Abstract

The research aim to identify the mechanical properties of  Areca nut fiber composite.. Pinangs fiber composite board uses polyester resin as a binder. Areca nut fiber that used in this research is fiber obtained from pinang which is old and not used anymore. The sample was made by varying the concentration of fiber used (30%, 40%, 50% 60% and 70%). From the results of tests conducted, there are differences in mechanical properties of pine fiber composite material on tensile test and press tests performed. In tensile test, composite of pinang fiber with 50% fiber concentration is the fiber with the best mechanical properties because it has the highest tensile strength, maximum length and maximum load, that is 16.35 MPa, 2.06 mm and 3147.45 N. Meanwhile, Composite betel fiber with a concentration of 30% has the highest broken modulus (MOR) at 30.43 kg / cm2, and elastic module of 1980.2 MPa

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences of generic skills through the application of inquiry learning model and Problem Based Learning (PBL) in review of the students' different academic ability in SMAN 1 Kayangan. The type of research is quassi experiment with 2x2 factorial design. The population in this study are all students of science class X1, X2 and X3 in SMAN 1 Kayangan with sampling using purposive sampling technique, so that the samples taken are class X science 1 and class X science 2 by implementing different learning model. Data analysis technique using anakova test. Hypothesis test results obtained Fcount = 20,441 with significance level 0,000 (p <0,05) indicate there are difference of generic science skill significant between class X science 1 with mnggunakan inquiry model and kels X science 2 by using PBL learning model. Result of hypothesis test of generic science skill with applying of inquiry learning model to academic ability obtained Fhitung = 34.448 with significance level 0,000 (p <0,05) indicates the interaction of inquiry learning model and PBL toward generic science skill. Abstract

This study aims to improve critical thinking skills through the application of science-based learning tools REMAP TMPS model ( Reading Concept Map Timed Pair Share ). The type of research was quasi experiment with One Group Pretest-Postest design . The population in this study were all students of class VII at SMPN 4 Pujut and SMPN 6 Pujut with sampling using purpusive sampling technique so that the samples taken are class VII-A at SMPN 4 Pujut and VII-B in SMPN 6 Pujut. instruments used to measure critical thinking skills in the form of answer-question as much as 10. The results showed the average N-gain class VII-A higher than class VII-B. This suggests that REMAP TMPS-based science learning tools has effective toword student critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Producing active charcoal to be absorbent for ion Fe2+ and Co2+ had been done by using waste of bagasse. The objective of study was to utilize waste of bagasse to be active charcoal, so it can be used for absorbent. Initially, it was carbonized by using pyrolysis at temperature of 300-400oC for 5 hours. Then, it was activated by solving to ZnCl 2 10% for 24 hours, filtered and washed by using distilled water. Wet active charcoal was drained in oven for 9 hours at temperature of 110oC. After that, the analysis stage was started by inserted the absorbent into 10 mL samples which are contained various concentration of ion Fe2+ and Co2+ with variation of 1 gram, 2 grams, and 3 grams for 10 ppm solution. The, it was stirred by contacted time of 10, 20, and 30 minutes. By the previous treatment, it was indicated that the best contacted time for Fe2+ is 30 minutes with 3 grams absorbent which is showed by color change from yellow to colorless with a removal percentage of 95%. For the same case, Co2+ has removal percentage of 98% for 3 grams absorbent with contacted time of 30 minutes which is showed by color change from pink to faded. Abstract

The effects of temperature on PVA (Poly Vinyl Alcohol) based organic blends containing chlorine have been studied for their potential applications in electrochemical devices. The composite polymers PVA-Chloral Hydrate (CH) blends were blended separately with 23, 34, 45 and 57% CH.  The composite films were prepared by solvent-casting method and each film has been heated different temperature up to 353 K. The electrical properties have been studied using LCR meter and impedance analyzer in the frequency range from 20 Hz to 1 MHz. The conductivity-temperature relation study revealed that an increase conductivity of the PVA-CH blends with increasing temperature up to 353 K. The increase of conductivity with temperature is attributed to the increase of free ion mobility due to thermal energy kT and possible more ions gained kinetic energy via the thermally activated hopping of charge carriers between trapping sites and phonon-assisted quantum tunneling through a barrier separating two equilibrium positions. The conductivity activation energy obtained decreases with the blend composition increases. Keywords: Influence, Temperature, Conductivity, Polymer Films

Abstract

Some problems found in Process Evaluation and Learning Outcomes of Biology was the student difficult to understand the subject, the media that used in learning was power point, and the subject unavailability of learning resources that can guide and make students independent study. Thus it necessary to develop of handout based on guided discovery method. The purpose of this research was to develop handout based on guided discovery method on Process Evaluation and Learning Outcomes of Biology subject. This was development research with use 4D model. This research is limited in the Develop phase for know the validity of handout. The instruments is handout validity analysis questionaire. Data analysis use percentage formula. The result show that validity of handout was 89,38 with high valid criteria. It can be concluded that handout based on guided discovery method had been valid.Keywodrs : validity, handout, guided discovery method

Abstract

Nowadays the need for fuel has always improved as following the increase in community and industry activities. Therefore, we need to search for resources of alternative energy. The tobacco rod is one of the lignocellulosic materials which has three main components namely cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. The production of bioethanol from lignocellulosic materials is strongly influenced by the composition of cellulose in its raw materials. This research use  the cellulose extraction of tobacco rods by a bases method on NaOH concentrations are 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10% and 12.5% (v/v) . The results show that the concentration of NaOH strongly influences the yield of cellulose extracted. The highest cellulose yield of the extraction is obtained on 12.5% of NaOH concentration. Keywords:Extraction, cellulose, tobacco rod, bioethanol

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the level of understanding of STKIP Weetebula students on RPP components, and (2) the ability of STKIP Weetebula students in preparing lesson plans. This research was conducted in Sumba Barat Daya District, East Nusa Tenggara. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects were taken by purposive random sampling technique, as many as 40 people from 130 students spread over 4 study programs. Data collection uses an open questionnaire instrument and RPP format equipped with SK and KD according to the sub-field of research. The conclusion of the results of this study is first, students' understanding of the Learning Implementation Plan or RPP component is basically good, but in practice, students need to be trained to implement RPP. In addition, students 'understanding of the learning model needs to be improved, this is in line with the results of the students' work in preparing the student lesson plans, not paying enough attention to the model steps. Second, the ability to prepare lesson plans. Students in preparing lesson plans are generally good. The weakness of the student lies in the ability to describe KD in the form of indicators not yet answering the minimum KD standards, learning objectives have not shown goals that can be measured and achieved, to differentiate indicators from objectives, students only add student subjects, and use the same operational verbs for all purposes learning no mention of the forms of apperception activities carried out. At the core activities, the learning steps are not in accordance with the stages of the learning model, and in the final activity there is no explanation of the direct or indirect benefits of the material being taugh. Keywords: Student understanding, Learning Implementation Plan
