Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Iodine Defi ciency Disorder (IDD) is a health problem that affects quality of human resources. IDD happens not only due to iodine defi ciency but also other disorders such as goitrogenic substance (thiocyanate), pollutants of heavy metals (Pb) and micronutrient defi ciency (Fe) that inhibit thyroid hormone biosynthesis which cause the sweling of goitre glands.Objective: To identify the association between consumption of iodine, thiocyanate, Fe consumption, status of anemia and Pb and status of IDD in pregnant mothers at Subdistrict of Tabunganen, District of Barito Kuala, Province of Kalimantan Selatan.Method: The study was observational using case control design and quantitative method. Data were obtained through the palpation of goitre glands, measurement of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) level using ELISA method, iodine and thiocyanate consumption using food recall 2x24 hours and food frequency questionnaire (FFQ), Fe consumption using FFQ, Hb level using photometric method and Pb level using AAS method. Data were analysed by using chi-square and logistic regression.Result: There was signifi cant association (p<0.05) between consumption of iodine (fi sh) based on FFQ and IDD status (goitre) with OR=3.44 and IDD status (TSH) with OR=8.00. There was no association between consumption of thiocyanate and Fe measured with food recall, FFQ and IDD status (goitre and TSH). There was signifi cant association (p<0.05) between Pb status and IDD status (TSH) with OR=9.35.Conclusion: There was association between iodine consumption based on FFQ (fi sh) and IDD status (goitre) after the control of iodine consumption status (food recall). There was association between iodine consumption status (FFQ) in fi sh together with anemia status and the prevalence of IDD disorder (TSH) after the control of Pb status. GAKY tidak hanya disebabkan oleh kekurangan yodium, tetapi juga dipengaruhi oleh zat goitrogen(tiosianat), logam berat Pb, dan kekurangan Fe yang menghambat biosintesis hormon dan berakibat pada pembesaran kelenjar gondok.Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat konsumsi yodium, goitrogen (golongan tiosianat), Fe, serta status anemia dan status Pb dalam darah dengan status GAKY pada ibu hamil di  Kecamatan Tabunganen Kabupaten Barito Kuala Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan rancangan case control. Data pembesaran kelenjar tiroid diperiksa denganpalpasi di daerah kelenjar tiroid, kadar TSH dengan metode ELISA, tingkat konsumsi yodium dan tingkat konsumsi tiosianat dengan metode food recall 2 x 24 jam dan food frequency questionnaire  (FFQ), tingkat konsumsi Fe dengan FFQ, kadar Hb dalam darah dengan metode fotometrik, kadar Pb darah dengan metode AAS.Data dianalisis menggunakan chi-square dan logistic regression.Hasil: Ada hubungan signifi kan (p<0,05) antara tingkat konsumsi yodium (ikan laut) berdasarkan FFQ dan status terhadap status GAKY (gondok) dengan OR=3,44 dan status GAKY (TSH) dengan OR=8,00.Tidak ada hubungan antara tingkat konsumsi tiosianat dan Fe yang diukur dengan food recall, FFQ, dan status GAKY (gondok dan TSH). Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Stunting is an indicator of chronic malnutrition that reflects problem of overall social economic condition in the past and as a manifestation of further consequences of the prevalence of low birth weight and undernutrition in children underfive and absence of supreme catch-up growth in the followingyears. Stunting brings impact to physical growth disorder that results in low capacity in working memory, learning memory, visuospatial ability and cognitive function. Low economic condition, rearing pattern, eating pattern, nutrient intake for a long time cause high prevalence of stunting in children underfives. The result of basic health survey 2007 showed the prevalence of stunting at the Province of Nusa Tenggara Timur was 46.7%, in District of Timor Tengah Utara was 59.6% and at Subdistrict of Biboki Utara in two subsequent years were 64.6% and 60.2%.Objectives: To identify association between history of rearing pattern, eating pattern, nutrient intake and stunting in children of 24-59 months in Subdistrict of Biboki Utara District of Timor Tengah Utara Province of Nusa Tenggara Timur.Methods: The study was observational with case control design. Research instrument was questionnaire that was used to identify history of rearing pattern, eating pattern and nutrient intake through recall 4x24 hours subsequently. The study was carried out in Subdistrict of Biboki Utara with subject of the study were children of 24-59 months old involving a total of 152 subjects consisting of 76 children underfive as cases and 76 as control.Results: History of inadequate rearing pattern was 