Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to describe the thinking process in proof problem solving using direct, contraposition, and contradiction methods in 2nd semester mathematic education students of Nusantara PGRI University of Kediri with (1) high, (2) moderate, and (3) low learning achievements. The research method employed was qualitative approach. Subject of research was selected using purposive sampling technique, consisting of 6 2nd-semester mathematic education students: 2 students with high, 2 with moderate, and 2 with low learning achievements. Data collection was carried out using interview based on proof problem solving assignment. Data validation was carried out using time triangulation, and the valid data was analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.  The result of research showed that: (1) The thinking process of students with high learning achievement. The proof problem solving in direct contraposition, and contradiction ways. In entry phase, the subjects understood the problem by writing antecedent as they know and consequence to be proved. In finishing phase, the subjects explained antecedent into premise correctly and completely, did algebraic operation to connect consequence to premise, in order to prove the consequence. In review phase, the subjects check their answer and were sure with their answer after seeing the process and proof result. (2) The thinking process of students with moderate learning achievement. The proof problem solving in direct, contraposition, and contradiction ways. In entry phase, the subjects understood the problem by writing antecedent as they know and consequence to be proved. In finishing phase, the subjects explained antecedent into premise correctly, did algebraic operation with summing procedure and distributive property to connect consequence to premise in order to prove the consequence. In review phase, the subjects did not check their answer and were sure with their answer when their  proved. (3) The thinking process of students with low learning achievement. The proof problem solving in direct, contraposition, and contradiction ways. In entry phase is the same, the subjects understood the problem by writing antecedent as they know and consequence to be proved. In finishing phase, the subjects explained antecedent into premise difficultly, did algebraic operation with summing procedure and distributive property to connect consequence to premise using number example, thereby could not prove the consequence. Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of learning models on the learning achievement in Mathematics viewed from creativity of the student. The learning models compared were Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) The Modified By Assessment For Learning (AfL), Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) an direct model. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a 3x3 factorial design. The population of this research is all class 11th student of Vocational High School in Madiun. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random sampling of the sample totaled 266 students, with details of 87 students in the experimental class of 90 students in two experimental classes and 89 students in the control class. The instruments used to collect data were mathematics achievement test and test creativity in learning. The technique of analyzing the data was two-ways ANOVA with unequal cells. The results of research showed that: (1) The model of cooperative learning TGT modified AfL provides mathematics learning achievement better than cooperative learning model TGT and direct learning. TGT cooperative learning model provides mathematics learning achievement as well as direct learning model; (2) Students who have a high learning creativity gives better mathematics learning achievement than students who have studied creativity medium and low. Students who have studied creativity is giving mathematics learning achievement as well as students with low learning creativity; (3) For each learning model show that, the prestige mathematics students with high creativity learning are better than the student who have medium or low, and students who have the creativity learning is giving better mathematics learning achievement than students with low learning creativity. (4) For each students' level of creativity show that, cooperative learning model TGT modified AfL provides mathematics learning achievement better than cooperative learning model TGT and direct learning. TGT cooperative learning model provides better mathematics learning achievement than direct learning model.Keywords: cooperative learning, TGT modified AfL, TGT, creativity in learning, academic achievement.

Abstract

 Abstract: Mathematical reasoning ability is needed by students both in the process of understanding mathematics and in everyday life context. In fact, Indonesian students’ ability in the field of mathematics is still very low. Referring to the fact, this study is attempted to determine students' mathematical reasoning in solving real analysis problems based on their ability to think intuitively. This study is a qualitative descriptive research. The data sources in this study are college students. Data are collected through written tests and interview. Data analysis in this study is carried out by stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that (1) Students with high intuitive thinking skills in real analysis problem solving have a tendency to implement mathematical reasoning perfectly. They are able to carry out mathematical reasoning at each stage of solving real analysis problems. (2) Students with medium intuitive thinking ability in solving real analysis problem have a tendency to implement mathematical reasoning less perfectly. They are not able to carry out mathematical reasoning at the stage of solving problems according to plan and re-checking it again. (3) Students with low intuitive thinking skill in solving real analysis problem have a tendency to implement mathematical reasoning imperfectly. They are unable to carry out mathematical reasoning at the stage of planning solution and solving problem.Keywords:mathematical reasoning, solving problem, intuitive.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the errors made by students in solving of maximum and minimum derivative values problem-solving test. The research method used is the descriptive qualitative method. The subjects consisted of five twelfth grade students of senior high school in Puding Besar who were selected by purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study are derivative problem-solving test and interviews. The results of student answers were analyzed using the Newman’s error analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, the most common error made by students were errors in the comprehension errors. The most students do not understand the concept of solving the problems of maximum and minimum derivative values. Students only work on algebraic questions without using concepts of maximum and minimum derivative values

