Abstract

The number of older adults found in Indonesia, as many as 30% claimed to have depression syndrome. Depression syndrome shows mood disorders, physical and cognitive symptoms. Cognitive symptoms can include difficulties in making decisions, decreased concentration, and physical symptoms. One of the management of depression is psychotherapy using brain gymnastics. Brain Gym has the benefit of activating the three dimensions of the brain, namely the concentration dimension, the lateral dimension, and the focusing dimension. This research method was quantitative by using a pre-experimental design with the Quasi-experiment pretest-posttest design without control group design. The research site was in the Posyandu for the elderly in Pabelan Village, Kartasura District, Sukoharjo, Central Java, with a time of March 1 - April 4, 2019, as many as 30 sites with a purposive sampling method. The inclusion criteria for respondents were aged over 60 years, experiencing mild and moderate depression, not on an anti-depressant, anti-psychotic, or anti-anxiety treatments. This research used the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) short form instrument and the Paired t-test.The results of the study obtained data that from the results of the pre-test, majority of respondents were Minor Depression (93.3%), from post-test 1, majority not Depressed (66.7%), and from the Post-test 2, majority Not Depressed (83.3%). The p-value of posttest 1 was 0.039, and posttest 2 was 0.001. The conclusion is that there is a significant influence in the provision of Brain Gymnastics in posttest 2, with a P-value of 0.001. The level of depression in the elderly results in the mean value of the pretest is higher than the value of the posttest, which means that the level of depression after brain gym therapy has decreased.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a disorder of pregnancy that increases risk for long-term health consequences for both mother and child, and if left untreated is one of the main causes of maternal and fetal mortality. However, delivery of the placenta is the only cure, making prevention options for this condition needed but little consensus exist on their effectiveness. Thus, we conducted a systematic literature review on the effectiveness of pharmacological interventions and dietary supplementations to prevent preeclampsia. We used MEDLINE and ProQuest to conduct a systematic search for peer-review publications on prevention of preeclampsia. We selected studies conducted in human and published in English from 2010 through 2020 on: i) types of interventions; ii) quality of studies and limitations. We selected 22 articles to be reviewed. Three types of pharmacological interventions and eight types of dietary supplementations were identified. Nitric Oxide-donors with Isosorbide Mononitrate (IMN), and aspirin have been shown to be effective, while selenium, calcium, vitamin D, DHA-rich fish oil-concentrate, copper, phytonutrient, Nitric Oxide-donors with Penthaerythrityl Tetranitrate (PETN), folic acid, vitamins C and E and magnesium have not been proved effective to prevent preeclampsia. Although all studies presented good quality of evidence, they had several limitations, the most common limitations are lack of initial therapy, lack of dosage, and inadequate sample size to detect small effect. Despite the growing evidence of treatments to prevent preeclampsia, their effect is not large. More research is needed in the field before prevention treatments are prescribed in clinical settings.

Abstract

Health problems continue to increase, especially in non-communicable diseases, Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2018 shows that the stunting rate has decreased from 37.2 percent to 30.8 percent over five years, while malnutrition, from 19.6 percent to 17.6 percent shows a decline that is still not significant in a long period. On the other hand, the obesity rate actually increased from 14.8 percent to 21.8 percent and almost all non-communicable diseases had increased. This problem does not only occur at productive age or the elderly, in fact this problem can be the result of health problems during adolescence. In accordance with Permenkes Nomor 25 Tahun 2014 tentang Upaya Kesehatan Anak (Child Health Effort), it mandates the participation of youth in youth health services. This is to reduce health problems in adolescents and through adolescent approaches, one of which is through health promotion by youth health cadres. To analyze health promotion methods for youth health cadres based on school and community approaches as recommendations for health promotion methods for adolescents. The research method used is qualitative with a case study design (Creswell, 2014). The collection techniques used were online surveys, literature studies, in-depth interviews, FGDs, and desk studies. The data analysis technique used is Content Analysis. Then the results of the content analysis were continued by analyzing health promotion methods by academics and practitioners. Triangulation will be carried out by observation, interviews and focus group discussions. The results showed that health promotion methods were divided into two, namely methods for changing behavior and methods for influencing the environment. Health promotion methods for youth health cadres based on school and community approaches include education through social media, webinars, team building, competitions, discussions with practitioners, training, games, simulations, performances, and youth events. Health promotion methods for adolescent health cadres are dynamic in nature and continue to develop, so studies and research related to the effectiveness of health promotion need to be continuously developed.