53.9%, eating pattern 55.9%, energy intake 55.9%, protein intake 52.6%, calcium intake 52.0%, infection disease 51.3%, family economy 61.8%, food tenacity 71.7%. The result of bivariate analysis showed variables of history of rearing pattern, eating pattern, nutrient intake, infection disease, family economy had significant association (p<0.05) with stunting whereas food security had no significant association. The result of multivariate analysis showed variable of history of rearing pattern most dominantly influenced the prevalence of stunting.Conclusions: There was significant association between history of rearing pattern, eating pattern, intake of protein, energy, calcium and stunting.KEYWORDS: rearing pattern, eating pattern, nutrient intake, culture, economy, infection disease, food security, stunting,children underfiveABSTRAKLatar belakang: Stunting merupakan salah satu indikator gizi kronis yang dapat memberikan gambaran gangguan keadaan sosial ekonomi keseluruhan di masa lampau. Stunting diketahui dengan melakukan pengukuran indikator TB/U. Dampak stunting menyebabkan menurunnya pertumbuhan, perkembanganmotorik terlambat, terhambatnya pertumbuhan mental, penurunan intelegensi anak, penurunan kualitas sumber daya manusia dan produktivitas. Anak stunting umur ≥ 2 tahun mempunyai risiko mengalami morbiditas dan obesitas lebih tinggi. Dengan rendahnya keadaan ekonomi, pola asuh, pola makan,asupan zat gizi dalam kurun waktu yang lama menyebabkan tingginya prevalensi stunting pada balita. Hasil riskesdas tahun 2007, prevalensi stunting provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur sebesar 46,7% dan prevalensi di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara sebesar 59,6% dan di Kecamatan Biboki Utara 2 tahun berturut-turut adalah 64,6% dan 60,2%.Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan riwayat pola asuh, pola makan, asupan zat gizi terhadap kejadian stunting pada anak usia 24-59 bulan di Kecamatan Biboki Utara Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara ProvinsiNTT. Metode: Jenis penelitian studi observasional dengan rancangan case-control dengan alat ukur menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengetahui riwayat pola asuh, pola makan dan asupan zat gizi menggunakan recall 24 jam. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Biboki Utara dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 152 yang terdiri dari 76 anak sebagai kasus dan 76 anak sebagai kontrol.Hasil: Riwayat pola asuh kurang (53,9%), pola makan (55,9%), asupan energi (55,9%), asupan protein (52,6%), asupan kalsium (52,0%), budaya (61,1%), penyakit infeksi (51,3%), ekonomi keluarga (61,8%), ketahanan pangan (71,7%), berdasarkan analisis bivariat yang dilakukan diperoleh variabel riwayatpola asuh, pola makan, asupan zat gizi, budaya, penyakit infeksi, ekonomi keluarga memiliki hubungan yang signifikan (p<0,05), ketahanan pangan tidak signifikan terhadap kejadian stunting (p>0,05). Analisis multivariat diperoleh variabel riwayat pola asuh paling dominan berpengaruh terhadap kejadian stunting.Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna pada variabel pola asuh, pola makan, asupan zat gizi, budaya, ekonomi keluarga dan penyakit infeksi terhadap kejadian stunting, tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna pada variabel ketahanan pangan terhadap kejadian stunting.KATA KUNCI: pola asuh, pola makan, asupan zat gizi, budaya, ekonomi, penyakit infeksi ketahanan pangan, stunting

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Severe malnutrition is a state of severe malnourished condition caused by low consumption of energy and protein in a long time. Severe malnutrition interferes the children growth and development, moreover malnourished children are vulnerable to get infectious diseases, even the death.Objectives: To analyze the risk factors of severe malnutrition among children under five in Donggala, Central of Sulawesi Province.Methods: This study used case-control (observational study). The study was conducted in District Dampelas Donggala on July to September 2014. The population was all children underfive selected by total sampling method. The samples were 64 children aged 0-59 months which separated into 2 groups,case and control group.The independent variables were the level of energy intake of protein, parenting, and infectious diseases, while the dependent variable was the incidence of severe malnutrition among children under five. Data were obtained by direct interview using questionnaire and recall 24 hours to determine the level of energy and protein intake. The data collected were analyzed using univariate analysis (descriptive), bivariate (chi-square), and multivariate (multiple logistic regression).Results: The result of this study based on the bivariate analysis presented that