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models scientific MMP, scientific TPS, scientific classical on  mathematics achievement  viewed from student Emotional Quotient (EQ). The objectives of research were to find out: 1) which one providing better learning achievement, scientific MMP, scientific TPS, or scientific classical. 2) which one having better learning achievement, students with high, medium, or low EQ. 3) in each learning models, which one having better learning achievement, students with high, medium, or low EQ. 4) in each EQ level, which one providing better learning achievement, scientific MMP, scientific TPS, or scientific classical. The type of the research was quasi experimental research using design factorial 3x3. The population was the students in grade VIII junior high school in a city of Pemalang. The size of the sample was 309 students. The hypothesis test used unbalance two ways analysis of variance. The conclusions of the research were as follows. 1) Scientific MMP provided better learning achievement than scientific TPS and scientific classical, while scientific TPS provided better learning achievement than scientific classical.  2)  The students with high EQ had better learning achievement than medium and low EQ, while the students with medium EQ had better learning achievement than low EQ. 3)  In scientific MMP, scientific TPS, scientific classical, the students with high EQ had better learning achievement than medium and low EQ, while the students with medium EQ had better learning achievement than low EQ. 4) At the students with high, medium, and low EQ, Scientific MMP provided better learning achievement than scientific TPS and scientific classical, while scientific TPS provided better learning achievement than scientific classical.Keywords: scientific MMP, scientific TPS, scientific Classical, Emotional Quotient,n Achievement

Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed to describe the skills in geometry of visually impaired inclusion students on rectangular learning. This research was qualitative research. The research subjects were grade IX student of SMP MIS Surakarta. There were 3 students consisting of 1 low vision student, 1 totally blind when he was 15 years old, and 1 totally blind since she was born. The procedure of selecting the subject used in this research was purposive sampling technique. The data of research was collected through interviews based on rectangular task. The data was analyzed based the theory skill in Geometry’s of Hoffer. The steps are : analyze all data are available from several sources, perform data reduction, compiling data in units, categorization the obtained data unit which shows each information on skill in Geometry of blind students in SMP MIS Surakarta as well as implementation of inclusion programs at SMP MIS Surakarta’s data. Skill in Geometry’s data was validated using time triangulation and  implementation of inclusion programs at SMP MIS Surakarta’s data was validated using sources triangulation. The result of this research show that: 1) skills in geometry of low vision student cannot reach level 2 at all; 2) skills in geometry of student with totally blind when he was 15 year old can reach level 2 just on drawings skill. However, he cannot mastering level 0 on drawings skill well; 3) skills in geometry of student with totally blind since she was born cannot reach level 2 at all; 4) factors that affect skills in geometry of the students are availability of textbooks for students with visual impairment, the role of special guidances teachers, availability and uses of learning medium, teacher who has skills to handle student with visual impairment.Keywords: Geometry, Skills in Geometry, Visually impaired Student, Inclusions Student, Rectangular

Abstract

Abstract:Currently, hijab is very interesting thing in the community. Seeing from the many uses of hijab by Muslim women, the production of hijab is adjusted to those needs. The problem faced by hijab producers is how much hijab will be made with all constraints and limitations. One method that can be used for optimization of production planning is Fuzzy Linear Program and LINDO Program. Fuzzy Linear Program is a linear program method that is applied in a fuzzy environment, while the LINDO program is a program designed to solve linear cases of programming which use certain formats to be processed by LINDO program. From the above problems, the authors solve this hijab production problem using Fuzzy Linear Programming to determine the right number for each model with maximum profit.Keywords:Hijab, Fuzzy Linear Programming, Simplex Method, LINDO.

