Abstract

Stroke is a brain functionality disorder caused by disruption of blood supply into the brain. Stroke is one of the leading causes of weakness or hemiparesis on ekstremities. A stroke patient who encounter hemiparesis may suffer joints contracture which then can become permanently disabled if it is not trained. In hospitals, Range of Motion Exercise is often performed, but the results are less optimal. This research aims to discover the combination effects of Range of Motion Exercise (ROM) and Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) to the changes of upper extremity functional ability by using a measuring tool Chedoke Arm and Hand Activity Inventory form (CAHAI) to stroke patients with hemiparesis at Interna 1 of dr. R. Soedarsono Regional Public Hospital, Pasuruan. This research uses Quasi Experimental with non-Equivalent Control Group design. The respondents were chosen by using Consecutive Sampling technique with a total of 34 respondents divided into two groups. 17 respondents as the treatment group were given combination therapy of ROM and CIMT and 17 respondents as control group were given ROM therapy only..The Statistical test was done by using Paired T-test and Independent T-test. According to the result of Paired T-test, there are differences found in the result of upper  extremity functional ability after the combination intervention of ROM and CIMT had been given in the treatment group with P Value 0.000 (p < 0.05). Then, the independent t-test stated that the intervention of ROM and CIMT hold an influence to upper extremity functional ability with P Value = 0.047 (p < 0.05). This research concludes that the combination of Range of Motion Exercise (ROM) and Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) can increase the upper extremity functional ability so that it can be used as an alternative of exercise therapy to increase the upper extremity functional ability of stroke patients.

Abstract

Population growth is a big problem for a country. The number of couples of childbearing age who using contraception should be increased in order to deal with this problem. Based on the results of the 2017 Indonesian Health Demographic Survey (SDKI), the number of couples of childbearing age using contraceptives was 57%. To increase the use of contraception, it is necessary for health facilities to play a role not only as providers of contraception, but also as providers of promotive and preventive services, so that couples of childbearing age can rationally choose the contraception to be used as needed. This research aimed to discover the relationship between contraceptive service sources and the modern contraceptive method used by couples of childbearing age. This research used the secondary data from the 2018 Program Performance and Accountability Survey of Population, Family Planning, and Family Development (abbreviated SKAP-KKBPK in Indonesia), using the cross-sectional research design and the Chi-square bivariate analysis. The population used in this research was all couples of childbearing age in Indonesia who becomes responden in SKAP-KKBPK, which were 60.599 couples, and the samples were all couples of childbearing age who used modern contraception, which were 26,776 couples. The research known that as much as 76,9 % couple of childbearing chose to use short-term contraceptive methods and 76,51 % choose visit to a source of private service contraceptive to get those contraceptives. Couples of childbearing age who use short-term contraceptive visit to private service contraceptive (85.9 %) and couples of childbearing age who use long term contraceptive visit to government service contraceptive (52.6 %). The conclusion of this research is the relationship between source service contraception with modern contraception method used. The source service contraceptive must to offer the quality service to encourage. So that couples of childbearing age can rationally choose the contraception to be used as needed.

Abstract

Unwanted pregnancy among the fertile couples which gives the negative impacts, can be prevented with efforts by using contraceptives to the fertile couples. But, the behavior of using contraceptives may vary among them. It might due to many factors, one of which is the knowledge levels of those fertile couples in using the contraceptives. This research is aimed at finding out the correlation between the knowledge levels with the behavior of using the contraceptives. The research employed the design of analytical observational study with cross-sectional approach. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Dusun Metes, Argorejo, Sedayu, Bantul. The respondents were selected by using techniques of sampling to 235 patients, dengan kriteria inklusi usia 15-49 tahun, masih memiliki pasangan. The researchers used questionnaires as research instruments and chi square as the analysis. The results showed that the behavior of using contraceptives could be divided into three kinds: the usage, the selection, and the substitution of the contraceptives. The chi-square analysis showed that the knowledge levels of the patients were not correlated to the behavior of using contraceptives either in the usage( p-value = 0,872 ), the selection ( p-value = 0,795), and the substitution( p-value = 0,872 ). Due to the result that there was no correlation between the level of knowledge and the behavior of using contraceptives among the fertile couples, this research argued that the more better the knowledge of the patients the more critical in view they decided to use the contraceptives. In this context, the role of health workers is necessarily needed to give counselings to those fertile couples in order to help them decide in doing it properly.