the level of energy intake (OR=9.86, 95% CI:3.49-27.89), infectious disease (OR=2.83, 95% CI:1.10-7.31), and as low birth weight external variables (OR=5.76, 95% CI:1.43-23.20) signifi cantly associated with the incidence of severe malnutrition. There were no significant association between the level of protein intake (OR=1.18, 95% CI:0.47-2.92) and parenting (OR=1.21, 95% CI:0.50-2.92) with the incidence of severe malnutrition. In the other hand, based on multivariate analysis by controlling the variable of low birth weight history, this study’s result presented that the level of energy intake had the strongest association with the risk of incidence of severe malnutrition compared to the other variables.Conclusions: The level of energy intake and infectious disease were the risk factors for the incidence of severe malnutrition among children under five, while the level of protein intake and parenting were not.KEYWORDS: children underfive, energy, infectious disease, parenting, protein, severe malnutritionABSTRAKLatar belakang: Gizi buruk adalah keadaan kurang gizi tingkat berat yang disebabkan oleh rendahnya konsumsi energi dan protein dalam waktu cukup lama. Kekurangan gizi selain mengganggu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan, dapat pula mengakibatkan balita rentan terhadap penyakit infeksi bahkan dapatmenyebabkan kematian.Tujuan: Untuk menganalisis faktor risiko kejadian gizi buruk pada balita di Kabupaten Donggala, Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah.Metode: Jenis penelitian ini observasional dengan rancangan case-control. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Dampelas, Kabupaten Donggala pada bulan Juli sampai September 2014. Populasi adalah semua balita dan sampel ditentukan dengan metode total sampling. Balita usia 0–59 bulan yang berjumlah 64 dimasukkan pada masing-masing kelompok kasus dan kontrol. Variabel bebas yaitu tingkat asupan energi protein, pola asuh, dan penyakit infeksi sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah kejadian gizi buruk pada balita. Data diperoleh dengan wawancara langsung menggunakan kuesioner dan recall 24 jam untuk mengetahui tingkat asupan energi dan protein. Data dianalisis dengan analisis univariat (deskriptif), bivariat (chi-square), dan multivariat (regresi logistik berganda).Hasil: Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan bahwa tingkat asupan energi (OR=9,86, 95% CI:3,49-27,89), penyakit infeksi (OR=2,83, 95% CI:1,10-7,31), dan variabel luar BBLR (OR=5,76, 95% CI:1,43-23,20) berhubungan signifikan dengan gizi buruk. Tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat asupan protein (OR=1,18, 95%CI:0,47-2,92) dan pola asuh (OR=1,21, 95%CI:0,50-2,92) dengan gizi buruk. Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Quality of human resource was built since human being was in the womb. Pregnant mother’s health had signifi cant impact on fetus. Pregnant mother’s with anemia and CED would surely have significant impact on the fetus in their womb because it would make low birth weight. If a child with low birth weight can not catch up grow, it was highly possible that they would suffer from stunting. Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between nutritional status of pregnant mother with stunting in children 6-23 age month in Sedayu, Bantul, Yogyakarta.Methods: It was observational study with case-control design. The number of samples were 252 children aged 6-23 months. All of stunting children aged 6-23 months in Sedayu subdistrict were selected as samples. Cases and controls samples were matching based on age. Data were collected using structured questionnaire to fi nd out the identity of the children aged 6-23 month, identity of respondents, the nutritional status of the children aged 6-23 month, the history of nutritional status of the pregnant mothers’ and sociodemographic. Anthropometric measurement used microtoise to fi nd out parent’s height, infantometer to find out children length, semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) and food models were used as instrument. The data was analyzed using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with chisquaretest, and multivariate analysis with multiple logistic regression.Results: The bivariate analysis showed that anemic history during pregnancy was the risk factor of stunting, but it was not statistically signifi cant (p=0.13, OR:1.5, 95% CI:0.85-2.73). The CED history during pregnancy was not the risk factor of the stunting incident (p=0.23, OR:0.7, 95% CI:0.37-1.31). Other factors related to the stunting incidence were mother’s height (p=0.01, OR:2.04, 95% CI:1.14-3.65), the history of low birth weight (p=0.03, OR:3.03, 95% CI:1.09-8.33), and food insecurity (p=0.04, OR:2.7, 95% CI:1.04-7.00). The multivariate analysis showed that mother’s height was correlated with the stunting incidence in Sedayu subdistrict.Conclusion: Factors that influence the incidence of stunting in children aged 6-23 month were pregnant mother with anemia, history of low birth weight, food insecurity, and stunted mother. Stunted mother was associated with the incidence of stunting. Kesehatan ibu saat hamil akan sangat mempengaruhi kesehatan janin yang dikandungnya. Ibu hamil yang anemia dan menderita kekurangan energi kronis (KEK) tentu akan mempengaruhi kesehatan janin yang dikandungnya, karena akan menyebabkan bayi lahir dengan berat yang rendah. Bila tidak bisa tumbuh kejar, bayi BBLR kemungkinan besar akan menderita stunting. