Abstract

This mentoring program outlines strategies and concrete steps implemented to overcome household waste management problems in Purwojati Village, Ngoro District, Mojokerto Regency. This problem is motivated by the lack of knowledge and skills of the community in managing waste into valuable products. Therefore, the UM Abdimas Team provides waste processing assistance to residents, Community Self-Help Groups, and the Purwojati Village Government by maximizing the use of waste management tools provided. As a result, residents can independently process household waste into eco-enzymes, compost and various handicrafts. So it can reduce the volume of waste in Mojokerto Regency, prevent environmental pollution, and create a new source of income for the residents of Purwojati Village. This program also supports the Zero Waste Society vision which aims to create a society that is more responsible for their environment, especially in Purwojati Village.

Abstract

The programs regarding religious moderation are activities that are in line with the principles of the state. The essence of this program is that everything carried out in an agency must be moderate and not extreme left or right. This means that attitudes of tolerance, mutual respect, non-violence, and upholding the foundations of the state are manifestations of religious moderation. This service is motivated by the culture in Pariaman which does not accept the presence of immigrants, especially ethnic Chinese, because of the history of the previous Khanso incident. The aim of this service is to socialize religious moderation through strengthening teacher competence using comic strips as a learning medium for teachers that will be used in the learning process. The service partners are 15 teachers of MTSN 1 and MTSN 2 Pariaman. The method used in this service is PAR. It was held on 9-10 December 2023 at the Joyo Makmur Pariaman. The result are teachers will be able to create comics based on religious moderation according to the subjects they teach and make students understand the concept of religious moderation. Hopefully the message in the comic will be conveyed and students can apply it in their daily lives.

Abstract

The priority problem for goat and sheep breeders in Wagir District, Malang Regency is the low ability to process animal feed. Therefore, it is necessary to transfer knowledge and feed technology to increase the capacity of breeders in providing quality feed. The method used in this service activity is a participatory action and learning system approach which includes Focus Group Discussions, training and demonstration of feed fermentation technology, mentoring and field monitoring of the results of fermented feed technology transfer in 12 villages. All feed can be provided independently (100%). Utilization of local resources in providing quality animal feed for sheep and goats is at least 85% so this also has an impact on increasing farmers' income because the use of feed is more efficient and effective. Community service activities have been running very well and successfully with the support and cooperation of all partners and breeders in Wagir District and Malang Regency. This good cooperation needs to be maintained and further improved.

Abstract

Waste management is one of the environmental problems faced by communities in several areas, including Batu City. One of the waste produced is household waste. Households are communities in society that play a big role in producing both organic and non-organic waste. One way that can be done to reduce organic waste is to use a household-scale composter. This program may be a green activity program which may be a community benefit program carried out in collaboration between the UI School of Strategic and Global Studies (SKSG) and the residents of RT 04 RW 09, Pesanggrahan Village, Batu City. The aim of this activity is to provide education and practice in making organic composters. Composts can be used to produce solid and liquid compost from organic household waste in the form of food scraps and vegetable scraps. The method used begins with observation, preparation and implementation. This compost making training aims to provide knowledge, insight and skills to the community regarding processing organic waste to make it more useful.