Abstract

Iron nutrition anaemia in adolescents is still a problem in Indonesia, where The need for iron and folic acid tablets in adolescents increases due to their growing period and having menstruation every month. Based on the results of Riskesdas 2018, 32% prevalence of anaemia occurs in adolescents as a result of a lack of food intake of iron sources. Various attempts were made to prevent and control anaemia but still Low awareness of young women about the importance of consuming iron and folic acid tablets as a measure to prevent anaemia. The result of a deficiency in haemoglobin levels causes symptoms of lethargy, fatigue and fatigue when doing activities which will have an impact on decreased concentration and learning achievement, and in the long term will affect the quality of human resources. The purpose of this study was to analyze the knowledge of young women about the consumption of iron and folic acid tablets with the incidence of anaemia in the female boarding school model STIKBA Jambi. Research design was cross-sectional, the population used in this study were young women in model dormitories, simple random sampling technique, the measuring instruments used were questionnaires and observation sheets as well as measuring instruments for haemoglobin (Hb) examination in the digital. The collected data were analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that 65% of adolescents had high knowledge about the consumption of iron (Fe) tablets, and 80% had anaemia. The reasons for adolescents not taking iron (Fe) tablets included 50% because of the colour of the pills, 90% because of the smell of the drugs, 100% because of nausea, 75% because they don't feel any complaints of anaemia, and 65% because they have difficulty defecating. The results of the statistical analysis showed no relationship between knowledge of iron (Fe) tablet consumption and anaemia (p value> 0.05). Knowledge that the consumption of iron and folic acid tablets does not affect the incidence of anaemia and the reason young women do not consume iron and folic acid tablets is because of the side effects that arise after consuming the iron and folic acid tablets, and there are no symptoms of anaemia.

Abstract

Perinatal death will decrease maternal quality of life and brought the mother to experience acute grief. Fetal movement count known as a self-screening strategy which may useful to prevent perinatal death and improve pregnancy outcome by increase maternal awareness of decrease fetal activity. On the other hand, this self-screening activity may increase maternal concern, especially maternal anxiety, which the association between these variable are inconsistent. To determine the effect of routine fetal movement counting on maternal anxiety among pregnant women. A comprehensive search was conducted using following database: PubMed, Science Direct and Cochrane Library without any limitation. Evidences about maternal anxiety related to fetal movement were provided by a literature review on the presence of anxiety among women who performing fetal movement count during pregnancy. Five studies were included in this review which consist of four randomized study and one systematic review. All studies were conducted in high income country, which the result may not be generalized in lower-middle income country setting. One RCT (n= 1,013) reported lower worry on fetal movement counting group, one RCT (n= 208) reported significant decrease in state and trait anxiety among counting group, one RCT with small sample (n= 33) found no significant change on state and trait anxiety between control and counting group, one RCT (n= 613) also found no significant change in psychological status among counting group. One systematic review (n=71,458) also reported significant decrease of maternal anxiety among counting group. This review provides sufficient evidence that routine fetal movement counting did not increase maternal anxiety, instead decrease maternal anxiety. Hence, fetal movement counting needs to be introduced to women widely. Further research need to be done in other population, which included lower-middle income country, in order to assess whether fetal movement counting shows positive effect on maternal anxiety in general population.

