There are many factors that can influence students' vocabulary mastery in foreign language learning. This study aims to determine the relationship between logical thinking skills and students' mastery of German vocabulary. Research is an experimental study involving only the experimental class without the control class. Data collection techniques are done through writing test and logical thinking test in the form of Intelligent Structure Test (IST). The sample in this study were 21 high school students selected through random sampling techniques. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the ability to think logically with students' mastery of German vocabulary. Students who have good critical thinking skills, tend to more easily remember and understand new vocabulary in learning foreign languages.

The ability to translate is a language skill that have to be mastered. A foreign language learner must have the ability to translate both verbally and written. This study aims to describe the level of students’ error in translating text. The qualitative research approach is used to describe the level of students’ error in translating text. The technique of data collection is done in two ways, namely observation and written documents. Data processing includes the activities of identifying and categorizing data, exposuring and interpretating of problems and drawing conclusions. The stage of writing report includes writing report activities and presenting the results. The results show that students make errors in terms of vocabulary, use of prepositions, and incomplete sentences. Error analysis can also be implemented in teaching translation through five stages, namely test, correction, discussion, revision, and evaluation.

The purpose of this study was to know the effectiveness of Send A Problem type cooperative model in writing sentence german languange. This study used quasy-experiment approach. Data was collected using writing sentence skill test. Population of this study was students of XI IPA SMAN 14 Kabupaten Gowa which consisted of 5 classes which had 156 students. The sample in this study was chosen using purposive sampling method. Total sample is 62 students and all students are divided into 2 classes control class and experiment class. Data were analyzed using t-Test analysis. The result of data analysis shows that Send A Problem type cooperative learning model is effectively used in the skill of writing sentence of German.

The purpose of this research was to improve grammatical accuracy on writing descriptive text by using Teacher’s Written Corrective Feedback and to know their perceptions toward the application of the technique in teaching writing. This research design was a classroom action research that was conducted collaboratively with the English teacher. The result of the data analysis revealed that the application of Teacher’s Written Corrective Feedback could improve the tenth grade students’ grammatical accuracy. The improvement of students’ grammatical accuracy could be seen from the percentage of students who got score ≥ 71 increased from 72% in the first cycle to 78% in the second cycle. The students’ accuracy could be seen from the improvement of grammar accuracy in each grammatical aspect. The result showed that students’ grammar score highly improved in present tense and noun/pronoun aspects. Teacher’s Written Corrective Feedback and the procedure used such as additional explanation from teacher and revision process could help the students improve their grammatical accuracy in writing. Besides, students thought Teacher’s Written Corrective Feedback had favorable impact which it was beneficial and meaningful for them to overcome their difficulties in writing and to make them aware of their errors.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan penyusunan buku ajar tata bahasa Jerman berdasarkan respon mahasiswa. Data ini nantinya akan digunakan sebagai dasar dalam penyusunan buku ajar tata bahasa Jerman. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Partisipan yang dilibatkan adalah 30 mahasiswa pendidikan bahasa Jerman yang telah memprogramkan mata kuliah tata bahasa Jerman dasar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 4 aspek yang sebaiknya diperhatikan dalam penyusunan buku ajar tata bahasa diantaranya adalah 1) Komposisi setiap materi harus disesuaikan dengan analisis kebutuhan pembelajar menggunakan analisis kesalahan berbahasa, 2) Penggunaan Analisis Kontrastif untuk Menjelaskan Tata Bahasa Jerman, 3) Bentuk Soal Latihan yang Diberikan harus Bervariasi, 4) Menjelaskan Fenomena Tata Bahasa Jerman dengan Menggunakan Pendekatan Linguistik.

This paper aims at describing the student’s listening skill and their learning difficulties in listening comprehension. The method used was a descriptive method. The instruments were pre-TOEFL test and questionnaire. The population was the second year students of State University of Makassar. The results of this research are: the students have poor score in their listening comprehension and the students' learning difficulties in listening comprehension are: problem in interpretation, the lack of vocabulary, difficulty to concentrate, problem with lecturer's accent, confusion in similar phonemes, the speed of the speech problem in accent, problem in reduction and there are no repetitions and in learning media, the noise from students themselves, unclear sound, air conditioner problems and seat position. Based on the result, the writer concludes that the students' ability in listening comprehension is still poor, the teacher should motivate them to develop the habit of writing daily listening so that they can improve their skill.

The purpose of this study is to identify leadership in Fury movie directed by David Ayer. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. The result of this study: (1). The main character is the leader of his team. He makes a strategy and he tells the strategy to his team. (2) Leadership style of the main character in the Fury movie are autocratic and bureaucratic leadership style. (3) The moral message in the movie are a virtue, sacrifice and religious man in doing their task in the battlefield.

Langston Hughes is a black American poet who strived to express the experiences of Black in the United States. One of his poem is Fredom Plow which utilized through lots symbols that refered to the problem of discrimination and the vision of American as a nation. This study is aimed to analyze the expression of Black American expression in Freedom’s Plow poem. This study used semiotics approach in analyzing research data by adopting model proposed by C.S Pierce. There are three types of signs based on the relationship between the sign and the signified, namely; Icons, Index, and symbols. Based on the semiotics frameworks, this study found that Langston Hughes harneses the signs to express (1) preserverance of black to get freedom, (2) expossing the contradiction of American democracy, and (3) the expression of togetherness and unity

This research analyzed the implementation of Treffinger learning model in teaching speaking skill. This research used n classroom action research by applying treffinger learning model in speaking class. In collecting the data, research used observation to observe the implementation of Treffinger learning model during teaching learning process and used speaking test to find the improvement of students’ speaking skill during implementation of Treffinger learning model. The research finding showed that the implementation of Treffinger learning model can improve the students’ speaking skill. Thereore, it can be concluded that Treffinger learning model is acceptable to be used as teaching learning model in teaching speaking.

The objective of this research is to analyze the translation of German “Funktionsverbgefüge” (verbal-nominal constructions) into bahasa and to find out the understanding of translating procedure, the equivalences and deviations in translating the forms. This research methodology is qualitative using content analysis technique. Data were sentences using the FVG. They were taken from a roman ‘Herr der Diebe” by Cornelia Funke and its version in bahasa. There were 137 FVG found and analyzed. The result of this research shows that (1) there are expressions using FVG were translated with five translating procedure, (2) it was found that the translated phrases habe communicative equivalences with the source sentences, and (3) the translating deviations found were most becouse of the translators failure in finding the right words.
