Abstract

The research was to know the influence of the supplementation lemuru fish oil and L-carnitine on the local male ducks’ performance. The cattle used were 96 local male ducks aged 10 days. Research materials were corn, bran, concentrate 144, lemuru fish oil, and L-carnitine. The research design used was Complete Random Design with 3 treatments and 8 repetitions; each repetition contained 4 local male ducks. The treatment consisted of ration control P0 = corn, barn, concentrate and mineral; P1 = corn, barn, mineral and 4% lemuru fish oil; P2 = corn, barn, concentrate, mineral, 4% lemuru fish oil and 30 ppm L-carnitine. The investigated modifiers were feed consumption, feed conversion, daily weight increase and Income Over Feed Cost value. Data feed consumption, daily weight increase, feed conversion was analyzed using variance analysis. If there were a concrete influence, further analysis should be conducted using orthogonal contrast. Results showed that the supplementation of lemuru fish oil and L-carnitine had a very significant influence (P<0.01) on feed consumption, daily weight increase and feed conversion. Further test results orthogonal contrast showed that the supplementation of lemuru fish oil and L-carnitine could decrease feed consumption, feed conversion and increase daily weight rate (P<0.01) if compared control. Result Income Over Feed Cost showed that treatment with add lemuru fish oil and L-carnitine produced Income Over Feed Cost value higher if compared control. Based on the results of the research, it could be concluded that the supplementation of 4% lemuru fish oil and 30 ppm L-carnitine in ration could decrease feed consumption and feed conversion, increase daily weight rate, and the IOFC of local male ducks.

Abstract

Rice is a staple food for society.Rice consumption in Indonesia is relatively high compared to ASEAN countries, which is 114 kg/year. The importance of rice for the society leads the government to provide rice in order to avoid food insecurity due to lack of food supply. To anticipate the increasing needs of food, the projection of rice consumption demand in the future is required. This research was a descriptive research using quantitative approach. The aim of this research was to obtain the prediction or projection of rice consumption demand in Yogyakarta Special Region. Data of rice consumption demand were collected from Department of Food Security and Counseling Agency of Yogyakarta. Data were analyzed using trend analysis by projecting past trends using regression analysis model. The trend analysis shows that rice consumption demand in Yogyakarta is increasing, therefore the strategy is required to fulfill rice supply in the future by prioritizing the production in food production centers.

Abstract

Kulon Progo Regency is one producer of soybeans in D.I. Yogyakarta. The research aims to find out the result of soybean and farmers perception on soybean production technologies with an approach of integrated crop management (ICM) in Kulon Progo. The research was conducted in April-November 2013. 10 soybean varieties were planted to determine the level of productivity. Pattern and timing of planting explored through interviews with farmers and field inspections. Interviews were conducted with farmers to determine the perceptions of soybean production technology with the approach of integrated crop management (ICM) and in particular soybean varieties. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed in Kulon Progo Regency soybeans planted in irrigated land, rainfed lowland and upland, adjust the availability of water. The results showed in Kulon Progo Regency soybeans planted in irrigated land, rainfed lowland and upland, adjust the availability of water. Soybean production technology is not implemented by farmers as a whole, depends on the conditions of agro-ecosystems and agricultural inputs. In general, farmers agree with soybean production technology components with the approach of integrated crop management (ICM). Some farmers do not agree with the manufacture of drainage, mulching straw and harvest when 95% of the leaves have yellowed. Varieties Detam-2, Ijen and Tanggamus more adaptive and give higher yields. However, soybean farmers in Kulon Progo Regency prefer largely seeded soybean as Argomulyo and Burangrang. Gema varieties favored for short-lived.

Abstract

Fresh milk is highly nutritious food because its contain substances that complete food. The high nutritional value of milk causes a media which is preferred by the microorganisms to grow and develop in a very short time become unfit milk consumed when handled incorrectly. Safety milk from contamination during the distribution process becomes very important because of a race against time. Considering the conditions on the farm people milk distribution process normally without treatment (cooling), so that the required distribution by the shortest route, the fastest time and low cost. This study aims to minimize lines and distribution costs of fresh milk as marketing efficiency efforts. The research location is taken purposively based on the consideration that the District Mojosongo has the second largest population of dairy cows in Boyolali. The analytical method used is the analysis of marketing costs, margins and profit marketing, marketing efficiency and Traveling Salesman Problem analysis to determine the shortest distance, fastest time and lowest cost. Fresh milk marketing channels used dairy producers in the district Mojosongo there are three channels following the channel I: Farmer to Consumer, Channel II: Farmers to Traders collector to Consumer and Channels III: Farmers to Traders collector to wholesaler to the milk processing industry. Channel I is the most efficient marketing channel because this channel sells directly from farmers to consumers. The most effective marketing channels using the Travelling Salesman Problem is the distribution channels II because this path has the shortest distance, fastest time to maintain the quality of fresh milk and cost efficiency.

Abstract

Subdistrict Kebakkaramat was the region with the second largest number after sub-district industrial Jaten. Kebakkramat industry in the district is dominated by the textile industry wastewater produced allegedly pollute streams and rivers used by farmers as irrigation water. Waste that pollutes streams and rivers is thought to contain Cr. The use of irrigation water suspected to contain Cr feared to be absorbed by plants and then accumulates in the grain. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the content of Cr in the irrigation water, soil, and paddy rice fields. This research uses descriptive exploratory methods implemented through field surveys and followed by laboratory analysis. Variable observations from this study include Cr. Cr at all observation points, except the control, does not correspond to the irrigation water quality standard, that exceeds a predetermined limit is 0.01 ppm.

Abstract

This research was conducted to know the production efficiency of beef cattle in smallholder farmer in a dry farming area at dry season. Research has been started on June and finished on September (dry season) at smallholder farmer in the village Kemejing, Semin subdistrict, district Gunungkidul, DIY. The research materials are 28 heads of beef cattle from 17 farmers, which consist of 10 heads of PO breed, 10 heads of a Simpo breed, and 8 heads of Limpo breed with 292.25 kg of initial body weight. This research was using Participatory Rural Appraisal method which is a collecting data process that an active teamwork between data collector and farmer. Collected parameter are feed intake, average daily gain (ADG), feed efficiency, feed cost per gain (FC/G), and income over feed cost (IOFC). Data resulting from this research are 8.42 kg/head/day of feed intake, 0.19 kg/head/day of ADG, 0.021 of feed efficiency, Rp 46.166,62 of feed cost per gain, and Rp 3.985,55 of income over feed cost. It can be concluded that the efficient production of beef cattle in smallholder farmer at the dry area is low because average daily gain, feed cost per gain and income over feed cost produced are extremely small so if the calculated economic result is less favorable.
