Abstract

The Ulu Manna area is classified as an area with high landslide potential because of its location and geological structure, which is hilly. The risk of landslides in the Ulu Manna area due to earthquakes in weak areas can be studied using ground shear strain (GSS). This study aimed to provide information on the potential of landslides in the Ulu Manna area, South Bengkulu Regency Indonesia. The data was collected using the Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method. The study area is 195.8 km2 and consists of 32 data collection points. The data processing was performed using WinMASW 5.2 HVSR and ArcGIS Desktop 10.8.2 software to obtain dominant frequency values, amplification values, subsurface soil vulnerability index values, maximum soil acceleration values, and soil shear strain values. The soil shear strain values obtained are on the order of 10-4 to 10-3, meaning that the dynamic characteristics of the soil in the study area are elastic-plastic. This plastic-elastic nature characterizes the area as an area with high landslide potential

Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi is one of the provinces that has the largest mining area in Indonesia. One of the main mining commodities is nickel, which has the largest natural resource potential of around 97.3 billion tons of nickel minerals. Mining has an important role in the development of a region because it produces industrial raw materials, a source of foreign exchange, employment and increases local revenue. On the other hand, mining can cause various threats or adverse impacts in the form of environmental damage and pollution. One of the areas experiencing adverse impacts from mining is Baliara Village, Bombana Regency. This study aims to determine the formulation of efforts to overcome and prevent seawater pollution by nickel waste using the green biochemistry approach. This research was conducted in April 2022 in Baliara Village, Bombana Regency using observation, interview and literature study approaches. The results showed that there are approaches that can be used to control or reduce nickel waste, namely using the flotation-filtration method, silica-modified tofu solid waste, utilization of mangrove vegetation as nickel heavy metal phytoremediation and the establishment of corporate social responsibility (CRS) by mining companies in controlling or monitoring environmental pollution. This approach is considered very effective in controlling pollution in the aquatic environment in Baliara Village, Bombana Regency, so that it can serve as scientific input and information for relevant parties in taking actions and policies in controlling pollution in the area

Abstract

This study aims to examine an important issue related to branding in the context of the public sector: namely the public interest in utilizing the Lorong library policy and utilizing digital literacy in science. This study applied a mixed-method method that analyzes data from 1.500 respondents using interview techniques and questionnaire distribution in the form of a Likerts scale. The data has been collected and analyzed in two forms, namely qualitative and quantitative forms. The results of study show that Lorong library managers apply various methods to manage people's interest in reading. Among them are carrying out various activities carried out in the library and providing free WIFI. It can be concluded that gender differences in reading interest are due to opportunities and free time, so that the development of knowledge is different between men and women and this influence on the achievement or level of welfare of the people. Furthermore, the existence of the Lorong Library is very helpful to the community, especially during Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The occurrence of social changes to the use of technology in everyday life makes multitasking media behavior increasingly potential for families. The use of these media raises various perceptions and assessments. This study aims to understand the behavior of multitasking media in parents as an initial information base for applying technology in parenting programs. This study describes the types of media, time of use, differences in media behaviour and perceptions of parents, barriers to the use of technology during parenting learning to the relationship between the number of barriers and perceptions of media use for families in parents. The research method used is quantitative descriptive and correlational. The subjects of this study were determined by purposive sampling technique, with the number of participants as many as 63 parents. This study found that 17.4% of parents were classified as heavy media multitaskers (HMM), 39.7% were classified as medium media multitaskers (MMM), and 42.9% of parents were classified as mild media multitaskers. Print media and television use for parents is relatively high and evenly distributed in computers, music, social media, browsing, and SMS. The duration of media use by parents is still dominated by 1 hour to 4 hours. There is no difference between mother and father with the Sig value (2-tailed)> 0.05, namely 0.087 and 0.084. This study also found that the perception of media use for parents to learn parenting was still moderate. The obstacles in using the media for parenting activities are the number of advertisements that appear, harmful internet content, invalid and reliable information obtained, poor website appearance, confusing content, connection disruption, unfriendly users, no accessible applications offline, no media support, perception of time-consuming that much until the information is too general, and can’t directly ask if learning is done online. However, these obstacles are separate from the perception of media use in parents
