Abstract

Learning to read the Qur’an for santri (student of Islamic Boarding School) is an obligation. Even some Islamic Boarding School in Aceh (dayah) obliged their students to memorize it. However, based on some preliminary studies, it is found that some santri cannot read the Qur’an based on ‘ilm tajwīd . This research focused on students’ ability to read Qur’an based on Tajwīd at Dayah Jabal Nur, Bireun, Aceh, Indonesia. The results of the study show that the input process in Dayah Jabal Nur is based on class need analysis, administration, oral and written test of Qur’an. There are various methods used by teachers in teaching tajwīd at class 3 of Takhṣīṣ of Dayah Jabal Nur including lecturing method, question and answer method, demonstration method, training method, gabriel method, and memorization method. The lecturing method mostly used by teachers. The ability of teachers in the teaching of tajwīd learning at class 3 Takhṣīṣ of dayah Jabal Nur is generally classified as sufficient in the implementation of tajwīd learning. Although some of them are still employing the traditional teaching model, they are able to motivate students very well. Most of the students are also able to read the Qur'an according to tajwīd very well.

Abstract

Website-based management information system (SIM) is a data processing system in an organization which has functions to collect, process, store, and provide accurate data on time. An employee’s skill in using website-based SIM is necessary as a the key factor. The aim of this research is to know the ability of employees to use website-based SIM, 2) the implementation of website-based SIM, and 3) the the challenges in using website-based SIM. This research is using a descriptive method and qualitative approach. The data were gathered by using observation, interview, and document analysis. The subjects of the research are employee, headmaster, the chief of administration, teacher, and student. The result shows that 1) the employee are skillful in collecting, entrying, storing, processing, and providing data in the website and are able to finish their job effectively. 2) website-based SIM has a role in school development among others as it can collect, store, and provide infomation, analyze students’ prestige by using prestige standard calculation, simplifies the prospective students to know the information about the department that suit with their preferences and talent, also provides an up- to-date data for their alumni. 3) the difficulties faced by the employees in using website-based SIM are: some employees who are still incapable of operating computer and internet, small amount of bandwidth provided by JARDIKNAS, unstable electricity and website that often went down, and spyware and malware threats.

Abstract

The main problem faced by students in learning process is learning achievement. It is influenced by physiological, psychological, and environmental factor. Thus, educators play a major role in overcoming students’ learning problems through appropriate learning management. Learning is educator’s effort to teach students with a various learning strategies and sources, such as teachers, peers, environment, media, and others. Educators play an important role in facilitating the students to be actively learn to think, to speak, and to act in accordance with their teaching materials which being provided to achieve the expected competencies. The attendance of students in learning process is not only as passive participants in accepting the offered materials by the educators, but the student own broad freedom to develop their learning creativity to reach a maximum academic achievement in accordance with the capacity of each student’s competency.

Abstract

Language anxiety becomes an important area on language teaching and learning. It has been a common issue in the EFL context and had a profound consequence in language teaching. Furthermore, a feeling of anxiety has been experienced by a number of foreign language learners in their English language classroom. Therefore, the objective of this research was to investigate some factors influenced the students’ anxiety and also to find out kinds of anxiety experienced by them. The data were collected through FLCAS (Foreign language Classroom Anxiety Scale) from 30 English Department students of IAIN Lhokseumawe and 25 students of Al Muslim University and semi-structured interviews with 6 students as research’s participant. The data were analyzed descriptively to answer research questions. The findings indicated that students of IAIN Lhokseumawe had a higher level of anxiety compared with students of Al Muslim University. In addition, some factors causing students’ anxiety were lack of mental readiness, knowledge of vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and prior knowledge of the classroom activities, including the anxiety to take Anxiety Test.

