Abstract

NEED ASSESSMENT ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS TO ACADEMIC ADVISOR SERVICES IN COLLEGE. The aim of this study is to assess the needs service of Academic Advisory provides guidance for students. Research also aim to found the barriers or obstacles encountered academic adviser in providing academic guidance services. This research use quantitative approach with questionare of Academic Advisory Service, interview the students and Academic Advisory Service, and documentary study. Sample in this research are students of Guidance and Counseling Study Program and lecture who have the task as Academic Advisory in Study Program of Guidance and Counseling. This research found that the Academic Advisory has giving all indicator service based on Statuta of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University and Standar Operational Procedur Academic Advisory Service. But, there are seceral obstacles or constraints faced by the Advisory Academic in the service of student guidance, such as time limitation od Advisory Academic, imbalance in the ratio between the number of Advisory Academid and discipline of students in following the schedule of academic guidance.

Abstract

The aims of the study was to investigate the influence of personality-traits and learning styles on academic performance of University of Cape Coast (UCC) distance learners, taking into consideration the moderating effects of academic self-discipline and academic self-confidence. The correlational research design was adopted. The sample was 805, made up of 10 centre coordinators, 763 level 200 Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) students and 32 course tutors. The stratified sampling procedure that makes use of the random number method of simple random sampling technique was used to select all the respondents. Questionnaire and interview-guide were the instruments used. The quantitative data was analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics, while the qualitative data were analysed manually using the thematic approach. The study revealed that openness to experience traits that students demonstrate contributes more to their likelihood of obtaining high level academic performance. Also, students prefer using read/write and visual learning styles. Furthermore, students’ personality-traits and learning styles have significant influence on students’ academic performance. However, this influence becomes stronger indirectly through the moderating effect of students’ academic self-discipline and self-confidence.

Abstract

CONCEPTUAL COUNSELING: A PHILOSOPHICAL REVIEW. Counseling is a process of giving help done by an expert (called counselor) to the individual who experienced a problem (called counselee) which leads to the overcoming problems facing him. Counseling serves as an effort to change, prevent or increase the potential of life. This literature study contains a description of the counselor's professional concepts in providing counseling services covering the meaning of counseling, counseling parameters, counseling and philosophy, counseling conditions and the effects of the professional counselor as well as the characteristics of a professional counselor which is seen based on the effectiveness of a helper.

Abstract

LEADERSHIP AND TRUST ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT ON THE SCHOOL COUNSELORS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL. The objective of this research is aimed at obtaining the information that related to the effects of leadership, trust and the organizational commitment, of the teacher of junior high school in Pasar Minggu District, South of Jakarta. The method used ia a survey by structured interview with a sample of 22 school counselors of junior high school in Pasar Minggu District, South of Jakarta. The data collected were processed by path analysis. The result proved that the trust was directly affected by leadership. There are direct effects of the leadership on organizational commitment and there are direct effects of the trust on organizational commitment. However, there is an indirect effect of leadership on organizational commitment through trust. The result can be concluded that two factors should be considered in the improvement of the organizational commitment.

Abstract

DEMANDS: COUNSELORS TO BE CREATIVE. Along with the development era of counselor, work demands become increasingly complex. Challenges will be constantly confronted by counselors as a result of the changes taking place. Changes in the work environment of counselors force them to be creative. Counselors should be able to find solutions, find new ways and adapt to changes that occur. So, on the process of education of potential counselors in Indonesia should also encourage the creativity of counselors in the realm of their scope of work. Such efforts need to be integrated with the counselor education curriculum. One of them is developing the SCAMPER Model to help candidate of counselors and professional counselors in Indonesia encourage their creativity.

Abstract

THE ROLE OF COUNSELOR IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF AKHIR ZAMAN HADITH. This literature review addresses the role of the counselor by pressing on a number of common phenomena that occur today. This phenomenon turns out to correspond to a number of “akhir zaman” hadiths. Of course, with this description, you will increasingly realize that the role of counselor is very much needed now to deal with student dynamics. The ‘akhir zaman’ characters in question include: (1) aspects of humanitarian setbacks caused by drugs; (2) the fading of the tradition of family life and social interaction tends to be individualistic, thus requiring solutions to Islamic values ​​and norms themselves but should be structured by involving school components reflected in the school's vision and mission; (3) the choice of social context needs to be formulated in depth which places the teachings of Islam as a whole without compromising the teachings of Islam as a religion of da'wah; and finally, (4) massive relationships that emphasize strong interpersonal relationships between counselors and students and subject teachers.

