Abstract

Students' low critical thinking skills are a problem that must be solved. Critical thinking is also related to motivation, because student motivation is seen as a necessary prerequisite for critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the differences in the improvement of critical thinking skills and the differences in students' learning motivation using the Stim-HOTs learning model combined with the brainstorming method and SAC media on metabolic material. This study uses a quasi-experimental method withNonrandomized Control Group design, Pre-test Post-test Design.The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 230 students consisting of the control group and the experimental group. The instrument used to measure critical thinking skills used 40 multiple-choice reasoned questions, while motivation was measured using 30 ARCS motivation questionnaires. Data analysis used independent sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that there were differences in the improvement of critical thinking skills and there were differences in students' learning motivation on metabolic material in class XII after the application of the Stim-HOTs learning model combined with the brainstorming method and SAC media. The conclusion of this study is that the Stim-HOTs learning model combined with the brainstorming method and SAC media can be applied to improve critical thinking skills and students' motivation to learn on the subject of metabolism

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the increase in scientific literacy skills of students who were taught with a science process skills approach with those taught using a direct learning model in physics learning. This study uses a quantitative approach to the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design experiment. The population used in this study were students of class XI MIA with a sample of 60 people taken by random sampling. The instrument used in this study was a test question in the form of an essay. The data of this study were analyzed using the average test, N-gain and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the average value of scientific literacy in the experimental class was in the high category and the control class in the medium category. In addition, based on the independent sample t-test, it was found that there was a significant difference in the increase in students' scientific literacy skills. So, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the improvement of students' scientific literacy skills in learning Physics taught with a science process skills approach with those taught using a direct learning model.

Abstract

The development research carried out intends to develop an Archimedes Law Material E-Module on the Motion System to improve the understanding of the Learner's Concept. Product development uses the ADDIE model. Validation of material experts, media experts and testing the responses of teachers and students is a product trial design carried out. The validation of the material and the E-module media was carried out by five peer reviewers, the teacher response questionnaire was carried out by four teachers from several schools in Yogyakarta and Central Java. The E-Modul trial was tested on 25 class VIII students of SMPIT Bakti Insani with a quasi-experimental pretest posttest control group design. The results of the material expert validation data showed an average of 96.67% in the "very good" category, the media expert validation data showed an average of 96.83%, and the teacher's response results showed an average of 86.64% with the "very good". Trials were also conducted on students by obtaining an average presentation on each component aspect, namely according to the criteria, language, graphics and usability with an average proportion of e-modules of 82.03% with the criteria of "very good". The results of understanding the concept of students were carried out pretest posttest control group design with experimental and control classes. The results of the increase are quite effective with an average N-Gain of 62.9%. In addition, the acquisition of students who completed the Minimum Passing Criteria was 100 percent, while only 83.33% had completed the Minimum Passing Criteria in the control class. On the whole it can be guaranteed that the E-module is very feasible and effective enough to be applied in learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of flipped classroom based on guided inquiry learning system on acid-base solutions toward students learning outcomes of XI class senior high school students that had been tested valid and practical. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample class used was XI Mipa 1 as a control class and XI Mipa 2 as an experimental class, with the total of students were 69 using the purposive sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a multiple choices question to assess students learning outcomes in the cognitive domain. The result of this study to obtain the N-gain value from the experimental class and control class with the values are 0.80 and 0.73, respectively, which indicates the value of experimental class is higher than control class. Furthermore, for the t-test, the value is 3.18, and the t-table value is 1.99. It concludes that using flipped classroom based on guided inquiry learning system on acid-base solutions improve students learning outcomes effectively

Abstract

There are three types of student learning styles used in the study, namely visual, auditory and kinesthetic and four types of thinking styles used in this study, namely Concrete Sequential, Abstract Sequential, Concrete Random, and Abstract Random. This study aims to analyze the level of understanding of physics concepts in terms of students' learning styles and thinking styles and examines learning styles and thinking styles that most influence the level of conceptual understanding. This study uses a quantitative approach, survey methods, and descriptive techniques. The population in this study were all students of SMAN 9 Banda Aceh, while the sample was 116 grade 2 students of SMA Negeri 9 Banda Aceh. Data analysis used descriptive statistical tests and data triangulation. The results of the analysis show that the level of understanding of students is at the second level, namely not understanding dominance compared to other levels of understanding concepts. Furthermore, it is obtained that a high kinesthetic learning style affects the level of understanding of concepts with a visual learning style. As for the thinking style, it was found that the concrete sequential thinking style was more dominant in influencing the level of conceptual understanding compared to other thinking styles

