Abstract

Increased  feeding at the waste of  feed and feces are discharged into the aquatic environment  make increase the consumption of dissolved oxygen  to decompose. If it continues, there will be an aerobic and reductive conditions, especially in bottom water, they  will be accelerate the decomposition of organic material in aerobic to produce toxic materials which endanger the fish. Purpose of this study was simulate the dynamic model of water quality in tilapia farming in the swamp waters, so can make a good scenario in produced tilapia farming activities in production of appropriate sustainable land productivity capabilities. Data analysis of dynamic model was performed with Power Sim Studio 5. simulation results showed  the growth of tilapia with probiotics feed better than without probiotic feed, and environmental improvements swamp waters. Recommended on first scenario (one crop) and second scenario (two crops) in a year , there is a time break of reproduction  if  harvest done 1-2 times a year for recovery (self purification) natural wetlands, then can create more sustainable aquaculture. The third simulation (three harvests a year) are not recommended, because the land  used continuously without a break will cause impaired water quality and impact on the decline in fish production as well as unsustainable.

Abstract

The province of South Kalimantan has the largest peat swamp that is named Danau Panggang Swamp with an area of 5,390.7 Ha. This swamp has ecological, economic and potential functions of a large fishery resource. The purposes of this study are to evaluate the exploitation rate of Snake Head Fish (Channa striata) in Danau Panggang Swamp, by population dynamic analysis using FISAT program of Von Bertalanffy method.  The results showed that the growth pattern of Snake Head Fish (Channa striata) has the tendency to grow negative allometric with 63.4 cm of long infifer (L¥), growth rate (k) 0.15 per year, theoretical age at the time of the fish is equal to 0 (t0) is -1.48257 years. While the natural mortality rate (M) was 0.43, the mortality rate due to catch (F) of 0.69/year and the total mortality rate  (Z) of 1.12/year, and the rate of exploitation value E = 0.62.  These results indicated that the exploitation rate of Head Snake Fish (Channa striata) in Danau Panggang swamp has a tendency to overfishing.

Abstract

Tabalong Regency with an area of 3.946 km2, has a forest area of 2,087 km2; featuring lively activity going on illegal logging. The impact of environmental losses arising from the practice of illegal logging currently has been very well perceived by the people who live inside and outside of the Tabalong Regency. A variety of protective measures and safeguards the forest against illegal logging practices have been implemented, but not yet a lot of fruition. This is because the efforts that have been made less touched on the main problems of illegal logging practices, so I need to know the primary cause factor of occurrence of illegal logging practices in order to be compiled a concrete action and policy formulation that is strategic in preventing illegal logging practices. This study aims to explore the main factors that led to the practice of illegal logging in Tabalong Regency, as well as how prevention strategies. This research uses qualitative research methods with approach case studies, using interview techniques, observation and study of the literature. The results showed that the main factor is the cause of rampant illegal logging practices in Tabalong Regency is not effectively monitoring and control the administering of wood in preventing the occurrence of illegal logging practices. This is the cause of the occurrence a mode of “bleaching” against the wood results in illegal logging. Strategy of prevention of illegal logging in Tabalong Regency will need to be directed at efforts to increase the effectiveness of oversight and control over the administering of wood in preventing the occurrence of illegal logging practices through the powers given to the provincial government as well as the County Government, including efforts to: (a) monitoring and control the administering forest products derived from forest rights and (b) monitoring and control the administering forest products on the timber industry.

Abstract

Mineral mining activities in Indonesia, especially those conducted in the open pit, to dismantle the hard rock is usually done by blasting. Blasting process is often conducted over the protests of the residents of the villages around the mining area , due to frequent ground shaking (ground vibration ) whose velocity exceeds the threshold value at certain distances from the center of the ground shaking explosions cause damage and discomfort felt by surrounding population . Based on this, the research was conducted to determine the safe distance from the blasting vibration of the ground (ground vibration) and air blast (air blast) criteria based on the value of the safety standards that blasting can be well designed and to determine a safe zone for blasting activities. This study uses data processing BlastMate III / Minimate Plus is recorded into the computer/laptop using software blastware. The recorded data is then analyzed by comparing these data with existing vibration standards. The results of the study on coal blasting vibration will use Standard Quality Decree No. LH. 49 of 1996 . The results showed a safe distance from the blasting vibration ground (ground vibration) in the village of Manggis sub district Kelumpang is as far as 1037.84 meters upstream from the point of explosive or active pit areas with the use of blasting and air blast (air blast) is safe for the environment is at a distance comfort 900 m from the blast point average into the borehole 15 m and average load of 40,000 kg of explosives. Minister of Environment Decree No. 49 of 1996 on Raw Vibration Level around the mining area suitable for blasting in the area of PT. Arutmin Tambang Senakin.
