Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine and recognize the achievement of improving students' creative thinking abilities through the application of demonstration learning methods on the subject of changes in the nature of objects in Ciampel Elementary School. Specifically, the targets to be achieved are as follows: 1) To determine the level of creative thinking of grade V students of SDN Ciampel before the demonstration method is conducted. 2) To determine the level of creative thinking of the fifth grade students of Ciampel Elementary School after the demonstration method was conducted. 3) To find out whether the application of the demonstration method can improve the creative thinking of class V students of SDN Ciampel. The method used is qualitative using classroom action research (CAR). The subject of the research was the fifth grade students with 30 students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of social skills for elementary school students. Social skills are abilities that must be possessed by every individual to function well in their social environment. Social skills must be instilled through the stages of learning and habituation. One of the approaches to instill social skills is through marching band activities. This research aimed at finding out how marching band activities can emerge and develop students' social skills. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study research design. Three ways of collecting data were used to obtain data, which are interviews, observation, and documentation. As a result, marching band activities can bring up various social skills of students, including basic interaction skill, basic communication skill, team or group building skill, and problem-solving skill. Meanwhile, the factors that influenced the formation of social skills in marching band activities in elementary schools are group activity factor, situation factor, regulatory factor, program or design factor, and peer relationship factor.

Abstract

There are many ways that can be done in an effort to improve science learning outcomes in schools. One way is to choose the right learning method. This study aims to see the effect of experimental learning methods, expository learning methods and critical thinking skills on science learning outcomes. This research was conducted with a sample of 74 students. The research design used an experimental method with treatment by level 2 x 2. Data analysis used 2-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results of this study are that there are differences in the results of students learning science with experimental learning methods between students who learn using expository learning methods; there is an interaction between the learning method and students' critical thinking skills on science learning outcomes; The results of learning science between students who learn with experimental learning methods who have higher critical thinking skills are higher than students who learn using expository learning methods who have high critical thinking skills; The results of learning science between students who learn with experimental learning methods who have low critical thinking skills are lower than students who learn using expository learning methods who have low critical thinking skills. This study implies that the application of experimental learning methods can improve students' critical thinking skills so that it can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of problem-solving in science learning in elementary schools. Also, it is known that many problems occur in science learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the scenario and implementation of science problem solving using the PjBL model, teacher and student responses, and difficulties experienced by students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were students of grade IV with a total of 30 students consisting of 14 female students and 17 male students. The results showed that there was an increase in the quality of learning when the PjBL model was applied. Thus it can be concluded that the results of the study aimed at the scenario and learning implementation were shown by the results of the teacher's average score of 77.89% and students of 78.33% which was in the good category, the teacher's response got 82% and the student's response got 84% which was very categorized. good, as well as the difficulties experienced by students with an average of 27% found in the indicators of understanding the problem and making strategy designs.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education model and the results of the evaluation of Realistic Mathematic Education in learning material building spaces in grade 1 students of SDIT Al-Fajar Bandung. The research method applied in this study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, namely research that provides an analysis of improving the understanding of mathematical concepts in building material with the existing procedures in applying the RME model, namely the preparation, opening, learning, and final stages. The evaluation of the RME model is seen from student activities based on aspects of oral activities and sees students who are enthusiastic and active in participating in learning activities, do not disturb friends while studying, dare to come to the front of the class and work on questions calmly and not in a hurry. The results showed that the application of the RME learning model on building materials could increase student learning activities and improve student learning outcomes. It can be seen from the results of the pretest students who achieved learning completeness by 27% then experienced an increase in the post-test results to 77%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the scenario and implementation of learning science concept understanding for fourth-grade elementary school students on the material of sound propagation using the cooperative model type investigation group. observation, it turns out that the understanding of the fourth-grade science concept in elementary school is still low. This is the case the researcher uses the cooperative model type group investigation as a solution to improve students' understanding of science concepts to be better. The research method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative method, this is so the researcher can explain the efforts made by the teacher in improving the quality of learning, especially in the material of sound propagation. The subjects in this study were students of grade IV in a state school in West Bandung Regency, which amounted to 30 students, consisting of 15 male students and 15 female students. Based on the results obtained during the implementation of the learning process, the results of the increase in the average score of the science concept understanding test results were 100%. It can be concluded that the results of the study indicate that there is a significant increase.

Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical problems is very important in learning mathematics and needs to be developed from students at the elementary school level. This study aims to examine the scenarios and implementation of mathematics learning in the mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students in class III using the Snowball Throwing learning model, the response of teachers and elementary school students in grade III to mathematics learning in problem solving skills using the Snowball Throwing learning model, and the difficulties difficulties experienced by third grade elementary school students in solving mathematical problem solving problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the subject of this research is the third grade students at SDIT Uswatun Hasanah Cimahi. The instruments used in the study were tests, questionnaires, interview guidelines, and observation sheets. The conclusions of this research are: 1) In carrying out mathematics learning activities in fractional material, snowball throwing learning model is very suitable to be implemented. 2) The teacher gives a very good impression of the learning carried out by the researcher. 3) The students' difficulties in this problem solving indicator are students having to think many times when taking the evaluation test.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of students understanding the concept of the material well. This study aims to obtain a description of the achievement and improvement of poetry reading comprehension skills for fourth-grade elementary school students using the Think Pair Share (TPS) model. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. In this study, the population was taken as grade IV SD students. As for the samples of this study were students of the Mutiara Bunda Elementary School in Bandung City class 4 Surfing, totaling 20 people. The instrument used in this study was a short questionnaire containing 5 questions of poetry text. Data analysis was carried out by qualitative descriptive. The data is taken from the results of observations, interviews, written tests, and filling out questionnaires. In the calculation of test instruments and data processing using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 22 programs. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the students' reading comprehension ability to read poetry was achieved using the Think Pair Share model. Students find it easier to understand the meaning and vocabulary in poetry as well as train their confidence by expressing opinions and discussing with their partners in small groups.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the hand on activity method affected the ability of elementary students to understand the mathematical concept of multiplication material. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent pretest-postest design. The population in this study were all class II SD Plus Al - Aitaam Bandung for the 2019/2020 academic year with a sample of 112 students. The sampling technique was taken by using a purposive sampling technique. In this study, two classes were used as the research sample and two classes were chosen to be used as research with the category A-class (II Utsman) as the experimental class and class B (II Hafsoh) as the control class. Based on the results of the ANOVA test, it turns out that in the learning class using the hands-on activity method with the lecture method the sig value = 0.040, and the value is smaller than α = 0.05, which means that H1 is accepted, H0 is rejected. Because Ha is accepted, the hypothesis which states that there are differences in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn to use hands-on activity with the lecture method is accepted. It can be concluded that there are differences in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn using the hands-on activity method with students who learn using the lecture method.

Abstract

The culture that is owned by a community has a unique knowledge value (local wisdom). The fruit of thought from a culture needs to be preserved as early as possible to preserve the existing history, efforts that can be made are the application of ethnoscience as a learning resource in elementary schools. Past research on this topic was categorized and compared. The method used is a literature review with a sample of 12 articles indexed on Google Scholar in the last 5 years (2015-2020). The discussion on this topic is analyzed comprehensively. The results showed that there were various applications of ethnoscience in learning. This study is to provide an overview and important information about ethnoscience towards learning in elementary schools and also as a reference for further research.
