Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a global issue since its prevalence increased  in line with  changes in  lifestyle, especially in dietary patterns and low physical activity. In Indonesia, “the Healthy Living Movement” or “Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat” (GERMAS) Program which was launched in 2016 consists of seven pillars including physical activity, consumption of fruits and vegetables, no smoking, no alcohol, early detection of disease, environmental health, and latrines usage. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between GERMAS Program and hypertension control among patients in Lhoknga Primary Health Care (PHC) in Aceh Besar, Indonesia. Method: This study is a cross-sectional, with the subjects  of 60 patients with hypertension in Lhoknga PHC, chosen by proportional sampling. Data were collected by interview and observation of blood pressure patients between 8 March and 26 March 2021. Data were analyzed univariate and bivariate using chi-square with significance p0.05. Results: The results show relationship between physical activity (p=0.019), consumption of fruits and vegetables (p=0.001), no smoking (p=0.038), routine health check (p=0.001), and hypertension control. Recommendation: Health workers in PHC are suggested to educate the community including patients with hypertension about GERMAS Program and support them in starting and maintaining a healthy living movement. Massive health education and socialization about GERMAS through various  media are also essential social marketing in improving health in the community.

Abstract

Background: The nutritional status of pregnant women is one of the indicators in measuring the nutritional status of the community. If the nutritional intake for pregnant women from food is not balanced with the body's needs, there will be a nutritional deficiency. As a result, it can cause maternal death caused by bleeding due to nutritional anemia and Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) during pregnancy. In Aceh province in 2017, pregnant women at risk of CED increased by 0.6% from the previous year, which was 8.7%. The highest risk of CED occurred at the Ulee Kareng Health Center, which in 2017 was 33 people (5.31%). The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of nutritional status in normal pregnant women and CED at the Ulee Kareng Health Center, Banda Aceh City. Method: This study was conducted using a comparative study method with a Case Control design. The population in this study were all pregnant women who experienced KEK as many as 30 people and those who did not experience KEK as many as 30 people. Sampling used the Purposive Sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire with an interview technique. Data analysis used T-Test test. Result: The results showed that there were differences in food intake (p value = 0.0015) and knowledge of nutrition during pregnancy (p value = 0.001) with nutritional status in normal pregnant women and KEK. There was no difference in pregnancy spacing (p value = 0.217), parity value (p value = 0.503) with nutritional status in normal pregnant women and KEK. Food intake and knowledge factors were the variables that most influenced the differences in nutritional status of normal pregnant women and KEK. Recommendation: It is hoped that health centers will be able to provide counseling and information about nutritious food for pregnant women so that they do not experience KEK.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is an indicator of failure to grow optimally which is characterized by a height z score (TB) for age below -2 SD. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia to decrease by 19% in 2019-2024. Meanwhile in Indonesia, the prevalence of stunting is still 27.67%, and in ten villages in Montasik District it is also still relatively high at 25%. This research aims  to determine the relationship between 4 (four) gold standards of nutrition and the incidence of stunting among toddlers in ten villages in Montasik District, Aceh Besar Regency in 2020. Method: This research uses descriptive analytical method with a cross- sectional design. The population is all toddlers aged 6-59 months in ten villages of Montasik District. Sampling using the Slovin formula resulted 64 toddlers using proportional random sampling techniques. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test with the SPSS-18 application. Results: The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between IMD (p value=0.004), exclusive breastfeeding (p value=0.004), breastfeeding until the age of 2 years (p value=0.037), and birth spacing (p value=0.013) and there was no relationship between breastfeeding practices MP-ASI (p value=0.063), and maternal TB (p value=0.058) with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in ten villages in Montasik District, Aceh Besar Regency in 2020. Recommendation: It is hoped that the Montasik Community Health Center will improve the principles of the 4 (four) gold standards of nutrition for children starting from early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD), exclusive breastfeeding, and MP-ASI until the age of 2 years through counseling at the Posyandu in each village. Midwives are expected to play more active role so that they can provide education to mothers and expectant mothers, therefore  they can anticipate childbirth intervals of ≥ 2 years so that child intake can be met to reduce the incidence of stunting.

Abstract

Background:Tinnitus is a health disorder that risks reducing worker productivity. Tinnitus is a common risk experienced by workers with high noise levels and long duration of noise exposure. Hearing loss in coffee factory workers can be caused by several factors including noise intensity, age, working hours per day, and length of service. The production section is a section that has a high risk of noise, this section carries out coffee grinding activities which require them to work optimally to produce quality products. Method: This research is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all workers from 3 coffee factories in Bener Meriah, totaling 47 people. The sampling technique uses the total population technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire, then statistical tests were carried out using the chi-square test, and data were analyzed using SPSS. Results: All workers (100%) complained of tinnitus with varying degrees of severity, 89.4% of workers were young, 87.2% had no previous history of ear disease, 72.3% of working hours did not meet standards, 61.7% had been working for a long time. From the results of statistical tests, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between age (p value=0.002), working hours per day (p value=0.037), length of service (p value=0.001), and complaints of tinnitus in coffee milling factory workers. Only one variable, a history of ear disease (p value=0.078), was not associated with tinnitus complaints. Recommendation: It is recommended that every coffee grinding factory owner provide ear protective equipment (APT) for every worker in his factory to avoid complaints of tinnitus.
