Abstract

The model of Motivation Book (MOTIBOO) is a literature that focused on the employee motivation, which developed by Borg and Gall, (1983).The purpose of this study is to give more contribution on the field of knowledge of motivation, and gain the practical experience on the employee motivation.This study employeed the methodology that used by Borg and Gall to analysed the motivation. It consisted of four stages : 1) pre research; 2) planning; 3) development, field analysis, model test review and; 4) post research. I picked this model, as the objective of study which analysed the motivation of IBI employees. Closely relates to the method of Borg and Gall, it also gave more flexible measurement to observe the employee attitude to perform their works.This analys resulted the data that MOTIBOO can be used as an alternative method in order to improve the employee motivation in IBI, and it can increase the employee performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the personality and work motivation to influence the normative commitment of the principal. This study used a survey method involving 90 school principals from public high schools in DKI Jakarta. The data obtained were analyzed using the path analysis approach. In conclusion, personality and work motivation have a positive direct effect on normative commitment of school principals. This indicates that the better the personality and the higher the work motivation, the higher the normative commitment of the school principal. Keywords: Personality, Motivation, Normative Commitment.

Abstract

LEADERSHIP AND TRUST ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT ON THE SCHOOL COUNSELORS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL. The objective of this research is aimed at obtaining the information that related to the effects of leadership, trust and the organizational commitment, of the teacher of junior high school in Pasar Minggu District, South of Jakarta. The method used ia a survey by structured interview with a sample of 22 school counselors of junior high school in Pasar Minggu District, South of Jakarta. The data collected were processed by path analysis. The result proved that the trust was directly affected by leadership. There are direct effects of the leadership on organizational commitment and there are direct effects of the trust on organizational commitment. However, there is an indirect effect of leadership on organizational commitment through trust. The result can be concluded that two factors should be considered in the improvement of the organizational commitment.

Abstract

Higher education is one of the important stages in preparing students to enter the world of work. In addition to demanding high academic abilities, the world of work also expects graduates to have qualified soft skills. The purpose of this study is to analyse philosophy education as a means of developing students' soft skills. This research is qualitative in nature. Data collection techniques include listening and recording important information to conduct data analysis through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that innovative and creative philosophy teaching can motivate students, while students' needs and interests need to be considered in teaching. Lecturers have an important role in guiding and facilitating discussions and debates in class, so that students can develop critical thinking skills, good argumentation, public speaking, empathy, and cooperation.

Abstract

In the contemporary technological era, the significance of marketing for educational institutions has experienced a significant surge. The effective execution of marketing tactics can aid in the recruitment of prospective students and concurrently elevate the standing of the institution. Marketing initiatives should be carried out prudently and in accordance with the technological progressions that occur. The objective of this study is to furnish insights for early childhood education institutions in formulating efficacious marketing tactics that align with contemporary demands. The primary emphasis of this investigation is on qualitative analysis. Methods for gathering information include paying close attention and taking detailed notes, with subsequent analysis including data reduction, visualisation, and conclusions. The results of this study show that to develop marketing strategies in the digital era, schools need to consider factors such as market characteristics and needs, the use of social media and online platforms, data security, the quality of educators, and the needs of students. Therefore, they should consider the needs and characteristics of the market and develop educational content that is relevant and appealing to prospective students and parents, which implies that by optimising technology and online platforms and considering the needs and characteristics of the market, schools can improve the reputation and quality of education offered and help increase parental and community involvement in promoting education.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of organizational commitment and job satisfaction on high school principals’ affective commitment. The research employed a quantitative survey. The samples researched were 90 senior high school principals in Jakarta. The data were collected through a series of questionnaires. The data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and path analysis. The results indicated that: 1) organizational commitment gave a positive direct effect on the principals’ affective commitment; 2) job satisfaction gave a significant direct effect on the principals’ job satisfaction, and 3) organizational commitment gave a positive direct effect on the principals’ job satisfaction. The present research implies that the provincial education board is strongly suggested to keep performing fair procedural justice prescribed by regulations to maintain the principals working satisfactorily and feeling attached to their schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness of classroom management and teacher intervention in reducing students' anxiety levels at school. The researcher used a qualitative research method with descriptive research. The steps in this research were to collect information or collect classification data, and then perform data analysis, interpretation, and make conclusions and reports. The research was carried out from January 13 to February 14, 2023. The results of the research the researchers conducted showed that anxiety in students can be reduced through good classroom management in several ways, namely through preventive efforts by motivating students to concentrate on lessons and conditioning students to be ready to learn in class; readiness to learn greatly determines student learning activities. Besides these preventive efforts to reduce student anxiety in class in a curative way, this method requires the role of the guidance and counseling teacher by providing counseling to students who have high anxiety using systematic desensitization techniques.

Abstract

Library, as a place holding pivotal roles to support instructions at schools, should be led by a competent and qualified leader. The present research is purposefully conducted to assess the training program intended for school library leader candidates. Qualitative method was employed by the implementation of CIPP (Context, Input, Process and Product) model. The data were collected through observations, interviews and document analysis. Snowball sampling technique was utilized to choose the research participants. The participants involved in this research were the head of assurance council, the head of training program, and the training partners. The present research indicates the following findings. Generally, the training is regarded as successfully implemented. To be more specific, 1) context evaluation assesses legal standing, objectives, and target of the training; 2) input evaluation assesses resource of the training; 3) process evaluation assesses trainee recruitment, teaching and learning process, and monitoring-evaluation of the training; and 4) product evaluation assesses cognitive, affective and skill domain of the trainees. The present research implies program segmentation for each level of education due to different problems encountered in reality. Training resource aspect also needs special attention.

Abstract

Education is one of the main pillars in a country's development, given its important role in shaping a competent and competitive young generation. In today's digital and information technology era, the role of technology in education is increasingly important to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process and overall education management. The purpose of this study is to examine more deeply the role of ChatGPT in improving the efficiency of the education management process. This research is a literature review that uses a qualitative method approach, which means it will analyse and interpret data by relying on information and text from various sources. The research found that ChatGPT's role in improving the efficiency of the education management process is significant. This technology has opened the door for a positive transformation in the way education is managed, taught and run. By providing instant information, assistance in learning, and support in communication, ChatGPT can enrich the educational experience of students, teachers, parents, and administrative staff.

Abstract

Affective commitment is ultimately carried out by a leader in an organization, including in high schools. This study mainly aims to examine the influence of personality and job satisfaction on the affective commitment of high school principals mediated by motivation. A quantitative survey was employed in this study. The sample studied was 90 public high school principals in Jakarta, Indonesia. The data were collected through a questionnaire, which has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results showed a significant relationship between the public school principals’ personality and job satisfaction on their affective commitment which is mediated by motivation. In more detail, the results indicated: i) a positive direct effect of personality on affective commitment, personality on motivation, and job satisfaction on the motivation of public school principals; ii) no significant direct effect of job satisfaction on affective commitment; and iii) a mediating role of motivation, that directs to a positive and significant influence on personality, job satisfaction, and principals’ affective commitment. The study’s implications for related authorities are presented.