Abstract

In the teaching and learning process, teacher is not only required to have knowledge to be given to his students. But teachers are required to have the ability to manage the class well. This research aimed to explain students’ activity and the class management to overcome students’ learning difficulty on Mathematics learning. This research used qualitative approach. The subject of research was the mathematic teachers and grade 8 students at SMP PAB 2 Helvetia. The data was collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The research result showed that mostly teachers managed the class well, physically and non-physically. It was seen by the following percentage: (1) physic management for 50% and  non-physic management for 52.94% (Teacher of G-1), (2) physic management for 33.33% and non-physic management for 35.30% (Teacher of G-2).As for students’ activity at grade 8-1by the following percentage: (1) Visual activities 66.22%; (2) Oral activities 52.70%; (3) Listening activities 73.65%; (4) Writing activities 73.65%; (5) Drawing activities 0%; (6) Motor activities 0%; (7) Mental activities 52.70%; (8) Emotional activities 54.05%. Students’ activity at grade 8-5 by the following percentage: (1) Visual activities 42.50%; (2) Oral activities 30.63%; (3) Listening activities 41.25%; (4) Writing activities 46.88%; (5) Drawing activities 0%; (6) Motor activities 0%; (7) Mental activities 33.75%; (8) Emotional activities 28.75%.

Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of the research were to describe (1) Thinking process of climber students grade VII SMPN 2 Semen in problem solving of mathematics. (2) Thinking process of camper students grade VII SMPN 2 Semen in problem solving of mathematics (3) Thinking process of quitter students grade VII SMPN 2 Semen in problem solving of mathematics. The thinking process in this research uses steps of Solso thinking, forming concept, logically, and taking decision. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subjects in this research are taken by purposive sampling. The subjects of this research are 3 students from grade VII SMPN 2 Semen, they are 1 student of climber type, 1 student of campers type, and 1 student of quitters type. The data collection of this research uses polling and questionaire technic based on duties that is done for comparison material. The legality of data used in this research is triangulation time and using reference sufficience. The technic of data analysis used is Miles and Huberman concept, these are data reduction, giving data and getting conclution. The results of this research show that (1) the thinking process of climber students, in problem solving of mathematics on steps: (a) understanding the problem that have done: (i) forming concept, (ii) thinking logically, (iii) taking decision; (b) arranging the plan for problem solving by: (i) forming concept, (ii) thinking logically, (iii) taking decision. (c) doing the plan of problem solving by: (i) forming concept, (ii) thinking logically, (iii) taking decision. (d) recheck the result by: (i) forming concept, (ii) thinking logically, (iii) taking decision; (2) The thinking process of camper students in problem solving of mathematics on steps: (a) understanding the problem by: (i) forming concept, (ii) thinking logically, (iii) taking decision. Abstract

Abstract:Poverty is a global and national issue that is the government's concern. Poverty alleviation is one of the national priorities in the RKP (Government Work Plan) 2018. The objective of this study is to observe the structure of poverty in Jawa Tengah Province on 2017. In the second semester of 2017, the percentage of poor people in Jawa Tengah Province is 12.23 % which is the second largest percentage on Java Island. The causes of poverty are complex and cannot be measured directly because they contain latent variables. One of the methods of analysis can used for the latent variable is Structural Equation Modeling- Partial Least Square. This method can estimate the relationship between variables that are multiple-relationship and describe the relationship pattern between latent variables and indicator variables with more flexible assumption. The structure of poverty in this study was approached with economic dimension, human resource dimension, and health dimension. The result of this research is obtained 10 valid and reliable indicators from 11 indicators which studied. The result of estimation with bootsrap showed that the dimension of human resources has a significant effect on the economic dimension, the health dimension has a significant effect on human resource dimension, and then the dimension of human resources has significant effect to the economic dimension. In addition, it can be concluded that the economic and health dimensions have a significant effect on the dimension of poverty.Keywords: Poverty, PLS, SEM.
