Abstract

Saat ini dunia pendidikan mendapat sorotan yang tajam dari berbagai kalangan, tidak lain karena banyaknya generasi muda, khususnya pelajar melakukan tindakan-tindakan negatif, seperti tawuran, perkelahian, pencurian, dan tindakan kekerasan lainnya. Kondisi ini menunjukkan bahwa ada sesuatu yang keliru dalam sistem pendidikan nasional, terutama dalam hal pendidikan karakter. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan karakter terus didengungkan agar selalu menjadi perhatian yang serius dan diimplementasikan dalam lembaga pendidikan (sekolah). Salah satu unsur terpenting dalam pendidikan karakter adalah kejujuran. Sesungguhnya orang yang memiliki sifat jujur akan dihormati dan dikagumi oleh orang lain, bahkan Allah SWT menempatkan orang yang jujur pada golongan yang dicintai oleh Allah SWT. Sifat jujur ini merupakan salah satu sifat yang ada pada diri Nabi dan Rasul. Dewasa ini kejujuran merupakan sesuatu yang langka. Berbagai kasus terjadi, seperti kebiasaan mencontek di kalangan siswa, korupsi di berbagai level, penipuan, penggelapan uang, kasus kriminal lainnya, mulai dari kalangan pelajar sampai kalangan pejabat tinggi, dikarenakan faktor ketidakjujuran. Untuk itu, guru sebagai sentral dalam pendidikan di sekolah, memiliki peran yang penting dalam menanamkan nilai kejujuran pada anak. Beberapa hal yang dapat diterapkan oleh guru dalam penanaman nilai kejujuran diantaranya; melakukan pengajaran secara terus-menerus dan terintegrasi antar setiap komponen sekolah, menjadikan dirinya sebagai suri teladan bagi anak didiknya, membiasakan peserta didik untuk berperilaku jujur, melakukan refleksi diri, dan memberikan punishment kepada anak yang berperilaku tidak jujur Kata Kunci : Peran Guru, Kejujuran, Lembaga Pendidikan

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of teachers’ competence and implementation of international curriculum on teachers’ performance in North Jakarta International Schools. This research was conducted based on the problem that there were still many teachers who do not have good performance. This research uses quantitative study with a survey and interviews to collect data from the respondents. This study employs path analysis technique to test the hypothesis. The sample in this study is 55 teachers in North Jakarta International Schools which is taken by using simple random sampling. The results show that (1) teachers’ competence has a positive and effect on teachers’ performance, (2) the implementation of international curriculum has a positive effect on teachers’ performance, and (3) teachers’ competence has a positive effect on the implementation of international curriculum.

Abstract

This paper examines the strategic role of religious education in the national education system. In accordance with the mandate of UU Sisdiknas no 20/2003 that religious education is part of national education. Moreover, the issue of character education is getting stronger, increasingly placing religious education, in this case Islamic Education (IE) as the spearhead in guarding the implementation of character education. By using literature study, the results of this study were obtained, that the implementation of IE needs to be improved in order to produce students with character. Some obstacles in the implementation of Islamic religious education, making the PAI has not been able to produce students of character as much as expected by all parties. There are two dominant causes in the implementation of IE that are less than the maximum. First, IE puts more emphasis on the mastery of texts contained in textbooks and outer cognitive only (cognitive domain), whereas the substance of the cultivation of religious values just disappears as the cognitive knowledge accumulates. Second, the doctrinal learning process must be accepted, without growing the students' critical reason.

Abstract

The implementation of total quality management is applied to every educational institution as an effort to improve the quality of education. In this case, it is important to carry out management functions in each educational institution. This article discusses the implementation of total quality management in educational institutions to seek to improve the quality of education in achieving a quality standard in education. Every educational institution should show better quality and be able to compete. This is intended so that educational institutions continue to gain the trust of the public and stakeholders. To continue to get this, it must be improved continuously, both physically and non-physically. So as to make a quality educational institution and guaranteed quality. There are several main things that need to be considered in implementing total quality management in the world of education, namely: continuous quality improvement; determine quality standards, cultural change; changes in the organization; and maintain relationships with other agencies and customers and evaluate the system if anything is not appropriate

