Abstract

The utilization of medicinal plants has become one alternative for communities to treat illnesses. This is because the use of medicinal plants, besides being relatively affordable, also does not cause side effects compared to the use of modern medicine or chemical-based drugs. This study aims to develop a reference book of medicinal plants in Rote Tengah Sub-district, Rote Ndao District. The development model used in this research is the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The research results obtained from material expert testing showed a validity of 94.6%, design expert testing showed 95.5%, and media expert testing showed 100%. Overall, the percentage of assessments from all three experts indicates a value of 96.7% with a qualification of very valid (highly appropriate). This indicates a positive response to the developed medicinal plant reference book, which is deemed suitable for use as a learning resource. This is because the developed medicinal plant reference book has its own advantages, where the illustrations in the reference book are made with attractive designs, thus attracting students' attention and making it easier to understand

Abstract

This article is intended to explore and analyze some of the impacts of shifting cultivation to the forest environmental degradation in Routa today. This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative research approaches, especially with the rational equation methods where the results of statistical calculations are then culturally interpreted. The results of this study indicate that current shifting cultivation has contributed greatly to the increasing damage to the forest environment and decreased hydro-urologic functions of forests in Routa as well as other ecological functions, including conversion of primary and secondary forest land to shifting cultivation areas, restoration of areas ex-shifting cultivation that are ongoing slower than usual, increased surface water flow, increased erosion, and sedimentation, increased local air temperature and decreased humidity and the potential for large carbon losses.

Abstract

Every year, higher education institutions receive a KIP Tuition scholarship quota that has been determined by Ristek Dikti through LLDIKTI which is given during the new student admissions process. The process of determining recipients is carried out manually resulting in inaccurate scholarship recipients being selected and the selection results may not be the same based on those who participated in making the decision. This research is motivated by the need for an algorithm for determining prospective scholarship recipients that is appropriate and effective because the recipient selection process often takes a long time because many high school and equivalent students register so that they exceed the quota limit while the quota given is limited. This research aims to use a system for scholarship recipients and provide rules and knowledge, namely rough set Theory and adapted to the Rosetta application, using prospective student data during the selection process for new students who apply for the KIP Kuliah scholarship in the 2020/2021 academic year. The resulting decision is the KIP Opportunity which consists of 4 (four) attributes, including parents' income, housing status, dependents, and parental status. The results of this research using sample data from 12 people produced 6 (six) rules and knowledge of 26 rules. This research is very supportive in identifying the eligibility of KIP Kuliah recipients.

Abstract

Microplastic pollution accumulates in the marine environment, thus impacting the health of marine organisms. The purpose of this study was to analyze and identify the abundance and characteristics of microplastics in Horse-Eye Jack fish (Caranx latus) in coastal Bungus Bay, West Sumatra. Fish samples were taken at three different locations, namely, Sako beach, Caroline Beach, and the east side of Bungus Bay. The average abundance of microplastics in horse-eye Jack fish samples in digestive is 21.63 ± 3.99 particles/fish, and in respiration, 9.23 ± 1.92 particles/fish. The shape identified forms of microplastics are fibers, films, fragments, granules, and foam, and the dominant color of microplastics is red. The most common size of microplastics found was <0.5 mm. FT-IR spectroscopy analysis showed that the polymer types of microplastics found were PE, PVC, PET, and PS. Statistical tests showed differences between the abundance of microplastics in two pathways of microplastic uptake (digestive and respiration), and the sampling location P<0.05. The results showed that microplastics were found in all Horse-Eye Jackfish samples in Bungus Bay, West Sumatra. These findings highlight microplastics' harm to the marine ecosystem and the necessity of managing plastic waste if we hope to avoid future plastic pollution catastrophes

Abstract

This research aims to determine the correlation between elementary school level students' understanding of the concept of movement systems in humans and their habits in maintaining bone health. Because maintaining bone health is something that must be paid attention to, especially in children at their growing age. Habits of maintaining bone health must be supported by elementary school level students' knowledge regarding the process of growth and development in the human body. This research uses a correlation analysis method, with the Product Moment correlation technique. The number of samples used in this research was 35 class VI students from 5 elementary schools in Banda Aceh City. The instruments used are test questions related to the movement system material in the chapter on how our bodies move, and also a student response questionnaire regarding their daily habits in maintaining bone health. The research results can be concluded that the correlation obtained through the Product Moment correlation test can determine the relationship between the two variables at 0.64 with strong criteria. So there is a strong correlation between the first variable, namely the level of understanding of students' concepts regarding how the body moves and the second variable, namely their habits of maintaining healthy bones. The results of the correlation coefficient obtained show changes in students' habits as they understand the concepts they gain.
