Abstract

P3TIP is a Farmers Empowerment Program Through Technology and Information. This program is funded by the World Bank and other volunteers in order to improve the quality of agricultural human resources in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the effect of P3TIP implementation on farmers behavior including changes in knowledge, attitude and skills of farmers in breeding of rice seed. This research is conducted in Panosogan Village and Sukaratu Village, Cikeusal District, Serang Regency, Banten. Data analysed by tabulation and wilcoxon. The respondents of this research is 35 respondent. The result of this research showed that P3TIP (Padra Seed Farming) Activity has been able to empower farmers in Cikeusal Sub-district represented by Panosogan Village and Sukaratu Village, Serang Regency optimally, because there are some changes, the changes are knowledge, skill and attitude. The value is about 1,96 / - 1.96 and Knowledge -5.093 / 5,093, Skills -5,170 / 5,170 and attitude -5,177.

Abstract

The Sahabat coffee processing business that process coffee beans into ground coffee and durian coffee. The Sahabat coffee processing business has a promising business opportunities in an effort to increase value added and profits. This study aims to analyze the added value and Cost Volume Profit including Net Income, Break Even Point, Profitability and Degree of Operating Laverage in Sahabat coffee processing business. The method of analysis used is the value added analysis of Hayami method and Cost Volume Profit method. The results showed that the valueadded obtained from the processing of coffee beans to ground coffee 250gr and 1 kgis 9,83% and 12,46%, while durian coffee 200 gr and 30 gr is64,99% and 35,57%.The result of analysis cost profit volume shows that net income obtained by coffee processing business from ground coffee 250 gr and 1 kg is Rp.3.259.902/month and Rp.4.732.781/month, while durian coffee 200 gr and 30 gr is Rp.4.853.798/month and Rp.1.722.111/month. The break even point of ground coffee 250 gr and 1 kg is 3.309 sashet/month and 697sashet/month, while break even point of durian coffee 200 gr and 30 gr is39 sashet/month and 770sashet/month. Profitability of ground coffee 250 gr and 1 kg is 4,35% and 6,01%, while durian coffee is 42,69% and 20,15% and Degre of Operating Laverage ground coffee 250 gr and 1 kg is 1,77and 1,59, while durian coffee 200 gr and 30 gr is 1.15 and 1,69.

Abstract

Taro is a distinctive commodity from Bogor which can be processed into a food product that is lapis talas. Producers who sell the product is Rumah Talas. The more producers who sell this product makes Rumah Talas has several competitors in marketing their products. This is a matter for consumers to choose which products to buy. This study aims to determine the consumers’ characteristics of Rumah Talas and to know the consumers preferences of Rumah Talas product and which attributes that become the consumer preferences. This research used survey method and analyzed quantitatively. Data analysis techniques used chi-square analysis and based on rank orders method. The results showed that the consumer characteristics of Rumah Talas were male, with married status, aged 46 - 60, undergraduate S1, with employment status of civil servants / military, and monthly income of Rp. 5.000.000 - Rp. 10.000.000. Products favored by consumers are products with moderate prices, good taste, products with purple, soft texture, attractive packaging, and likes products that have famous brand. Based on the rank or order of interest attributes of Rumah Talas product, the order of interest from the first to the last is price, taste, texture, packaging, brand, and color.

Abstract

Increased demand for organic vegetables in Indonesia proves that business opportunities of organic vegetables are still wide. However, the number of farmers who cultivate organic vegetables is very limited. This is the basis of thinking about the sustainability of organic vegetable farming practices in Cisarua Subdistrict of West Bandung Regency. This research aimed to analyze the sustainability of organic vegetable farming in Cisarua Subdistrict, in terms of ecological, economic, social, technology and infrastructure, and institutional dimensions. This research was a qualitative research. Respondents in this study were all organic vegetable farmers in Cisarua Subdistrict that required 8 people. The data were analyzed to measure the sustainability status by using multidimensional scaling (MDS) analysis. The results showed that the ecological, economic, technology and infrastructure, and institutional dimensions had sustainable status, while that of the social dimension less sustainable. These results indicate that in the development of organic vegetable farming, farmers need support from agricultural extension institution association, and marketing of agricultural products.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic structure based on the Shift-share approach in developing agro-tourism in Cirebon Regency with 4 components namely National Growth, Industrial Mix or Proportional Growth, Competitive Advantage / Regional Growth (PPW), Total Growth based on PDRB Year 2011 - Year 2014. The research method using quantitative descriptive analysis, Shift Share Analysis is used to determine the process of economic growth of a region. The results showed that the development of agro-tourism through basic commodities in Cirebon Regency is very useful. Growth The area of each sector is 0.19, the agricultural sector including the sector with the second highest growth value after the manufacturing sector. The proportional growth of the agricultural sector falls into 5 sectors that have slow growth rates. So through the development of agro-tourism is expected to increase the growth of the agricultural sector, and the agricultural sector in Cirebon Regency increasingly lost competitiveness. The resulting product is difficult to compete with the diverse products in the market. The sector with the highest increase of competitiveness is the service sector of the company while the losing sector of competitiveness is the manufacturing sector. Thus, government support through policies, taxes, subsidies, institutions and market access can increase economic growth in Cirebon Regency.