Abstract

The School Operational Assistance (BOS) program aims to free up tuition fees for underprivileged students and provide relief for other students, so that they can get better quality basic education services until they are completed in order to complete 9 years of basic education compulsory education. Through BOS, the level of primary education students will be freed from all kinds of school operational costs. The purpose of this study was to find out the Management of the School Operational Assistance Fund (BOS) in improving the learning process in State MTs 1 and Al-Arkom MTs Palembang. The technical analysis used in this study is a qualitative data analysis technique. While the data collection techniques used are interviews, documentation and observation. The results showed that the effectiveness of the management of Operational Assistance funds in the process of improving the learning process in Palembang 1 MTSN had been running effectively in accordance with the 2007 School Operational Aid published by the Indonesian Ministry of Religion. As for the effective ones, namely the need for the availability of funds, facilities and infrastructure to support teaching and learning activities, human resources, planning activities or programs and the amount of funds that will be used for these activities or programs, activities to use school operational assistance funds to meet school needs, coordination between the school and the KOMITE, oversight of the use of the School Operational Assistance Fund (BOS), the improvement of the quality of education, the achievement of the objectives of the use of BOS funds and the achievement of the main objectives of the BOS funds program. Whereas in MTS Al-Arkom, the management of BOS funds has not been implemented effectively, namely the need for the availability of funds, facilities and infrastructure to support teaching and learning activities, human resources, planning activities or programs and the amount of funds to be used for these activities or programs. the school with the school KOMITE. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a direct positive effect from Principal’s academic supervision and interpersonal communication on teacher's performance. Total of 59 teachers were chosen as research samples to obtain data and analyzed using quantitative methods of path analysis. The results showed that there is a direct positive effect (1) academic supervision on teacher performance, (2) interpersonal communication on teacher's performance, (3) academic supervision on interpersonal communication is positive direct effect.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain scientific information on the achievement and effectiveness of Ma'had Al-Jami'ah program management. The research method used is evaluative research. Data collection using observation techniques, interviews, questionnaires / questionnaires, and document review. Methods of data analysis using descriptive and qualitative quantitative methods. The results of the research obtained the evaluation results obtained value of each aspect, namely: 1) functionalization of management functions Ma'had Al-Jami'ah 75.46 good category, 2) 100 curriculum management very good category, 3) mahasantri management 80 categories good, 4) management of facilities and infrastructure 71.42 good category, 5) management of educators and education 60 categories enough, 6) public relations management 0 categories very kuran, and 8) special service management 60 categories enough. The results of this evaluation provide advice to the leadership Ma'had Al-Jami'ah to run the organizing function that is to formulate and determine the methods and procedures, and select and conduct training and education of educators and educational. Furthermore, it is expected that the leadership of Ma'had Al-Jami'ah to make contact with the community, financial supervision, and form the committee acceptance ma'had students.

Abstract

Teacher’s performance plays a crucial role in achieving quality of education and good character of students. Low teacher’s performance will decrease quality of graduates itself. Based on data in north Jakarta vocational school, teacher’s performance is in priority programs of government, and still need to be increased. The objectives of this research is to investigate whether there exist any direct positive effect of transformational leadership and work motivation towards teacher’s performance at North Jakarta Vocational School. As many as 81 from 443 teachers were used as research samples to obtain data which were then analyzed using quantitative methods of path analysis. The result shows that there exists a positive direct effect of (1) transformational leadership towards teacher performance, (2) work motivation towards teacher performance, (3) transformational leadership towards work motivation.

Abstract

The existence of madrasas or schools based in pesantren portrays explicitly an integrated educational institution. Nevertheless, reality at the operational level does not fully indicate so. In fact  madrasa and pesantren is managed partially rather than managed as an integrated education system. This article is intended to analyze the opportunities of synergizing the Islamic education system between pesantren and madrasas/schools gathered in one framework in order to become more effective islamic educational institutions. By using qualitative methode, the results of this study indicate that the opportunity to synergize pesantren and madrasas as alternative educational institutions is very wide open considering the education system that runs between the two is generally still separate. This step can be started by uniting management into an integral system, implementing an integrated and correlated curriculum and evaluating comprehensively. With the various excellences possessed by each pesantren and madrasa, synergizing these two institutions is the most effective way to realize a quality education output both in the field of religious knowledge and general knowledge.

Abstract

The need of education which is properly accommodated in Constitution Number 20 of 2003 about national education System on article 50, verse 3 which mandate that Government and/or Local Government hold at least one educational unit on whole educational level to be developed as school at international level. After 8 year implementation, through Constitution Court session on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, issued a policy about abolition of international based school. Constitution Court has accepted the complaint which is submitted by Coalition against Commercialization of Education. In its consideration, Constitution Court considers that international school in governmental school is on the contrary to UUD 1945. The purpose of this research is to know about the impact of Constitution Court decision (The Abolition of RSBI/SBI Program) in schools and public institutions in this case about student guardian. This research is also expected to be able to give contribution for knowledge and science especially to research policy in education. The method of this research is qualitative research and case study. This research is held in SDN 26 Argamakmur which is one of Pioneering International School (RSBI). This research uses some informants; they are teachers and administration staffs of SDN 26 Argamakmur, student guardians, the officials of education and culture department of North Bengkulu regency and the officials of education and culture department of regional offices and also some policy experts in the field of education. This research finds out some facts that Constitution Court decision about the revocation of RSBI in SD BI 26 Argamakmur causes the result of psychology pressure for teachers as the spearhead of policy implementer. Before this decision published, the teachers who teach in this school have their own pride to teach in this school. Physically, RSBI School in Argamakmur has some facilities such as computer laboratory, Language laboratory, and ICT room. These facilities need high maintenance fund. Therefore, regional government still has responsibilities toward the impact of status alteration of this school. The alteration of status from RSBI school to regular school results on various impact for society especially students guardian. For the parents who have sent their children to RSBI School, there is a pride form the parents toward their children because they have basic skills that aren’t given in other schools. The skills are active English skill and computer skill. Many parents who have their children study in International Standard Primary School (SD BI) feel disappointed since there won’t be written international standard school in their children’s educational certificate. International predicate is considered as a pride for some parents. The steps taken by school have been based on circular letter of education and culture Minister of Indonesia dated January 30, 2013.