Abstract

The aims of the research are to identify the process of using picture and singing method in teaching vocabulary; to identify students’ responses toward the use of picture and singing method in teaching vocabulary; and to identify the effectiveness of using picture and singing method in teaching vocabulary at SDIK Nurul Quran. The process of using picture and singing methods was achieved by providing several songs and displaying pictures related to the material to be learned and the teacher avoided to give translation in the students’ native language (Bahasa Indonesia). Finally, the test result showed that t-score t= 5.037 was higher than t- table t= 1.684 (0.05) = 99.9% (0.001) which indicated that using picture and singing methods for the first grade “Al-Falaq” students of SDIK Nurul Quran was effective Keywords: Singing Method; Picture; Vocabulary

Abstract

In qanun of education in Aceh, it is stated that the education in Aceh should be Islamic. We cannot deny that Aceh’s education is subordinate from national secular education. Therefore, it is assume that Aceh’s education totally followed the national policy with all of its philosophy, ideology, politics and other values brought along. Thus, how is the real project of Islamization of education in Aceh? This article is intended to explain the implementation of Islamic education in Aceh and also the values promoted through the islamization process and figure out the concistency of its implementation toward Islamic pedagogy. By using critical analysis, the writer found that the islamization project in Aceh’s education has been trapped in the mainstream of nationl education either from the aims or from the substances. Thus, the face of Islamic education in Aceh is just in the artificial aspect such as wearing Islamic uniform at school, adding Islamic subject and segregating of boys and girls in the classroom.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperative tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) berbantu media gambar pada materi penyajian data. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VB SDN 4 Teluk yang terdiri dari 35 siswa yang terdiri dari 18 siswa laki-laki dan 17 siswa perempuan. Alat pengumpulan data yaitu tes, lembar aktivitas guru, lembar aktivitas siswa, lembar observasi hasil belajar ranah afektif siswa serta lembar obervasi hasil belajar ranah psikomotor siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) berbantun media gambar dapat meningkatkan aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa, dan hasil belajar siswa dari ranah kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor pada materi penyajian data kelas V B SDN 4 Teluk, Kecamatan Purwokerto Selatan, Banyumas.

Abstract

Knowledge is one of the truth sources on humankind. It is believed that knowledge is a main factor that shapes human’s culture, history, and civilization. Knowledge construction is a compound that has particular differences. The mechanism of acquiring knowledge according to the philosophy of Islamic education consists of several types: first, mechanism of acquiring knowledge through experience; second, mechanism of acquiring knowledge through rationale and; third, mechanism of acquiring knowledge through revelation. These mechanisms create some important implications in Islamic education philosophy, particularly on learning theories.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the analysis of instrument validity assessment items. The formulation in this article is to explain the concept of validity, instruments, as well as a detailed discussion of the feasibility analysis of the valuation instruments. The notion of validity is a concept related to the extent to which the test has measured what must be measured. To analyze instruments to evaluate learning outcomes in the form of test items, it can be done in 2 ways, namely qualitative analysis of questions and quantitative analysis of questions. This instrument is a benchmark for student learning achievement. The assessment instruments used by educational institutions in the form of school exams or madrassas must meet the requirements of substance, construction, language, and have evidence of empirical validity. While the analysis of the validity of the quantitative test includes analysis of totality validity which includes content validity, construct validity, forecast validity, and comparison validity, and item validity analysis. Researchers used data analysis techniques using instrument analysis sheets, manual calculations, Microsoft Excel applications, and SPSS applications (Statistical Product and Service Solution). This article is presented systematically and is accompanied by supporting instructions and images so that readers can understand it more quickly and more easily.

Abstract

Curriculum applied at the Islamic university and the State Islamic University (UIN), especially the Faculty of Da'wa and Communication, seems have some weaknesses that need to be the primary concern of the policy makers. This weakness can be seen from the number of subjects with general learning aims so each teacher can interpret the intent of the curriculum in various ways.In addition, the required credits are quite overload, so the main professionsthat are expected to arise from the majors or courses are not concrete and focused.Based on the description above, this paper tries to study, describe, and analyze thephilosophical framework of curriculum in Faculty of Da'wa descriptively, and suggest the reorientation of curriculum as well as the the actualization reconstruction of the curriculum of the Faculty of Da'wa and Communicationwhich has future oriented.
