Abstract

Land use change is a dynamic process caused by human activities, and this change will have an impact on the hydrological response in a Peatland Hydrological Unit (KHG). The purpose of this study was to determine land use changes that occurred in the Maluka River KHG - Martapura River. Land use change analysis was conducted using an overlay method from the results of image analysis using satellite imagery data on Google Earth Pro. The on-screen digitization method was used to see land use between 2012 and 2022. The results showed that land use change in the Maluka River - Martapura River KHG in the period 2012 - 2022 with an area of 4,329.90 Ha or 4.8% of the total area of KHG. While 86,410.50 Ha or 95.2% did not experience land use change. The growth of land use for settlements and places of activity has experienced an additional trend, this also occurs in land use for ponds, plantations, mining, ponds, and moor/fields. Meanwhile, there is land subsidence in the forest, mangrove, swamp, rice field, shrub, and open land sectors, which can affect the balance of the ecosystem.

Abstract

The Meratus Dayak people still believe that traditional medicine using medicinal plants can cure diseases and still often use it as needed. This traditional medicine has become extinct because the system of inheritance of knowledge is only through oral without any written records from generation to generation. This has led to a decrease in the number of individuals who have knowledge and skills in traditional medicine, especially in the younger generation who are less interested in learning traditional medicine. The purpose of this study was to analyze the knowledge of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 4 Balangan students on medicinal plants, their use as daily or traditional customs and efforts to preserve traditional medicines in Halong Subdistrict, Balangan District. Students from class X IPA and X IPS at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 4 Balangan have low knowledge about medicinal plants caused by several factors, including curriculum, teaching methods that are less interactive, the influence of parents who have limited knowledge, and modernization make modern medicines easier to obtain. Students have basic knowledge of medicinal plants, but limited to a few common types, there is a desire to expand their knowledge. The application of medicinal plants in everyday life is still low due to lack of practical knowledge and limited access.

Abstract

Kusan Hilir Sub-district is one of the coastal sub-districts in Tanah Bumbu Regency where most of the people work as fishermen.  Fish caught by fishermen that do not have high selling value such as otek fish or manyung fish, and tembang fish or sardinella fish are often thrown into the sea so that they can pollute marine waters. The remaining fish or fish that are wasted have organic value, both organic-N, organic-P, and organic-K. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of using otek fish bokashi, firewood husks, and subsoil soil on the growing power of trambesi plants and determine the best composition of fish bokashi produced based on biomass in plants. The research was carried out using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 6 treatments and 5 replications with 3 plants and placed randomly by doing random numbers in the excel application with the treatment code P0 100% subsoil soil, 0% fish bokashi, 0% burnt husk, P1 subsoil 90%, fish bokashi 5%, burnt husk 5%, P2 subsoil 80%, fish bokashi 10%, burnt husk 10%, P3 subsoil 70%, fish bokashi 15%, burnt husk 15%, P4 subsoil 60%, fish bokashi 20%, burnt husk 20%, and P5 soil 50%, fish bokashi 25%, burnt husk 25%. Data analysis used in this study used the Anova test followed by the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) test. The results of observations or weighing on the wet weight and dry weight of plant biomass show that the treatment with the composition of 50% soil planting media, 25% fish bokashi, 25% burnt husk with an average wet weight of 174.44g and a dry weight of 88.64g has a very significant effect on 90 day trambesi seedlings, although the treatment with the composition of 90% subsoil soil planting media, 5% fish bokashi, 5% burnt husk, and the composition of 80% subsoil soil planting media, 10% fish bokashi, 10% burnt husk is not significantly different.

Abstract

Durian lahung (Durio dulcis) is one of the germplasm of Kalimantan which is becoming rare. One method of propagation with the advantage of obtaining lots of seeds, simultaneously and free from pests is through in vitro technique. One of the obstacles encountered in this process in the laboratory is the use of large amounts of aquades (distilled water), so alternative water is needed with almost the same characteristics so that it does not interfere the growth of explants, namely AC wastewater. The aim of this research is to compare the growth results of Lahung durian explants in a second subculture medium using AC wastewater which is unused waste with distilled water. The experimental design uses the t test by comparing 2 independent populations. The sample consists of a population from subculture result on media with an AC wastewater source and a population on distilled water. Each population consists of 10 replications and each replication consists of 5 bottles, so there are 100 planting bottles. The observations were made on the variables of contamination percentage (%), life percentage (%), browning percentage (%), number of roots, number of shoots, number of leaves, number of plumules, and shoot height. The results of the observations at 6 weeks after subculture showed that the explants from both treatments did not experience contamination, browning, and root growth, and 100% of the explants were alive. Meanwhile, the number of leaves, the number of plumules, shoots, nodes and shoot height were not significantly different between the two treatments.