Abstract

The childbirth coverage in health facilities (PF) at UPTD Anggaberi Public Health Center  in 2017 has reached 72.6%, and increased in 2018 by 76.18%. At district level, the PF indicator at UPTD Anggaberi Public Health Center  has exceeded the target in Konawe District by 59,37%, however but the 80% target achievement of PF at the UPTD Anggaberi Public Health Center  has not been achieved6. Seeing this, the coverage of PF at the UPTD Anggaberi Public Health Center , there are still labors that are not performed in health facilities, so that it can affect the achievement of PF at the UPTD Anggaberi Public Health Center , Konawe District. The aim of the study was to analyze factors that influence utilization of health care facilities at the UPTD Anggaberi Public Health Center. This research is an analytical study with a cross sectional approach. The research instrument used was a structured questionnaire on the factors that affect the utilization of labor service in health care facilities. The number of samples was 51 women who had labor at the Anggaberi Health Center. Bivariate analysis was done with chi square test and multivariate analysis with logistic regression test. The results showed the six factors (education (p = 0.041) and work (p = 0.019) family income (p = 0.041) and accessibility (p = 0.021) husband support (p = 0.011) and health personnel support (p = 0.011) ) on the use of childbirth services in health care facilities at the UPTD Anggaberi Public Health Center , Konawe District. The multivariate results show that all independent variables in this study have a significance limit of p-value ≤ 0.25, so it can be concluded that there is an influence among each independent variable (education, occupation, income, accessibility, husband's support and support of health workers) with the dependent variable. (utilization of childbirth services in health service facilities). Health care centers are expected to improve the partnership with traditional midwife (dukun beranak) within their work area so that the dukun can become well trained and they can collaborate in every childbirth

Abstract

Cases of death in HIV / AIDS are still a benchmark for the success of treatment. Studies of predictors of death in people with HIV in the general population are still very limited. Longitudinal analytic with a retrospective approach using cohort data of patients receiving antiretroviral drugs at Buleleng General Hospital in the period 2006-2015. Analysis uses logistic regression with SPSS version 17. Results show a total of 1204 that the incidence of total mortality rate is 3 per 100 person years. 50% of deaths occurred at 0.14 years of observation. Men and the general functional status of employment were predictors of death in PLHAs. Men have a risk of death 2.12 times higher than that of women (aOR 2.12 (p 0.01 CI 1.28-3.51). Functional status of beds increases the risk of death aOR 2.14 (CI 1.39-3.29 p 0.01).Men have a risk of death evaluation of the success of antiretroviral therapy considers studies and differences in needs between women and men.The functional status of beds shows a poor clinical condition that increases the risk of death in people with HIV. Evaluation of regularity of treatment and the incidence of gender-based deaths should be done more intensively.

Abstract

Anemia is a global public health problem that needs special attention. Anemia in adolescent girls is a common problem, especially in developing countries (WHO, 2008). Anemia is a health problem that is most often found in developed and developing countries, including Indonesia. The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia is not so far from the global anemia prevalence rate, which is 21.7%, where the prevalence of anemia has entered the category of public health problems. moderate so this should receive special attention. Adolescents are an age group that is very at risk of anemia because nutritional needs, especially iron, exceed the needs of other age groups due to accelerated growth and increased physical activity. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in the working area of Puskesmas Kota Selatan, Gorontalo City. This type of research is cross-sectional using the bivariate test with the chi square test and the multivariate test with logistic regression. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between age at menarche (p = 0.001), knowledge (p = 0.000), maternal education (p = 0.000), menstrual pattern (p = 0.000), BMI (p = 0.009), menstruation (p = 0.003). The most dominant factor for the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in the work area of Puskesmas Kota Selatan Kota Gorontalo is the knowledge factor with a p value of 0.001 exp B = 2,650 (CI 1.643-4770) which means that respondents who have good knowledge will have a chance of 2.6 times more. can prevent anemia which is controlled by variable menstrual patterns, menstrual age and mother's education.