Abstract

Maternal mortality rates in 2016 rose compared to 2015. The causes of maternal death in 2016 were Severe Preeclampsia (PEB) as much as 33% (4 cases), Bleeding by 17% (2 cases), Heart Failure 17% (2 cases), Sepsis 17% (2 cases) and Other 16% (2 cases). Some studies state that preeclampsia occurs due to the influence of anxiety during pregnancy. Pregnancy is a period of crisis that involves also psychological factors, hormonal changes causing the mother's emotions to become lame. In addition to physical factors, psycho social factors can add anxiety in pregnant women. High stress in pregnancy can increase stress hormones, it can also lead to increased blood pressure and birth weight loss. Prevention can be done by pregnant women to have a healthy condition both the mother and her fetus, as well as through the normal labor process that is by exercising, gymnastics, dancing, and yoga. At this time yoga becomes one of the self help that can support the process of pregnancy, birth. Physiological of yoga performed during pregnancy is reversing the effects of stress involving the parasympathetic part of the central nervous system. The effects of such stress will be inhibited by relaxation, so that the hormones that cause body dysregulation (cortisol) will be reduced in number. The hormone cortisol is an increased hormone in anxiety so by masterminding this hormone can lower the anxiety levels of pregnant women which has an impact on the decreased risk of PEB. Look at the effect of Yoga exercise on cortisol hormone levels in pregnant women. This type of quantitative research is True Experimental research method, with Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Respondents who used pregnant women who participated in prenatal yoga, samples taken with the Formula Freeder obtained 16 pregnant women with control as many as 16. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson Chi-Square test with a result of p <0.00 which indicates a correlation. There is an effect of yoga on cortisol levels in pregnant women.

Abstract

The key to the success of cervical cancer control programs is screening followed by adequate treatment. The socio-economic status gap and the low level of education lead to limited awareness and understanding of women of childbearing age. Increasing the capacity of knowledge of women of childbearing age through health education either directly or indirectly is important. Therefore, there is need to develop health education by utilizing the rapidly growing media today such as through the application of cross platform messages on smartphones. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of health education on detection of cervical cancer through the application of cross-platform messages to increase knowledge and attitude of Women in Childbearing Age. A quasi-experimental research of pre-posttest design with control groups conducted consisting of 72 subjects of Women in Childbearing Age. Fogg's Behavior Model was the conceptual framework that guided the development of the cross-platform messaging intervention. A series of checklist from expert panel conducted to inform the development of the cross-platform messaging intervention. The messages are delivered for a 7-day period in the morning. Data collection using a checklist instrument. Univariable analysis through Rasch and bivariable modeling using numerical categorical comparative test, difference using T test. Findings revealed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and attitude of cervical cancer screening. Women of Childbearing Age whose health education through cross-platform application has a 3.5 times probability of knowledge and good attitude compared to women of childbearing age who are not getting health education through cross-platform applications. Health education through cross-platform messaging services can be a cheap and effective method to improve the knowledge and attitude of women of childbearing age, as well as reaching individuals who have never done early detection of cervical cancer.

Abstract

Integrated Management of Sick Toddler (MTBS) is an integrated approach whose governance is carried out on sick toddlers with outpatient facilities. MTBS is used as a service standard for sick infants and toddlers as well as a guideline for nursing staff (midwives and nurses) especially in primary health care facilities. In 2006 the MTBS program socialization and training for puskesmas staff were conducted, where each puskesmas was represented by 1 medical staff and 2 paramedics. MTBS aims to reduce morbidity and mortality due to diarrhea, pneumonia, DHF and infections. IMR in Sleman Regency is better than the national target. In 2015 there were 14,134 live births and 51 (3.61%) stillbirths. This tends to decrease from 2014 when the number of live births was 14,406 with 67 infant deaths (4.65%). The death was caused by diarrhea, pneumonia, DHF and infections. This shows that there is still a need to increase the role of cross-program and cross-sectoral efforts to reduce infant mortality, which is to evaluate the implementation of IMCI or MTBM in the Sleman D.I Yogyakarta Public Health Center.Research Purpose investigate the factors in the implementation of IMCI at the Sleman D.I Yogyakarta Public Health Center.Research Methods is descriptive qualitative. The main Informantts were 25 MTBS officers, 25 Puskesmas heads, and 1 Kasie Kesga District Health Office, Sleman D.I Yogyakarta with in-depth interviews.Research result: All puskesmas in Sleman Regency have implemented MTBS services according to service procedures with different achievements in each puskesmas. This is due to the disorderly officers in conducting data recapitulation. The achievement of the MTBS program in Sleman Regency was 65.39%.Conclusion: The MTBS program at the Sleman district health center has been implemented well due to several factors, namely Human Resources, both the number of trained health workers and the quality of the competencies of health workers, leadership support in the form of facilities and infrastructure, as well as funding support in increasing competence.