Abstract

Learning during a pandemic requires teachers to innovate in developing teaching materials that can be used in online learning. The use of problem-based learning-based electronic student worksheets (SW) can be an innovative solution for teaching materials that are integrated with technological developments that can help the online learning process. This study aims to analyze the differences in students' problem-solving abilities between classes that use problem-based learning-based electronic student worksheets and classes that do not use problem-based learning-based electronic student worksheets on acid-base materials and analyze the effective contribution of the application of problem-based electronic worksheets. -based learning on students' problem-solving abilities on acid-base material. This research is a Quasi Experiment research type with post-test only control-group type. The research instruments used are syllabus, lesson plans, problem-based learning-based electronic worksheets and problem-solving skills. The data analysis technique in this study consisted of 2 analyzes, namely the independent sample t-test and effect size analysis. The results of the development research show that: (1) there are differences in the problem-solving abilities of students between classes that use problem-based learning-based electronic student worksheets and those that do not use problem-based learning-based electronic student worksheets on acid-base materials for class XI MIPA, (2) Problem-based learning-based electronic worksheets provide an effective contribution to students' problem-solving abilities on acid-base materials with a percentage of 2.5%.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, all learning activities were carried out online, including practicum activities. To find out the success of practicum activities carried out online, this research was carried out. This study aims to develop a practicum learning video based on local wisdom to improve the scientific literacy of prospective elementary school teacher students. The development of learning videos based on local wisdom is a product produced by students while participating in online practicum activities. This research was conducted with a quasi-experimental method. The research subjects used were 20 fifth semester elementary school teacher education students who were selected by convenience sampling. The instrument developed in the form of multiplechoice questions as many as 20 questions that have been tested for validation and reliability and used for pretest and posttest. Data from students' pretest and posttest results were processed by stacking Rasch model analysis to determine changes in students' scientific literacy skills before and after participating in online practicum with videos based on local wisdom. Based on the results of the student's pretest and posttest analysis, data obtained from the logit value change from 1.2 to 3.2 and categorization was carried out based on the increase in scientific literacy skills, namely 20% low category, 65% moderate, and 15% high. Based on these results, online practicums with local wisdom-based learning videos are able to explore students' scientific literacy skills and can be applied to other practicums. In addition, students' technological literacy skills are also trained

Abstract

This research aims to generate a guided inquiry-based interactive multimedia on an Acid-Based product. It also categorizes its validity and practicality. The method of research used in this paper is research that will create a certain product called Research and Development (R&D). Three phases of the Plomp Model will be used in this research including preliminary research phase, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. In this research, the instrument will be used in a questionnaire consisting of a validity sheet and practicality sheet. The actual product was validated by 6 chemistry expert validators and 3 multimedia expert validators. The practicality test was carried out by 2 chemistry teachers and 33 students of XI MIPA 3 from SMAN 2 Padang Panjang. The data analysis technique used is Aiken’s V technique for validity and the percentage technique for practicality. The result of the analysis of the chemistry expert validation and multimedia expert validation data based on Aiken’s V value showed a result of 0,92 and 0,98 with a valid category. The practicality of interactive multimedia results was 88,33 and 87,60 with a very high practice. The interactive multimedia that has been produced is valid and practical to be used.

Abstract

Online learning is one of the efforts made by the government in the education sector to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of the application of online learning to science lessons in biology material during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research method is descriptive. The results showed that the implementation of online learning of Biology Science material class VIII MTs in Gorontalo City in the teacher aspect included strong criteria as seen from 5 indicators, namely online learning tools, online learning processes, student participation in online learning, online practicum implementation and the assessment process. The implementation of online learning on the material of Biology Science class VIII MTs in Gorontalo City on student aspects includes strong criteria as can be seen from 4 indicators, namely the online learning process, student participation in online learning, implementation of online practicum and increasing creativity. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of online learning of biology science material class VIII MTs in Gorontalo City is a strong criterion.

Abstract

Research activities carry out measurements for science literacy ability contained in ethnoscience values by making electronic Student Work learning tools students worksheets that are useful for students. Ethnoscience is related to the concept of local culture contained in the electronic Student Worksheet learning tool students worksheet which is used as a source of learning and learning activities while science literacy skills will provide motivation and interest in learning in understanding learning materials and improving. Thus the realization of a research objective, namely to determine the feasibility test of material experts, media experts, and practicalization experts from learning tools for the development of students’ worksheet learning tools to carry out ethnoscience based on science literacy on the material for the classification of living things at Muhammadiyah Langsa High School. The research method is a method of product development of students' worksheet learning devices. The results showed that products that have been made and validated by material experts, media experts, and practicalization experts state that the products are suitable for use for sourcing learning media in learning and learning activities of students and teachers. This research can also be concluded that the overall average of expert assessments of students’ worksheet product validation is feasible
