Abstract

Dynamic Bread Factory has suffered a very significant failure to reach the production target by finding a large number of defective products so that the use of materials becomes inefficient and also often the breakdown of the processing machine which affects the quantity of the final product becomes unoptimal. The study aims to analyze the index of productivity value on the production part of the Dynamic Bread Factory, identify factors causing the fluctuation of the production index and provide suggestions for improvements that can affect the increase in productiveness. OMAX methods and fishbone diagrams to measure and analyze productivity indices. The data processing results showed that the index varied, with the highest index in November increasing by 215.48% while the lowest in October experienced a significant decline of 73.50%. Five productivity ratios that have been measured indicate that ratio 1 and ratio 2 have the lower yields that are the cause of low productivities in the Dynamic Bread Factory.

Abstract

This article reviews an autonomous mobile robot with mecanum wheels using localization and mapping with Lidar. The mecanum wheeled robot is capable of autonomously moving from point A to point B. This study aims to determine the level of accuracy and precision in mapping to ensure the robot can operate efficiently, as well as to develop the ability to perform real-time environmental mapping using data obtained from the Lidar A2M12 sensor. It also aims to implement the SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithm to simultaneously determine the robot's position and orientation while mapping. For independent movement, the robot must be aware of its surroundings and its position within that environment. The method used is simultaneous localization and mapping using the RPLidar A2M12 sensor and ROS (Robot Operating System). Based on the testing results, the gmapping SLAM error rate is 3.34%, with a sensor distance and angle measurement error of 1.16%. Overall, this autonomous robot can be used even in open areas and with simple obstacles.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence technology allows the system to detect various objects. In the research on the classification of color and shape of products using the ELP-USB8MP02G-MFV camera based on YOLOV7, it aims to modify the conveyor on the molding machine. Because the conveyor only has the function of distributing goods from the molding machine to the bin and the length of time used to wait for the bin to be full is the reason why this conveyor is modified. Modifications are made by adding a camera that has been connected to the Raspberry Pi 4B on the conveyor, the camera functions to take pictures of passing product objects then the image is detected by the system on the Raspberry Pi 4B so that this conveyor machine can classify the objects produced by the molding machine. The system detects objects using the YOLOv7 algorithm. This study was carried out with three tests, namely object model detection testing, color detection testing and program and relay output testing where 98.11% was for object model detection testing, 97.37% for color detection and 100% for program and relay output testing.  The results of this research will contribute to the development of object detection, especially product object detection and the results of molding machines.

Abstract

This study employs the black-box method and qualitative user analysis. Data collection is conducted through surveys targeting users of the developed tool, aiming to identify common issues in online shopping with the Cash on Delivery (COD) payment method. These issues include customers not being at home when the courier delivers the package, resulting in repeated delivery attempts and delays in receiving packages. Based on this identification, the team determined a solution: creating a smart COD package receiver box integrated with a mobile application, equipped with barcode verification and a surveillance camera. The results show that 98% of users are satisfied with the convenience provided by the Kopin.COD system and feel significantly assisted by this technology. Additionally, survey results from customers or package recipients indicate that 100% of respondents are satisfied with the ease and convenience of use.

Abstract

PLTGU PT. Mitra Energi Batam has observed that Cooling Tower Unit 2 tends to produce hot steam in larger quantities compared to Unit 1. The greater production of hot steam in Cooling Tower Unit 2 certainly cannot be separated from the influence of ambient temperature (surrounding air temperature). Where the temperature around the Cooling Tower Unit 2 environment affects the performance of the Cooling Tower. The cooler the environment, the better the cooling tower performance. This research aims to determine the extent of influence of ambient temperature on the performance of Cooling Tower Unit 2 in terms of Range and Approach calculations and to evaluate the difference between "Range" and "Approach" calculations in measuring the performance of Cooling Tower Unit 2. Data collection was carried out for 8 hours in 1 days out of 10 days of data collection in November 2023. The Cooling Tower performance calculation method used is Range and Approach Evaluation, where Range is a calculation of incoming water temperature with outgoing water temperature and Approach is a calculation of outgoing water temperature with Wet Bulb Temperature (ambient air temperature Cooling Tower). Based on the Range Value Evaluation, the calculation results were found to be in the range of 9.52°C – 9.97°C and 8,391°C – 10,331°C. If the Range Value is smaller then the Cooling Tower performance can be said to be good, for the Approach Value the calculation results are found to be 16,515°C – 18,205°C and 17,625°C – 21,892°C. If the Approach value is smaller, then the Cooling Tower performance can be said to be good because the outlet water temperature can approach the value of the wet bulb temperature. For the Efficiency Value, the calculation results obtained were at values of 34.98°C – 37.26°C and 28.44% - 35.68%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test a data acquisition and calibration system for CanSat, a small nanosatellite designed as a cost-effective solution for collecting geographical and spatial data. CanSat collects data using BME-280, MPU-9250, and NEO-6M sensors, then transmits it via XBee to a GUI for controlling the release of the Heat Shield, parachute, and legs. The data is analyzed using statistical methods and transmitted via XBee S2C. The results show that the BME-280 has a standard error of 0.35 and a deviation of 0.77 for temperature, and a standard error of 0.06 with a deviation of 0.13 for air pressure. The altitude measurement has a standard error of 0.02 and a deviation of 0.05. Meanwhile, MPU-9250 has an average standard error of 0.34 and a deviation of 0.77 for angle orientation measurement. The design and testing of the leg control system conclude that it functions at 80% efficiency.

