Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' creative thinking skills based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in basic physics 1 subject, the physics education study program at Pattimura University. The research subjects were 22 students in semester 1 class of 2022. This research uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive research types. The research design used is a one shot case study. The instruments in this study are, 1) Observation sheets, to assess student creativity during the learning process. 2) Questionnaire sheet, to see student responses related to CTL learning and creative thinking skills. Data analysis in this study was carried out using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that indicators of creative thinking skills have percentages, namely Elaboration of 60.61%, Flexibility of 57.58%, and Originality of 56.06%. The three indicators have percentages above 50% and the average final score for creative thinking skills for physics students class of 2022 is 58.08. So it can be said that creative thinking skills are sufficiently mastered by students. Student response data to learning using the CTL model was obtained at 73.27% in the satisfactory category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' creative thinking skills based on CTL are sufficiently mastered by students

Abstract

This study aims to Produce Class V Science learning modules using the SQ3R method as learning media, Describe the feasibility of Class V Science learning modules, and Analyze the effectiveness of implementing Science learning modules prepared using the SQ3R method in improving reading skills understanding of fifth grade students at SDN Inpres Kala, Bima Regency. This research is an ADDIE model development research. The results of this research resulted in even semester Class V Science learning modules compiled using the SQ3R method (survey, question, read, recite, and review). The module has been validated by experts and has the criteria of being very suitable for use as a learning medium with the eligibility percentage of media experts 98%, material experts 95%, linguists 94%, practitioners 96%, and peer review 92%, and a very good response from teachers by 85%, and 90% students. Science learning modules prepared using the SQ3R method can improve students reading comprehension skills, this is obtained based on the results of hypothesis testing paired sample t-test with result themselves. 2 tailed of 0.000 <0.05, and with a mean-value comparison pretest 42.64 and posttes 55.27. From these results it can be concluded that students reading skills experienced a significant increase.

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global partnership's urgent call to action from all developed and developing countries to build a sustainable future. Students play an essential role in achieving this goal because they are the primary objects of formal education who can be involved through concrete actions and appropriate and effective decision-making. In order to achieve this goal, sustainable development capability and capacity, as measured by sustainability literacy, are required. The purpose of this study is to gather information about students' initial perceptions of environmental change subject in relation to students' sustainability literacy. The method used is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. This study was conducted in February 2023 on 34 students from grade XI in SMAN 1 Bandung who had already completed the subject. Students' sustainability literacy was assessed using a questionnaire. Descriptive analysis was used to examine the data. Finding indicated that the indicator of knowledge was worth 43% within very bad category, knowledge of skills had a value of 44% with a very bad category as well and mindset was worth 55% with a bad category. As a result, it is possible to conclude that students' sustainability literacy is of very bad quality.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a STEAM-based e-module for mastering the topic of human blood circulation. The developed e-module is named "Radar.” "Radar" e-module from the content validity analysis test obtained a content validity value of 0.9167, construct validity of 0.9208, and language validity of 0.8819. The final validity value of the e-module was 0.9065 with valid criteria. The practicality test results get a percentage of 86.67% and are included in the convenience category. Based on the validity and practicality of test results, the "Radar" e-module is feasible and practical to use to improve students' concepts of human blood circulation

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is a disease that causes the hajimena health center to be included in the top 9 health centers with dengue endemic areas. In 2021, the Incidence rate (IR) is 45.29 per 100,000 residents. One of the causes of this disease is due to the lack of role of community leaders in preventing DHF. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, motivation and information sources of community leaders on DHF prevention behavior. This type of research is quantitative research with an analytic research design and a cross sectional approach. The sample is 67 community leaders with 7 hamlet heads and 60 RTs taken using total sampling technique. With analysis using the Chi – square test. This research was conducted in October–March 2023. The results of the univariate analysis showed good knowledge of 61.19%, positive attitude of 58.21%, high motivation of 53.73%. Verbal information sources at 56.72% and non-verbal information sources at 43.28%. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and motivation with DHF prevention behavior with p-values ​​(0.00), (0.00), and (0.00). There is no relationship between information sources and DHF prevention behavior (0.90). The need for the role of health workers to form a community or group of community leaders who are named or term "Tomato DHF" (community leaders prevent DHF) and activate counseling activities regarding DHF prevention with 3M Plus