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara status gizi ibu saat hamil dengan kejadian stunting pada anak usia 6-23 bulan di Kecamatan Sedayu, Kabupaten Bantul.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan desain case-control. Jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 252 anak berusia 6-23 bulan yang berasal dari 4 desa di Kecamatan Sedayu. Semua anak stunting usia 6-23 bulan diambil sebagai sampel, dengan matching umur kasus dan kontrol. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur untuk mengetahui identitas anak usia 6-23 bulan, identitas responden, status gizi anak usia 6-23 bulan, riwayat status gizi ibu saat hamil, dan data sosiodemografi. Pengukuran antropometri terhadap tinggi badan orang tua dengan microtoise dan panjang badan anak dengan infantometer serta untuk SQ-FFQ menggunakan food model. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis univariat (deskriptif), bivariat (chi-square), dan multivariat (regresi logistik).Hasil: Hasil bivariat menunjukkan riwayat anemia saat hamil merupakan faktor risiko terjadinya stunting tetapi secara statistik tidak signifikan (p=0,13, OR=1,5, 95%CI=0,85-2,73). Riwayat KEK saat hamil bukan faktor risiko terhadap kejadian stunting (p=0,23, OR=0,7, 95% CI=0,37-1,31). Faktor lain yang berhubungandengan kejadian stunting adalah tinggi badan ibu (p=0,01, OR=2,04, 95% CI=1,14-3,65), riwayat BBLR (p=0,03, OR=3,03, 95% CI=1,09-8,33), dan rawan pangan (p=0,04, OR=2,7, 95% CI=1,04-7,00). Hasil analisis multivariat adalah tinggi badan ibu berhubungan dengan kejadian stunting di Kecamatan Sedayu, Bantul, Yogyakarta.Kesimpulan: Faktor yang mempengaruhi kejadian stunting adalah ibu hamil yang menderita anemia, mempunyai riwayat BBLR, rumah tangga rawan pangan dan tinggi badan ibu yang kurang. Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Riskesdas 2013 stated that 15 provinces had a prevalences of Diabetes Melitus disease above national prevalence. DIY province is one province with high prevalence of DM disease as many as 3,0%. Hyperglicemia is a sign of DM disease. Physical activity is one of the management programs in hyperglycemia patients. Physical activity plays a role in controlling the body’s blood glucose by turning glucose into energy.Objectives: To know the correlation between physical activity and hyperglikemia on Kyai and teacher in Islamic Boarding School in Special Region Yogyakarta (DIY).Methods: The study was an observational analytic study with Cross Sectional design. Population in this research was Kyai and teacher at Islamic Boarding School of DIY which amount 579 people. The minimum number of samples obtained was 184 respondents with probability proportional to size (PPS) sampling technique. Bllod Glucose data using Easy Touch  and physical activity data using International Physical Activity Questionaire (IPAQ) questionnaire. Data analysis in the form of frequency distribution, mean different test (T-test) and Chi Square test is done by using SPSS software.Results: Based on T-test showed that there was a difference of blood glucose between group of physical activity less with group activity enought but the difference was not significant with t-value = 0,446, p-value = 0,656, and mean different = 3,127,  and result of Chi Square test showed no significant correlation between physical activity and hyperglycemia with p-value = 0,969.Conclusions: There was no correlation between physical activity and hiperglikemia.KEYWORDS: hyperglicemia, Islamic Boarding School, Kyai, physical activity teacher

