight uniformity and disintegration time. The results of the evaluation test that have been carried out show that formula 3 with a thick extract concentration: vivapur 101 (1: 2) is the most optimal, because it meets the evaluation test requirements with a moisture content value of dry extract granules 1.5% and a water content value of granule capsules. green grass jelly leaves 1.1%.