Abstract

Earthquakes occur due to the sudden release of energy from within the earth causing seismic waves. Earthquake activity with a magnitude ³ 3.5 SR is grouped over 21 years from 2000-2020 to determine the level of seismicity in Seram Island, Buru Island, and surrounding areas. The area of seismic activity is clustered over three blocks. The purpose of this research is to determine the seismicity level and mitigation model in each block in the research area. The results showed that seismic activity in the study area with shallow earthquakes was mostly in Block II as many as 1195 times (40.4%) and Block III as many as 1135 times (38.4%). This block is estimated to have the potential for a tsunami to occur. Mitigation efforts to reduce the risk of earthquakes are by implementing a resilient-elastic building system and the location of settlements from the coastline > 100 m with a topography of at least 25 meters

Abstract

This study aims to develop an E-Module to train high school students' reading literacy skills. The e-module was designed using Canva-assisted power point and saved in power point show. The power point show is then sent via WhatsApp for students to use. This research uses the development method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) according to. The implementation phase uses a pretest – posttest non-equivalent control group design to obtain information about the effect the developed E-Module. This research was conducted at a public high school in Cimahi City, West Java Province in February-March 2023. The sample for this study was taken by convenience sampling , namely 30 students from class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class and 30 students from class XI IPA 2 as the experimental class. control. The instruments and data collection techniques used in this study were the due diligence validation sheets, readability tests and reading literacy skills tests. The results showed that the feasibility test for the developed E-module showed very feasible criteria, the readability test showed a result of 80% with easy-to-understand criteria and the development of this E-module could increase reading literacy skills by 0.7 with high criteria on the indicator of finding information, 0.8 with high criteria on indicators of interpretation and integration and a score of 1 with high criteria on evaluating and reflecting indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence and effect’s magnitude of Problem Based Learning on the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at Jeruk Purut II Elementary School. The research method used is quantitative research with the type of Pre-Experimental Design and One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data collection technique uses a critical thinking ability test sheet consisting of 12 questions. Data analysis technique using paired sample t-test and ETA squared t test. The results of the pretest and posttest hypothesis testing showed a sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 which is less than 0.05 so that there is a significant effect of the Problem Based Learning model on critical thinking skills. Then, the eta squared calculation shows a value of 0.88 which is belong to very large category. The conclusion from the research results is that the Problem Based Learning model influences the critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students and with effect’s magnitude belong to very large category.

Abstract

Science learning should focus on cognitive processes that lead to the development of scientific processes, scientific products, and scientific attitudes. However, field facts show that students' science process skills are still low. One possible solution that can train and improve students’ science process skills is dialogic teaching facilitated by concept cartoon worksheets. This study aims to identify the implementation of dialogic teaching through concept cartoon worksheets to improve students' science process skills. This research method is quasi-experimental with 2 sample classes, namely the experimental class and the control class which were taken by purposive sampling. The research instrument is science process skills test, concept cartoon worksheets, learning implementation observation sheet, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis used independent t-test and n-gain. The results showed that students’ science process skills in control class and experimental class were significantly different. The n-gain test results also showed a higher increase in the experimental class than the control class with an average n-gain result of 0.65 (moderate) in the experimental class and 0,31 (moderate) in the control class. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of dialogic teaching through the concept cartoon student worksheet can improve students' science process skills.

Abstract

This study aims to feasibility of student worksheets with a STEM approach in earthquake disaster mitigation The STEM approach is an approach that combines four aspects of science, namely science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of four stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluations. The research phase is limited to the stage of development. The product developed is the Student Worksheet. The feasibility of the student worksheets developed was seen from the results of the validation. by three experts who calculated the validity and reliability of the student worksheets. The response questionnaire was distributed to 30 students of the Physics Departement in FKIP - University of Mataram. The results show that the validity of student worksheets was included in the very valid category and it was reliable criteria. The results of student responses showed a very good response (98.33%). Beside that the implementing of student worksheets to 30 students show good assessment (93.33%). Thus, it can be concluded that the student worksheets that have been developed with the STEM approach can improve the understanding students to the earthquake disaster mitigation
