Abstract

This study aims to examine asiatic acid from Barringtonia asiatica seed extract as an anti-cataract. The presence of asiatic acid in the extract was confirmed using LCMS. The study was conducted using the HKSA method and it is independent of the molecular docking method. Molecular modeling was carried out using the Avogadro program. Descriptors computation using NWChem (DFT method, 6-311G base set), Swiss ADME, Molinspiration, and ADMET. Molecular tethering and visualization using Autodock Tools 1.5.6. and Discovery Studio 2019 Client. The best compounds that fight against cataracts are 9- (methoxymethyl)-1,2,6a, 6b, 9,12a-hexamethyl-10,11-dioxo-1,2,3,4,4a,5,6,6a, 6b,7,8,8a, 9,10,11,12,12a, 12b,13,14b-icosahydropicene-4a carboxylic acid. The equation:Log P = 25.593 + (- 0.136) * PSA + (-1.694) * Surface area + (-0.015) * Volume + (1.368) * molar refraction + (0.129) * LUMO + (- 7.007) * HOMO + (- 0.117) ) * E DFT + (-0.037) * E Hydration + (- 0.262) * PolarizationThis molecule was confirmed to be anti-cataract based on the molecular docking against the 4JGF protein target which produced binding energy and inhibition constants of -8.78 and 0.3368 uM.

Abstract

The increase in fuel consumption of oil has an impact on the energy crisis. Biogasoline is one of the alternative energies that has the potential to solve the problem. The fact that biogasoline results are low is a challenge for further research. One of the methods used to produce biogasoline is the catalytic cracking method. Such methods generally use catalyst to help to speed up the reaction. HZSM-5 is one of the catalysts that has been widely used in various applications. In this review article will compare the value of % biogasoline between several types of crushed vegetable oils with hzsm-5 catalysts using catalytic cracking methods. Based on the results of the analysis it can be known that the method of catalytic cracking using the catalyst HZSM-5 produces a good % biogasoline value so the use of catalyst HZSM-5 is recommended in vegetable oil reactions. In addition, there are factors that affect the value of % biogasoline namely: rector type, operating temperature, reaction time, surface area and pore size catalyst HZSM-5 as well as vegetable oil type.

Abstract

Logam Zn (seng) merupakan salah satu logam berat berbahaya yang dapat mencemari lingkungan. Salah satunya pencemaran pada perairan, pencemaran ini disebabkan dari berbagai pembuangan limbah industri seperti tekstil, kayu, pelapis logam dan lain-lain. Ada berbagai cara yang dapat digunakan untuk menangani pencemaran lingkungan ini, seperti penggunaan karbon aktif, hidroksida pengandapan, selaput pemisahaan dan lain-lain, namun Teknik ini masih meninggalkan masalah seperti penanganan lumpur kimia yang dihasilkan dan biaya yang masih mahal. Adsorpsi dengan biomassa hadir sebagai alternatif karena biaya yang relatif rendah dan kemudahan dalam pengoperasiannya. Biomassa ini bisa didapatkan dari bebagai buah dengan menggunakan kulit buah, seperti kulit jeruk, kulit lengkeng, kakao dan durian. Kulit buah ini mengandung senyawa selulosa dan pektin yang dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan penyerap ion logam berat.

Abstract

Management of fish bones asa a source of calcium must be converted into a smaller form so that it is easily absorbed by the body into nanocalsium. In this case, fish bones are seen as giving a lot of advantages because fish are easier to get. The purpose of this study was to utilize catfish(Pangasius Sp) bones as the main ingredient for the manufacture of nanocalcium and extract fish bone lead using the Ultrasonic-Assisted Solvent Extraction method. This research method is characterization . of cat fish bone waste making nano particles using the Ultrasonic-Assisted solvent method, and characterized SEM-EDX. The result showed that the characteristic of catfish bone powder waste were 10,35 % water content, 44,29 % ash content, 1,849 fiber content, 11,47 % fat content, 0,27% protein content, and carbohydrates 33,62%, and SEM result for the morphological size 5.000x magnification, the particle diameter 3111,08 nm and EDX was 6 % purity of calcium (Ca).

Abstract

Steroids are a group of secondary metabolite which showed various biological activities. Meliaceae is a plant family used as a one of the source of steroid compounds. A. grandis is a member of the Meliaceae family in genus Aglaia which rarely explored. Previous studies have shown that A. grandis leaves contain triterpenoids, steroids, bisamide, and sesquiterpenoids. This study aims to obtain steroids from the bark of A. grandis. The structure of the isolated compound was determined using the NMR 1D and 2 D spectroscopic. Based on the extensive analysis, isolated compound identified as a stigmastant type steroid, stigmast-5-en-3β-ol-7-one.