Abstract

The egg hatching process is an important stage in the poultry farming industry that requires optimal temperature and humidity control. This research develops an automatic egg hatcher equipped with Mamdani fuzzy logic-based control and Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring. The fuzzy system is used to precisely regulate temperature and humidity, while IoT technology enables real-time monitoring through a digital platform. The test results show high accuracy with an average error of 0.78% for temperature and 1.08% for humidity. IoT monitoring has reliable performance with a data transmission delay of 5-7 seconds. In addition, it achieved 71,4% hatchability, proving its effectiveness in creating optimal environmental conditions for hatching. It provides a modern solution that improves the efficiency, productivity, and quality of hatching eggs, and makes it easier for farmers to monitor and control the process automatically.

Abstract

The Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft has a system called landing gear indication which in its application uses a proximity sensor that is useful in providing information about the position of the landing gear. However, this system can experience problems where if the landing gear indication does not function, the pilot cannot obtain information from the instrument that ensures the position of the landing gear. The purpose of this study is to identify problems that often occur in the landing gear indication system on the aircraft. The analysis was carried out using the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method with the Fishbone Diagram approach. From the identification results, it was found that the main cause was a problem with the proximity switch sensor experiencing corrosion and changes in position which caused the signal reading to be inaccurate. For this reason, it is necessary to replace components and adjust the sensor position so that the system can run properly.

Abstract

Frame analysis plays a vital role in the Indonesian Wheeled Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI-B) by identifying design weaknesses and enabling optimization before building the physical robot. This study compares three frame designs: standard, modified standard, and the Tech United team's frame. Using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in SolidWorks, each design is tested under vertical (25 kg) and horizontal (80 kg) loads, simulating real competition conditions. The Tech United frame shows the best performance, with stress values of 5.8 MPa (vertical) and 180.0 MPa (horizontal), minimal displacements of 0.018 mm and 1.806 mm, and FOS values of 9.5 and 0.3, respectively. It also displays superior stiffness, stability, and a controlled damage zone where deformation is intentionally localized to absorb impact. These characteristics make the Tech United frame the most durable and reliable option, improving overall robot performance and ensuring it can withstand the demands of competition.

Abstract

Kualitas merupakan poin kritis pada wire harness, jika terjadi kelolosan cacat akan berdampak terhadap aliran listrik dan operasional mesin mobil. Permasalahan pada tingkat produk cacat section C&C Post Process Maret 2023 yang melampaui 27,2 PPM dari target yang diharapkan pada periode tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi factor yang menyebabkan cacat produk dan mengetahui factor dominan penyebab cacat pada hasil produksi. Hal ini mendasari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis akar permasalahan pada section ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Six Sigma dengan pendekatan DMAIC untuk mengukur dan menganalisis kualitas proses produksi yang berjalan. Analisis permasalahan ini difokuskan terhadap jenis cacat strand out dengan persentase kejadian tertinggi dan permasalahan diuraikan dengan faktor kegagalan 4M pada FTA. Selanjutnya uraian akar penyebab pada FTA dianalisis kembali pada FMEA untuk penentuan penerapan prioritas perbaikan. Prioritas perbaikan penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 3 penyebab kegagalan dengan RPN tertinggi. Tindakan perbaikan yang diterapkan menunjukkan adanya penurunan terhadap perolehan cacat strand out sebesar 67,5%. Namun, perolehan produk cacat pada April 2023 belum mencapai penurunan yang ditargetkan sebanyak 141 unit atau dengan selisih level sigma 0,21. Hasil ini menunjukkan pentingnya penerapan continuous improvement untuk meminimalisir risiko terjadinya kembali cacat secara berkala dan target tingkat produk cacat dapat tercapai. Rekomendasi perbaikan antara lain pembuatan plotting fixed applicator setiap mesin, pembuatan draft stnadar kerja penggunaan magnifying glass menerangi celah crimper dan mengecek hasil crimper pada wire serta memposisikan clemp lurus dengan rootbar agar insert wire dilakukan dalam posisi lurus.
