Abstract

Computer Based Test (CBT) website-based chemistry national exam is an online-based chemistry exam system in terms of test prep and practice for a national exam, provided with item analysis. The results of the item analysis serve to determine the indicators of questions that are considered difficult by students so that the deepening of the materials is more accurate to the students’ needs. This research aims to develop a computer-based test (CBT) for students of Islamic High School (MA). The product is also categorized as Computer Based Test (CBT) because a computer is required to implement the exam. The development of CBT used the Borg and Gall model with five stages: (1) research and information collecting, (2) planning, (3) developing preliminary products (4) preliminary field testing, and (5) primary product revision. The instruments used were product validation sheets under the authority of media and IT experts, quality assessment sheets from reviewers (chemistry teacher of MA), and student response sheets. Based on the assessment of reviewers (chemistry teachers of MA), the developed product, website-based chemistry test obtained an ideal percentage of 91% with the very good category (VG), and student response was 92% with the very good category (VG). Therefore, it can be concluded that the website-based chemistry test is feasible for national exam practice.

Abstract

Many activities and lecture assignments of student cause students unable to divide their time well. Playing games or social media cause students often sleep late at night, and this has an impact on the disturbance of sleep quality. This study aims to identify the sleep quality of college students at Manokwari West Papua Province. We conducted cross sectional research in male and female students aged of 18-25 years who carry out activities on campus. Sleep quality data was collected through semi-structural interviews using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire.  Our results showed that most Papua University students had poor sleep quality (78%) in the past 1 month. The sleep quality of girls (48%) were poorer than boys (30%).

Abstract

This study aims to develop a project-based learning assessment instrument to measure scientific literacy and students creative thinking skills on work and energy material that is valid, reliable, and practical to use. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) using 7 development steps adapted from Borg & Gall (1989). The results of the expert validation of the scientific literacy skills assessment instrument and students creative thinking skills were declared valid with a very high category. In the results of the data test analysis, there were 20 questions on the scientific literacy ability instrument and 18 questions on the creative material of the thinking ability instrument which were declared valid. Meanwhile, in the practicality test, this assessment instrument obtained very high criteria. based on the results that have been obtained, the final product is a project-based learning assessment to measure students’ scientific literacy and creative thinking abilities in the developed business and energy material that meets the eligibility standards of the instrument, that is valid, reliable and practical.

Abstract

The development of 21st century education requires students to have 21st century skills, one of which is critical thinking skills and scientific literacy as well as technological developments that are developing rapidly so that STEM-based teaching materials are very popular for use. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of similar research using STEM integrated science learning on students' scientific literacy abilities and critical thinking skills. The method used in this investigation is meta-analysis. The research results obtained are First, the effect of several similar studies on STEM-integrated science learning shows that STEM-integrated science learning has a very high influence on students' scientific literacy abilities and students' critical thinking skills. Second, the effect of several similar studies based on educational level shows that high school level has a higher influence on students' scientific literacy skills and students' critical thinking skills. Third, the influence of several similar studies based on the learning model used shows that the PBL model has a higher influence on students' scientific literacy skills and students' critical thinking abilities. Fourth, the effect of several similar studies based on learning subjects shows that biology subjects have a higher influence than physics and science subjects.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Malang City Monument Square, East Java. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of angiosperm plants in Malang City Monument Square. This research was conducted using a quantitative method because it requires observation to obtain the desired data such as the types and characteristics of the angiosperm plants. In this study, sampling and identification of the morphology of the angiosperms were carried out by means of a descriptive analysis of the roots, stems and leaves. The analysis was carried out based on literature studies from various sources. Based on the results of these observations, 19 species of plants were found in Malang City Monument Square including Seroja, Nusa Indah Flowers, and Ganyong

Abstract

Moss plants (Bryophyta) are living things that include multi-celled green plants. Growing mosses (Bryophyta) are known to have a simple arrangement of organs. This study examines the biodiversity of moss plants which aims to determine the biodiversity of moss plants found around Rojo Camp Gardens, Dau District, Malang Regency. This study uses the observation method to collect data by direct observation. This method is used as an observation of the object of research, especially on the focus of the problem under study. The data obtained was in the form of the number of species and body morphological characteristics of the moss plant species. The results of the study found that 7 types of moss plants were found with different body morphologies. The special characteristics of moss plants are that they have rhizoids and leaves, but do not yet have true roots, stems and leaves. Moss plants have a role in ecosystems, including as water absorbers (the nature of their cells resembles sponges), to retain moisture, produce oxygen through a fast photosynthetic process and as pollutant absorbers so that these moss plants can be found around Rojo Camp Gardens, Dau District, Malang Regency.

Abstract

Poaceae is an organism that can live and develop, generally found in tropical areas or areas with air temperature with sufficient rainfall to form grasslands. Poaceae have an important role as a barrier to erosion at the foot of the cliff. This study aims to determine the diversity of plants in the Poaceae family. The research was conducted by descriptive observation with observation techniques. The specimen collection method was roaming which was carried out in the Teletubbies Hill area, Bumiaji Village, Batu City, East Java. In collecting specimens, abiotic data were also collected as environmental parameters in the form of rainfall, number of rainy months, average daily temperature, and height above sea level to support the identification process. Based on the observation results, 6 species of the Poaceae family were found. The species found were Sporobolus indicus, Imperata cylindrical, Digitaria ciliaris, Lepetochloa, Bothriochloa ischaemum and Eragrostis unioloides.

Abstract

This research was conducted after the development of e-modules for Newton’s Laws. This was to analyze the students’ critical thinking skills consisting of indicators providing basic alignment, using logic thinking, providing arguments, conducting evaluations, and making decisions. The study was conducted on 62 students at two high schools in Surakarta. The study used descriptive analysis methods using differences in gain values, normality tests, homogeneity, and paired t sample tests and was conducted in 2021. The results showed that students’ critical thinking skills increased after using E-module. The increase was derived from an N-Gain value of 0.60 for overall critical thinking skills and for each aspect of the increase in the moderate category. This research is expected to capture the profile of students’ critical skills and the effectiveness of e-modules in online learning.

Abstract

Students must possess 21st century abilities, including the ability to think critically and creatively, in order for education to be developed for this century. Teaching materials are required to support students' learning as they develop these skills. The development of the 21st century cannot be separated from technological developments which are developing rapidly so that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based teaching materials are very popular to use. The goal of the study was to ascertain how STEM-based instructional materials affected students' capacity for critical and creative thought. The research method used is meta-analysis of 22 national and international journal articles. The research results obtained are with variations in the level of educational units, teaching material subjects, critical and creative thinking skills as well as the variety of teaching materials used state that the use of STEM-based teaching materials has a significant influence on students' critical and creative thinking skills. The conclusion from this meta-analysis research is that there is a significant influence from the use of STEM-based teaching materials on students' critical and creative thinking skills