Abstract

Corn cobs are agricultural waste that is very widely available and has the potential to be developed as corn flour. This modified corn flour from corn cobs waste can be an alternative to flour in several flour-based processed products. The use of corn cobs, which so far has less economic value, is to conduct research to determine the quality content of corn flour and corn cobs, so it is necessary to characterize the quality of corn, especially microbial contamination based on the SNI standards that have been set.Methods: water content using gravimetric method, ash content using gravimetric method, microbial contamination test using ALT method of 25-250 colonies / gram counted and analysis of mold and E. coli bacteria. The results showed that the ash content was 0.0433%, 13.57% moisture content, 11.91% protein content, ALT 1.8 x 106, mold analysis of 4.3 x 102 cology / gram and analysis of E. coli bacteria amounting to 7.1 APM / g and B. subtilis amouting <1,0 x 102coloni/g.  So it can be concluded that corn cobs waste can be used as corn flour because it has fulfilled the SNI

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with the fourth largest natural wealth in the world. The magnitude of the natural potential provides a great opportunity for scientists to develop it as a useful product for society. One of the medicinal plants that can be used is lime (C. aurantifolia). The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibition of lime peel extract (Citrus aurantifolia) against Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli and mold bacteria using the coloni counter method. This research includes the extraction process of the maceration method then the extract obtained is tested for bacterial analysis using a colony counter. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that lime peel extract (C. aurantifolia) has the ability to inhibit the growth of B. cereus and E.coli bacteria, respectively 0 APM/g and <3.0 APM/g. This is because there are bioactive compounds such as -pinene and D-limonene in lime peel extract (C. aurantifolia).

Abstract

Estrogen-α (ER-α) is a major target in cancer therapy. Targeting the ER-α target protein is known to slow the proliferation of breast cancer cells. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction of the complex compound Zn(II)Prolinedithiocarbamate against the Estrogen-α Receptor. The Zn(II)Prolinedithiocarbamate complex was predicted canonical SMILE by Cheminfo online application (O=C(O)C1CCCN1C2S[Zn]S2) and modeled with online corina to obtain a three-dimensional structure. The structure of the complex compound Zn(II)Prolinedithiocarbamate interacted with Estrogen receptor alpha protein to test its potential anticancer activity. Molecular docking results show the interaction of the Zn(II)Prolinedithiocarbamate complex with the Estrogen- receptor on the amino acid residues ARG394, LEU387, GLU353, LEU346, LEU349, and PHE404. The Zn(II)Prolinedithiocarbamate complex interacts directly with ER-α in the estrogen region which causes the failure of the interaction between estrogen and the estrogen receptor, so it can be predicted that the Zn complex has activity as an ER-α inhibitor and has the potential to be developed in the treatment of breast cancer.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the extract of red trunk binahong seed as a dye in Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC). (Anredera cordifolia) characterization was carried out by UV-Visible spectrophotometry and resulted in absorption at a wavelength of 537 nm, purification the extract of red trunk binahong seed was carried out by column chromatography using methanol: ethyl acetate as  solvent with ratio of 3: 2 and 10 fractions color were produced. The identification of compounds and functional groups were analyzed by FTIR which showed the presence of betalain derivatives, namely betanidine, betanine, and neobetanin. Molecular weight analysis was carried out by LC-MS and the molecular weight of betanidine was 386.3171. The voltage and current from the DSSC results were measured using  multimeter, the efficiency of the extract of red trunk binahong seed was 0.64% and the one that experienced a change in color to orange was 0.55%.Keywords:, betalain, betanidine, betanine, DSSC, red trunk binahong

Abstract

The development of spectrophotometry method based on Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) to determine Zr(IV) in tin ore accompanying mineral has been done using xylenol orange as complexing agent. The complex between Zr(IV) and xylenol orange 0,05% was formed at pH 2 (1:1). The complex formed having maximum absorbance at wavelength 554 nm. The mineral decomposition has been done by fusion method using Na2CO3 and Na2O2 as fluxs for open system and the close system decomposition using HNO3, HClO4 and HF as solvents. FIA-spectrophotometry that has been developed was able to show good analytical performance, with precision of %KV not more than 5% at concentration level mg/L, was 3,98%, with sensitivity was 2,79 ppm and the detection limits of calculated (S/N = 3) was 0,21 ppm. This method has been aplicated for analyzing Zr(IV) in zircon mineral sample with analysis result 20,26% of ZrO2 and recovery percentage was 100,7%.
