Abstract

Community service activities with the title: Utilization of Plastic Waste into Fuel Oil in Namo Bintang Village Deli Serdang Regency was planned in May to November 2019.This activity aim was to convert plastic waste into fuel which has economic value and is environmentally friendly. Community services implementation was by counselling, lectures, explanations of theories and techniques for processing plastic waste which was followed by the Namo Bintang Village Scavenger group, they listened and training to the material delivered by the community service team. Equipment for waste utilization is also very simple hence community groups can make it by themselves. Finally, monitoring and evaluation of the success of work in the field will be carried out by going directly to the field together, monitoring by visiting to find out whether the community can do it themselves.In addition, contact will be made by telephone to overcome the problems that arise.In general, community service activities have been successfully carried out and seen a good cooperative relationship between the Higher Education, especially the Implementation Team, and the community in Namo Bintang Village. Villagers realize the importance of saving the environment and at the same time improving their lives because they can make their fuel.

Abstract

The Indonesian Malay Customary Community (MABMI) is one of the Malay communities in Indonesia, and one of them is located in the city of Binjai, North Sumatra. This organization has many members and is active in carrying out various activities. Members of MABMI in Binjai, who are mostly mothers and elderly (over 60 years old), often complain that they often experience health problems, especially joint pain or muscle pain, which sometimes interfere with their daily life activities. The number of MABMI members in Binjai city who work as housewives, so it is very potential if you want to do entrepreneurial activities at each home so that it can help in improving the family economy. This community service is useful in providing one of the solutions and alternatives for mothers to solve joint health problems that they often experience by providing education and training to make anti-pain balm so that the hope can be used alone if needed. In addition, the team also tried to provide stimulation for mothers who want to do business by developing this anti-pain balm preparation. Education about health products that are safe to use and further information about joint and muscle pain will also be provided by the service team.

Abstract

Abstract

Community service activities with the title of The Utilization of Organic Waste into Fermented Goat Fodder in Tanjung Rejo Village, Deli Serdang Regency will be held in May - November 2019.The purpose of this community service is to utilize organic waste into fermented goat fodder in Tanjung Rejo village.Organic waste such as straw, banana tree and others can be converted into fermented goat fodder which is economical, nutritious and environmentally friendly.The specific target of this community service is that the fermented goat fodder produced can be stored for a long time with good quality.The method used is a combination of counselling, training, hands-on practice and work evaluation.The procedures of making fermented goat fodder are as follows; (1) Chop straw or banana tree using a chopper machine, this stage serves to make the fermentation process easier. (2) Prepare the place of manufacture, can use tarpaulins, large plastic or large barrels (3). Dissolve sugar or sugar cane with water plus SOC-HCS probiotic solution. (4) Enter the straw, husk and bran at the place of preparation that has been prepared previously. (5) Flush all materials that have been arranged evenly in the place of manufacture with a solution of sugar and SOC-HCS that had been dissolved with water. (6) Mix all ingredients evenly. (7) After everything has been stirred evenly, then cover the place of manufacture with a tarp or with anything, make sure to be airtight. (8) Wait for 1 - 14 days. The fermented fodder that you have made from straw will be ready or if the fermentation feed is made using a banana tree, it can be faster.All products produced can be used for their own needs or sold according to the needs of the people of Tanjung Rejo village, especially the Tanjung Rejo goat breeders group.

Abstract

Health problems in the elderly begins with the process of deterioration of body cells, which causes a decrease in function and immune system so that it can increase risk factors for disease. Some diseases that are often experienced by the elderly include, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, rheumatism, gout, hearing loss, vision problems, osteoporosis, and others. These conditions will have an impact on increasing morbidity and mortality, declining quality of life, and increasing health financing. The method of implementing community service activities is carried out by educating health issues, providing guidance, counseling and mentoring to 20 elderly groups. The purpose of community service activities is to increase health care efforts which are expected to implement programs to create or improve the ability to live healthy in the community both individuals and groups to be able to solve various problems related to health improvement and disease prevention on an ongoing basis. Education is carried out with health education about general elderly diseases that often occur, namely Diabetes and Gout, then conduct guidance and counseling by dividing into groups, and provide assistance by teaching foot exercises and foot care. Results The implementation of community service activities shows the results that Good Knowledge about degenerative diseases (85.0%), after the mentoring activities namely guidance, counseling, foot gymnastics simulation and foot care. Paired t-test results before and after the assistance was given p value of 0.007. It is expected that the elderly group can be independent in efforts to prevent degenerative diseases that are focused on diabetes mellitus

Abstract

The community service activities with the title "The Utilization of Bunker Eggs into Duck Feed in Tanjung Rejo Village, Deli Serdang Regency" will be held in May - November 2019. This activity aim is to convert bunker eggs (eggs that failed to hatch) into duck feed which has economic value and is environmentally friendly. The method used is counselling, lectures and training as well as monitoring and evaluation with the community directly to the field.The stages of duck feed production include; (1) choosing a bunker egg (2) egg waste is put into cormorant and boiled for approximately 1 hour, (3) cut water hyacinth/kale, (4) rice bran and water hyacinth/kale steamed into cormorant II which has been filled with water for approximately more than 1 hour, (5) bunker eggs, rice bran, and water hyacinth/kale are removed and drained in large containers and sacks, (6) bunker eggs are mashed without peeling the skin, (7) mixed all ingredients (endhog bunker, bran, kale) by adding enough water and stir until evenly distributed, (8) milling the mixture of materials using a special grinding to form feed, and (9) finishing includes the drying process using an oven/stove. Egg bunkers can be converted into animal feed

Abstract

As implementation of Tri Dharma is a Community Services. This activity is carried out directly in the field by involving the public and university lecturers together in an effort to overcome the practical application of science in a comprehensive community issues. This community service focused on the in-depth problems of Islamic studies at the Serikat Amal Baik mosque in Kelurahan Sei Kera Hilir I, precisely on Jalan Ibrahim Umar Gg. Nikmat No. 7, Medan city. Working together with the partner Badan Kemakmuran Masjid (BKM) and teachers at SDIT Zahira school, conduct “Rumah Islami” studies and perform continued of comfort supporting infrastructure improvement activities as part of the worship of Islam by Zahira SDIT teachers joining together the surrounding communities. This community service activities that have been carried out concluded that the targets and outcomes achieved by seeing the enthusiasm of the participants in the Islamic spiritual education development framework on an ongoing basis.