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Stunting is a chronic nutrition problem that reflects failure in growth accumulated before and after birth. Many factors affect the incidence of stunting, among others are exclusive breastfeeding and early introduction of complementary food. The result of a survey carried out by FAO, WFP, and UNICEF in 2010 showed the prevalence of stunting in children under five years old at Timor Tengah Selatan District was 61%.Objectives: To find out whether history of exclusive breastfeeding and early introduction of complementary food were predictors of stunting in children under two years old at Timor Tengah Selatan District.Methods: This was observational study by cross sectional design used quantitative and qualitative methods. Qualitative data obtained from focus group discussion. Subject of the study consisted of 408 children 6 to 24 months from 14 villages at Amanuban Barat and Kie Subdistrict selected through simple random sampling technique. Retrieval of data used a structured questionnaire. Stunting in children under two years old measured by indicators of body length by age. Data were analysed by chi square and logistic regression tests with 95% confident interval.Results: The proportion of stunting in children under two years old at Amanuban Barat and Kie Subdistrict was 49%. The proportion of exclusive breastfeeding was 61%, and early introduction of complementary food was 36,8%. Exclusive breastfeeding and early introduction of complementary food were not factors affecting the incidence of stunting in children under two years old. Factors more strongly affecting the incidence of stunting in children under two years old were energy intake and characteristics of parents that comprised education and occupation.Conclusions: Exclusive breastfeeding and early introduction of complementary food were not predictors of stunting in children under two years old at Amanuban Barat and Kie Subdistrict.KEYWORDS: stunting, exlusive breastfeeding, early introduction of complementary food, children under two years oldABSTRAKLatar belakang: Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang dapat memberikan gambaran kegagalan pertumbuhan yang terakumulasi sejak sebelum dan sesudah kelahiran. Faktor-faktor yang turut mempengaruhi kejadian stunting diantaranya pemberian ASI eksklusif dan pengenalan MPASI dini. Hasil survei yang dilakukan FAO, WFP, dan UNICEF tahun 2010 menunjukkan prevalensi stunting pada balita di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan mencapai 61%.Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui apakah riwayat pemberian ASI eksklusif dan MPASI dini merupakan prediktor terjadinya stunting pada anak di bawah dua tahun (baduta) di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan rancangan cross-sectional yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kualitatif yang diperoleh melalui focus group discussion. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 408 anak berusia 6-24 bulan yang berasal dari 14 desa di Kecamatan Amanuban Barat dan Kie yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur. Stunting pada baduta diukur menggunakan indikator panjang badan menurut umur (WHO 2005). Analisis data menggunakan uji chi square dan regresi logistik dengan 95% confident interval.Hasil: Proporsi baduta yang mengalami stunting sebesar 49%. Proporsi pemberian ASI eksklusif pada baduta sebesar 61% dan proporsi pemberian MPASI dini sebesar 36,8%. Pemberian ASI eksklusif dan MPASI dini bukan merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya stunting pada baduta. Faktor-faktor yang lebih kuat pengaruhnya terhadap terjadinya stunting pada baduta adalah asupan energi dan karakteristik orang tua yang meliputi pendidikan dan pekerjaan orang tua.Kesimpulan: Pemberian ASI eksklusif dan MPASI dini bukan merupakan prediktor terjadinya stunting pada baduta di Kecamatan Amanuban Barat dan Kie.KATA KUNCI: stunting, ASI eksklusif, MPASI dini, baduta

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Habits and preferences influence the street food consumption. Consuming of foods that are high in fat, protein, and carbohydrate could increase the risk to suffered from coronary heart  diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, and stroke. More than 90% diseases that occurs in human were caused by food contamination of microorganisms, likes typhus and hepatitis A.Objectives:To analyze factors related to street food consumer preferences of Universitas Gadjah Mada’s students.Methods:This was an observational research with cross sectional design. Samples were 96 UGM’s undergraduate students of the year 2012 taken by cluster sampling. Datas were obtained by interview using questionnaire consumer preferences of street food and the individual and food characteristics. Data were then analysed by statistical analysis using correlation test (contingency coeffi cient and Spearman) and multivariate analysis using logistic regression.Results: There was correlation between sex (RR:1.60, p=0.012), income (RR:1.36, p=0.017) and food prices (RR:0.52, p=0.001) with preference of street food meal.There was correlation between knowledge about nutrition (RR:27.75, p=0.000) and hygiene and sanitation (RR:1.25, p=0.000) with preference of street food on fruit group at Universitas Gadjah Mada’s students.Conclusions: Sex, income, and food prices related to preference