Abstract

This research is to describe the marketing mapping abon of tuna fish by using quantitative mapping, market mapping, price mapping, and traffic mapping. This study used survey method to determine the location of the intentionally (purposive) that is in Business Karya Mandiri "Bu Bedah" Muara Village. Population in this study is the production abon of tuna fish Business of Karya Mandiri "Bu Bedah" Muara Village Wanasalam Lebak Banten. Research use descriptive analysis method where data analyzed by describing collected data. Respondent method taking by snowball sampling. Result of the research 1) The quantitative mapping that total production abon of tuna fish in Business Karya Mandiri "Bu Bedah" is 300 kg / month. 2) Market mapping abon of tuna fish conducted in the market area and outside area. 3) Price mapping abon of tuna fish in Business Karya Mandiri "Bu Bedah". For the price abon of tuna fish to a wholesaler at the price of Rp.140.000 / kg, the price abon of tuna fish to retailers according of the size, the size of 90 grams with the price of Rp. 12.000 and size 140 gram with price Rp. 22,000. The price abon of tuna fish to the consumers the varied in according with the size, the size of 90 grams with the price of Rp. 15.000 and size 140 gram with price Rp. 25.000. With the brand "Bu Bedah". Large traders sell with retailers price Rp. 35,000 with the brand "Sarinah". While retailers (giant, carefour, and hypermart) sell abon to consumers price Rp. 48.900. 4)  Traffic mapping used in the delivery of product abon of tuna fish using four-wheeled vehicles and motorcycles. Delivery time in the morning and evening.

Abstract

Agriculture sector hold important role in economy development as one of agrarian country. One of industry which role in increasing agrculture development is fertilizer industry. This research purpose is to analyze marketing channel patter which happen in PT. Kujang Cikampek fertilizer (A case in Lini III  warehouse Serang City) and analyze channel pattern which the most efficient in marketing at area Lini III warehouse Serang City. This research method is descriptive. Location research determined by purposive is in Lini III warehouse Serang City with consider that in Banten is one of absorbtion area of the biggest product in PT. Kujang fertilizer. Technique take of sample use snowball sampling method. Data analyze method use in this research is marketing channel analyzing, marketing function analyze, structure analyze, marketing channel pattern, and marketing habit also marketing margin analyze. The result of this research shows that there are 2 marketing channel patterns happened in fertilizer selling non-subsidy Urea fertilizer (Nitrea) Banten province area. First channel pattern via Lini III warehouse Serang City – distributor – end consumer. While for marketing channel pattern via Lini III warehouse Serang City – distributor – retailer or stall – end counsumer. The most efficient marketing channel pattern is first because has the shortest marketing chain and the smallest marketing margin.

Abstract

This research aimed at measuring the level of competitive and comparatives advantages of small palm sugar industries in Purbosari village Seluma Regency. This research used secondary and primary data. Respondents in this research censused from 80 palm sugar producers. The data collected from respondents is data weekly traced five successive weeks. Analysis method used cost unit approach to measure advantages level as proposed by Coocburn and Siggel (1998). The research showed that the average of unit cost ratio competitive and comparative advantage small palm sugar industries in the purbosari village is less than 1, that is, 0.65 and 0.42. This indicates that palm sugar in purbosari village has high competitiveness degree. Meanwhile. its NPCO value 0.64 indicating there is no government protection on palm sugar output.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship becomes an important thing for the development. Developed countries have a large number of entrepreneurs that can become the pillar in the development. Entrepreneurial culture certainly gives influence to the success of a businessman. This study aimed to analyze entrepreneurial behavior of young farmers who are considered successful. This sudy showed that young farmers who graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture consider that successful farmers were farmers who are able to apply their knowledge and experience in agriculture to the real world. Successful farmers were those who are constantly on the lookout for markets and always learning new things every day, they feel a loss if in one day they find nothing new to learn. Successful farmers were those who have successful behaviors such as will to find a solution and work hard to get that, it is a strong capital for young farmers to survive and grow in their business. Success in agriculture should be obtained by working diligently (istiqomah), always understanding the needs and wants of the market, always strengthening the knowledge of business management, having a consistent entrepreneurial spirit, always keeping up with the information technology and being able to adapt to the dynamic environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of social capital in enhancing the capacity of rural women offenders “emping melinjo” home industry in the province of Banten. The research location is divided into three zones, Industry Zone, Agriculture and Tourism Zone, the respondents 453 people. The analysis used in this research is descriptive statistics, and one-way ANOVA. Results obtained by analysis; Social resources in the form of family relationship (kindship family), friendship (relationship conectivity) strengthen the level of confidence (trust), social networking (social networking) liabilities (obligations) and proactive (proactive actions) on social capital micro is a bridge (bonding) capable stir the creativity and ability of rural women. Patterns of cooperation that built in the home industry is a process of social change, such as changes in work patterns and the patterns of living, the goal is the increase in income and family welfare (income generating and family welfare). Micro social capital is still dominated by the behavior of rural women tends partlinear consequently closed, and results in weak level of confidence (distrust), this can be seen from the attitude of individuality is still high. At the meso level of social capital in the form of social networks and relationships.
