The age range for children who experience sexual violence is 5-15 years. Conditions of sexual violence have a huge psychological impact, such as fear, shame, sadness, and then easily get angry. This research aims  to determine the factors that influence sexual violence against children in Baiturrahman District, Kota Banda Aceh Method: This type of research is descriptive- analytical with a cross- sectional design. The population in this study was all children aged 10-15 years in Baiturrahman District totaling 10,834 children. Sampling used proportional sampling technique. The number of samples after using the Slovin formula was 82 respondents. Data collection was carried out from 3-13 July 2020 using a questionnaire. Analysis of data used  chi-square using the SPSS 22 program. Results: The results showed that there was no relationship between gender (p value=0.679), parenting status (p value=0.534), and reproductive health knowledge (p value=0.647), with violence sexual relations with children. There is a relationship between broken homes (p value=0.01) and parenting style (p value=0.001) with violence against children in Baiturrahman District, Kota Banda Aceh. Abstract

Background: Diarrhea is a disease that occurs when there is a change in stool consistency other than the frequency of bowel movements. A person is said to have diarrhea if their stools are more watery than usual, or if they have three or more episodes of loose stools within 24 hours that are non-bloody. Method: This research is analytical descriptive in nature, conducted from January 25 to February 20, 2019, at Lampulo Community Health Center. The study sample consisted of 76 mothers with toddlers. Primary data were obtained through interviews with the respondents, while secondary data were collected from Lampulo Community Health Center in Banda Aceh. Data processing was done using SPSS software, with statistical analysis employing non-parametric tests such as Chi-square, analyzed both univariately and bivariately. Result: There was no significant relationship found regarding access to clean water (p value = 0.558), sanitation facilities (p value = 0.238), breastfeeding practices (p value= 0.410), and handwashing habits (p value = 1.000). However, there was a significant association with immunization status (p value = 0.021). Recommendation: It is recommended that mothers regularly participate in all activities organized by integrated health posts (Posyandu), follow medical advice and treatment provided by healthcare providers at Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) to support optimal recovery. Regular health check-ups during these sessions are crucial for maintaining the health of toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Spraying pesticides that do not comply with regulations will result in many impacts, including health impacts for humans, namely poisoning farmers. In Aceh Province, there were 612 cases of pesticide poisoning in 2014 in various regions. This research aims to determine the factors related to compliance with using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among pesticide spraying farmers in Gampong Meunasah Blang Peudada Bireuen. Method: This research uses descriptive analytical methods with a crosssectional design. The population in this study were all pesticide spraying farmers in Gampong Meunasah Blang Bireuen. The sample is a total population of 46farmers. Data collection was carried out for 12 days from 1 to 12 January 2019 using questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test with the SPSS computer program. Result: Univariate research shows farmers who do not comply with using PPE (69.6%), poor knowledge (65.2%), negative attitudes (54.3%), secondary education level (43.5%), and medium length of work (50 %). The results of bivariate research show that there is a relationship between knowledge (p=0.03) and attitude (p=0.02) with compliance with using PPE among farmers. However, there was no significant relationship between education (p=0.20) and length of service (p=0.69) with compliance in using PPE among farmers. Recommendation: It is hoped that the Agricultural Extension Center can provide training to farmers on how to use PPE correctly when spraying pesticides and can provide education regarding the magnitude of the effects and dangers of using pesticides incorrectly.

Abstract

Background:  The Global Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) commitment targets reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) to 102 per 100,000 live births by 2015, followe by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) setting a new target of 70 per 100,000 live births in 2030. For a decade or ten years of observations of maternal mortality trends in North Aceh Regency  still show fluctuations. Method: This study examines the relationship between socio-cultural factors and cases of maternal death. Qualitative research by conducting (1) in-depth interviews with 10 key informants, namely midwives who provide services; (2) Focus Group Discussion with Puskesmas Management and Program Responsible Persons on maternal death case audit activities; (3) Documentation study of the track record of maternal deaths in the decade period 2013-2022. Result: The results shows that there is a downward trend although fluctuations of increase and decrease still occur within a decade of observation. The main immediate causes are due to bleeding and hypertension in pregnancy, the predominant place of death is in the hospital. The characteristics of multiparity mothers, ‘4 too’ pregnancies and delays in recognizing problems and making decisions indicate that socio-cultural factors are very influential on maternal mortality in North Aceh. Recommendation: Innovation is needed to reconstruct socio-cultural disadvantages such as late decisions making and the ideal number of children in a family.