of street food on meal. Mengonsumsi makanan tinggi lemak, protein, dan karbohidrat dapat meningkatkan risiko terserang penyakit jantung koroner, tekanan darah tinggi, diabetes mellitus, dan stroke. Lebih dari 90% penyakit yang terjadi pada manusia disebabkan oleh kontaminasi mikroorganisme melalui makanan seperti penyakit tifus dan hepatitis A.Tujuan: Menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan preferensi konsumen street food pada mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada.Metode: Jenis penelitian observasional dengan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian sebesar 96 orang mahasiswa S1 Universitas Gadjah Mada angkatan 2012 yang diambil secara cluster sampling. Data diperoleh dengan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner preferensi konsumen street food, karakteristik individu, dan makanan.Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji korelasi yaitu koefi sien kontingensi dan Spearman, sedangkan analisis multivariat menggunakan regresi logistik.Hasil: Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin (RR:1,60, p=0,012), pendapatan RR:1,36, p=0,017), dan harga makanan (RR:0,52, p=0,001) merupakan faktor yang berhubungan dengan preferensi konsumen street food kelompok menu utama (RR:27,75, p=0,000), sedangkan pengetahuan gizi dan higiene sanitasi makanan (RR:1,25, p=0,000) merupakan faktor yang berhubungan dengan preferensi konsumen street food kelompok buah-buahan pada mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada. Kesimpulan: Jenis kelamin, pendapatan, dan harga makanan berhubungan dengan preferensi konsumen street food kelompok menu utama. Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Diabetes mellitus (DM) can cause various chronic complications on the eyes, kidney, neuronal, and blood vessel. Family support is very important to motivate the patient in performing the treatment of diabetes mellitus or diet. Therefore, knowledge and family support can influence the undergoing treat mentor therapy of diabetes mellitus. Having the knowledge, patient can know impact of the disease and in the treatment of therapy that must be done. Good knowledge and family supports can improve patient compliance in undergoing diet.Objectives: To know the association between the knowledge level and family support with compliance in the diet therapy among the patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 in Puskesmas Kasihan II Bantul Yogyakarta.Methods: This was a quantitative descriptive research with cross sectional design. Sampling technique used was quota sampling, where sample were gained in accordance with research criteria of 68 people. Initially, data analysis used was Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Multivariate analysis used was multiple linier regression.Results: The research showed that the most of respondents had good knowledge level (82.4%) and also family support of the respondent towards compliance in the diet therapy of DM type 2 (51.5%). The compliance level of the respondents in the diet therapy of DM type 2 that was in the sufficient category as many as76.5%. Knowledge and family support did not relate with compliance in the diet of diabetes mellitus type 2 with p-value consecutively was 0.537 and 0.937. Knowledge level and family support had influence as many 11.5% toward diet pursuance. Knowledge level influenced more toward diet compliance (p=0.041).Conclusions: There was no association between knowledge level and family support with compliance in the diet therapy on the patient with diabetes mellitus type 2 in Puskesmas Kasihan II Bantul Yogyakarta.KEYWORDS: knowledge, family support, diabetes mellitusABSTRAKLatar belakang: Diabetes mellitus adalah keadaan hiperglikemi kronik yang disertai berbagai kelainan akibat gangguan hormonal yang menimbulkan berbagai komplikasi kronik pada mata, ginjal, saraf, dan pembuluh darah. Dukungan keluarga sangat penting untuk memotivasi pasien dalam menjalankanpengobatan ataupun diet diabetes mellitus. Oleh karena itu pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga sangat mempengaruhi dalam menjalankan pengobatan maupun terapi diabetes mellitus, karena dengan pengetahuan yang dimiliki pasien bisa mengetahui tentang penyakitnya, dampak-dampak dari penyakitnya, serta berpengaruh dalam pengobatan maupun terapi yang harus dilakukan, salah satunya adalah diet diabetes mellitus dan pengetahuan yang baik serta adanya dukungan dari keluarga dapat meningkatkan kepatuhan pasien dalam menjalani diet.Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga dalam menjalani terapi diet di Puskemas Kasihan II Bantul Yogyakarta.Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif dengan rancangan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu quota sampling dan diperoleh 68 orang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Analisis multivariat menggunakan regresi linear.Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan tingkat pengetahuan responden sebagian besar tergolong baik yaitu sebanyak 82,4% (56 orang), dukungan keluarga responden terhadap kepatuhan dalam menjalani terapi diet DM tipe 2 yaitu sebagian besar dengan kategori baik sebanyak 51,5% (35 orang), tingkat kepatuhan responden dalam menjalani terapi diet DM tipe 2 yaitu dalam kategori cukup yaitu sebanyak 76,5% (52 orang). Untuk pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga tidak ada hubungan dengan kepatuhan dalam menjalani diet diabetes mellitus tipe 2 dengan menggunakan rumus Kolmogorov-Smirnov didapatkan nilai p=0,537;>0,05, nilai p=0,937; >0,05. Koefi sien determinasi variabel bebas mempengaruhi variabel terikat sebesar 11,5 % oleh variabel tingkat pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga.Kesimpulan: Tidak ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan dalam menjalani diet diabetes mellitus tipe 2 di Puskesmas Kasihan II Bantul Yogyakarta.KATA KUNCI: pengetahuan, dukungan keluarga, diabetes mellitus

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: The success of exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by several factors. One of them is the care taker contacts of children and old nursing mothers with children. Many mothers who leave their children because of work. It makes contact duration of mothers with their children becomes limited.Objectives: This research aimed to determine the relationship between parenting with the success of exclusive breastfeeding in District of Sedayu, Bantul, Yogyakarta.Methods: This research was quantitative analytical approach and reinforced with qualitative approach. This study used cross sectional design. The population in this study were all mothers with the children under two years old in the District of Sedayu, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The samples used in this study were 292 respondents that were selected by using techniques of probability proportional to size (PPS). Banyak ibu yang menitipkan anaknya karena bekerja, sehingga lama kontak ibu menyusui dengan anak menjadi terbatas.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh dengan keberhasilan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Kecamatan Sedayu, Kabupaten Bantul, Yogyakarta.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan diperkuat dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu yang memiliki anak di bawah umur dua tahun (baduta) di Kecamatan Sedayu.Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 292 responden menggunakan teknik probability propotional to size (PPS).Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik chi-square.Hasil: Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara pengasuh dengan pemberian ASI secara eksklusif (p=0,019).Kesimpulan: Ada hubungan antara pengasuh dengan pemberian ASI secara eksklusif.KATA KUNCI:pola asuh, pengasuh, ASI eksklusif

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Education, diet plan, pharmacologically and physical exercise are factors that can change the status of blood glucose levels. A low level of knowledge can affect the wrong dietary habit. DM patients are suggested to consume fiber as much as 25 g/ day.  Objectives: The article aimed to analyze the level of knowledge, fibers intake and physical exercise of type 2 DM patients’ blood glucose levels at Internal Disease Polyclinic of RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin.Methods: This study used observational analytics method with cross- sectional design. The population of this study were type 2 DM patients and had been checked for the fasting blood glucose levels at Internal Disease Polyclinic of RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin in April 2017. There were 47 samples that were taken by using purposive sampling. To collect food intake data, questionnaire food recall. The data analysis used Spearman’s correlation test rank and regesi logistic (mulivariate ) with 95% of confidence level.Results: The result showed that 66% of blood glucose levels were uncontrolled, 40.4% of knowledge level were average, 68.1% of fibers intake was less, and 57.4% of physical exercises were less. Level of knowledge, intake of fiber, physical exercise contributed to blood glucose levels. The level of glucose levels closeness to the knowledge level was very strong with r = -0.7783 and that of to fiber intake and physical exercise were moderate level with r = -0.471 and r = -0.381.Conclusions: Fiber intake and physical exercise are significantly associated with blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes outpatient. KEYWORDS : DM type 2, the level of knowledge, fiber, physical exercise, blood glucose.
