Abstract

Road infrastructure development has increased in the last three years. Like the construction of other infrastructure projects, the implementation of this road project also carries a high risk of work accidents. Therefore, knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) is needed to minimize the potential risk of work accidents. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) in national road projects in East Java and review what can be done so that the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) in national road projects in East Java can run better. This research began with data collection through the questionnaire method, distributed to the national road project head office in East Java, with the respondents being project managers or project leaders. Furthermore, the collected questionnaire data were analyzed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The results of the partial least squares analysis show that the factor that most influences the application of OHS is the Management Role Factor (X2) which ranks first, with the Management Role variable having an effect of 25.07%.

Abstract

This research contributes to (1) developing a learning video of Plumbing and Sanitation Practice Practice, (2) knowing the feasibility of the Plumbing and Sanitation Practice Practice video learning media, (3) knowing user perceptions regarding the Plumbing and Sanitation Practice Practice learning video applied to the Department of Education UNY Civil Engineering and Planning. This research is an R&D research with a 4D model approach (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). Data collection techniques are based on research subjects in making video products for Plumbing practice learning videos, namely experts related to plumbing materials, media experts. The instrument used uses a Likert scale to measure the feasibility level of the product being developed. The results obtained are (1) the define stage, namely analyzing the initial conditions, analyzing the character of students, analyzing concepts and learning objectives, the design stage, namely designing a script for the delivery of information consisting of opening, content, closing, the development stage, namely the process of recording making a video learning until the completion of editing the resulting video and then testing the eligibility validation of the product by experts, the disseminate stage, namely the limited dissemination of the product produced in this case the learning video of plumbing work practices to samples to assess and find out the level of feasibility and usefulness of the product; (2) the level of product feasibility based on the material content made is worth 4.58 belonging to the "very feasible" category, while the assessment based on the media made is worth 4.91 belonging to the "very feasible" category; (3) The results of the disseminate that has been carried out obtain the value of the user's perception of the product which is included in the very high category, the percentage of product feasibility is 91.52% which is included in the "Very Eligible" category.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract When building roads and paved surfaces, a strong foundation is always essential. A durable material that can withstand years of traffic while staying trustworthy must be used to build the foundation. A frequent problem in the construction of roads and pavements is the lack of high-quality, long-lasting materials for the pavement structure (base, subbase, and subgrade). Hence, this study examined stabilization of lateritic soil sample from Ijoko with cement kiln dust and lime.  The study adopted the experimental design. Laboratory test were conducted on classification, swelling potential, compaction, California bearing ratio (CBR), unconfined compressive tests, among others were conducted on the laterite sample treated with cement kiln dust (CKD) and lime in incremental order of 2% up to 10% of dry weight soft soil sample. The results of the test showed that the studied soil can be classified as an A-7-6 and CL soil using American Association of State Highway and transport officials (AASHTO) and unified soil classification system (USCS) respectively. The plasticity (PI) of the studied soil reduced from 30.5% to 29.9% at the application of CKD. The maximum dry density on the application of CKD reduced from 1.9.7 mg/m3 to 1.86mg/m3 and lime application yielded a reduction from 1.97mg/m3 to 1.88.mg/m3. The swell potential on CKD application was reduced from 0.05 to 0.039%. The study concluded that soil stabilizations are effective and economic way of improving road pavement for engineering benefit. The degree of effectiveness of stabilization in pavement construction was found to depend on the type of soil to be stabilized. The study therefore recommended that stabilized soil mixtures should be used to subbase material for flexible pavement since is a suitable. Key words : Lateritic Soils, Sand,  Cement, Stabilization, Road Pavement  .