Abstract

ACCULTURATION OF MUTATIONAL STRESS STUDENTS FROM SCHOOLS OF FOREIGN COUNTRY. The aims of this study was to obtain the results of the research acculturation emphasizes student transfer from overseas schools in the international class XI program of Bosowa Al Azhar Cilegon, Banten High School. The researcher used two research methods namely qualitative method with indept interview, observation and using a questionnaire from the Acculturative Stress Scale for International Students (ASSIS) and open questions as data reinforcement, all students reported stress acculturation. Interestingly, however, responding to open questions asks students to consider themselves to increase pressure related to opposition, feelings of feelings, and academic problems. The question that was asked between interviews, observation, ASSIS and open questions discussed the questions of international class XI students at Bosowa Al Azhar Cilegon, Banten secondary school and drew attention when developing complementary planning for the purposes of the study. The results of this study are that this study is single data, both of these international class students, respectively, use Quartil in calculating the statistics. Quartil is the calculation of statistical data for research in which the data is single, not in groups. The whole correct answer for ASSIS 36-item is 180. Journal of ASY score results is 128 and MKB is 112. Accessible by ASY depends on high category and MKB depends on high category.

Abstract

SELF-STUDENTS DEVELOPMENT BY GUIDANCE AND COUNCELING SERVICE IN HIGH SCHOOL AT BANTEN PROVINCE. Guidance and counseling program organized to support the achievement of the educational objectives of the school as a whole. The based goal is essentially to prepare students through guidance, teaching, and training for their roles in the future. The efforts of self-development especially the high school student are the principal leadership approach to motivated the resources in school the are guidance and counseling teacher performance specifically services to the students and technical facilities as a media to help guidance and counseling teacher directed students to make their decisions. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of principal leadership, teacher performance guidance counseling and a technical facility with self-students development. This research uses descriptive analysis method of correlation with the quantitative approach. Data collection by questionnaires. The sample used purposive sampling at senior high school in Banten province. The results show a relationship principal leadership with self-students development, guidance and counseling teacher performance with self-students development, technical facility with self-students development, the relationship of principal leadership, guidance and counseling teacher performance and technical facilities with self-students development. The effort of self-students development can be improving by principal leadership, guidance, and counseling teacher performance and technical facilities.

Abstract

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PEER COUNSELING TO REDUCE ONLINE GAME ADDICTION IN MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. The ease of using the internet is currently widely used by teenagers to operate online games. Online games are games that can be played together through a network. The high frequency of online game usage results in teens experiencing online game addiction. Friends are people outside the family who can provide comfort for teenagers. Through peer counseling, they hope to be able to exchange ideas and assess which actions are necessary or not to take. The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of peer counseling to reduce online game addiction in students. The method used in this research is experimental research. The design of this study was pre-experimental design. The sampling technique in this study used porposive sampling where the sample was selected by students who were addicted to online games. Based on the sig (2-tailed) value of 0,000 which is <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a difference between the pretest and posttest scores or effective peer counseling to reduce online game addiction in students.

Abstract

THE USING OF ANIMATION FILM IN INFORMATION SERVICE TO IMPROVE PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY OF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS. The use of animated film in information services aims to ensure that massage of information service can be well received by students, and students have good motivation in participating in services. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of film animation in information services to improve the ability to abilty of problem solve students of SMKN 3 Metro in the academic year 2019/2020. The research method used action research. The research subjects were 30 students. The research instrument is a test of problem solving skills. The results of the study were an increase in average achievement scores, in the first cycle the average score of students 'ability to solve problems was 19.5, and the second cycle was 24.19 and the difference in the scores of students' understanding scores in the second cycle with an ideal score of 7.05, in the first cycle the difference between the score with the ideal score is 11.75. Thus an increase between cycles I and II amounted to 4.70. The conclusion of the research is the animation film in information service effective to improve abilty problem solving of students SMKN 3 Metro academic year 2019/2020.
