Abstract

AbstractThis research was instigated by the implementation of chemistry learning that needed student-centered learning interactions by implementing Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) types of cooperative learning.  This research aimed at knowing the difference on learning achievement between students taught by using STAD model and those who were taught by using NHT model on Salt Hydrolysis lesson.  The eleventh-grade students of Natural Science at State Senior High School 1 Pasir Penyu in the Academic Year of 2018/2019 were the population of this research.  Purposive sampling technique was used in this research, and there were 33 students as the samples in experiment 1 and experiment 2 groups.  The research findings showed that the increase of learning achievement of students taught by using STAD model was 18.06, and the mean increase of learning achievement of students taught by using NHT model was 14.60.  Besides, based on the statistical analysis, it was obtained that there was a difference on learning achievement between students taught by using STAD model and those who were taught by using NHT model on Salt Hydrolysis lessonat State Senior High School 1 Pasir Penyu, tobserved was higher than ttable (2.063>1.997) and the score of sig was lower than 0.05, so H0 was rejected..Keywords: NHT, Salt Hydrolysis, STAD

Abstract

Abstract. This research is based on existing problems, namely the absence of teaching materials that can support the implementation of the practicum and plus the learning process carried out during the covid-19 pandemic is learning at home or also called online learning, where students are instructed to study at home with use cell phone. This causes students to have difficulty understanding some chemical concepts. The purpose of this research is to produce a chemistry practicum manual based on learning cycle 5E for class XI SMAN 1 X Koto Diatas that can be used by students in carrying out practical activities at school and at home. This study uses a type of development research using a 4-D development model. The results showed that the validity of this 5E learning cycle-based chemistry practicum manual obtained a percentage of 96.00% with very valid criteria and the practicality results of this 5E learning cycle-based chemistry practicum manual obtained a percentage of 86.60% with very practical criteria. With this, it can be concluded that the chemistry practicum manual based on the 5E learning cycle that is designed is valid and can be used in the process of implementing the practicum.Keywords: Practicum Manual, Learning Cycle 5E, Validity and Practicality

Abstract

Abstract. The main problem in this study is related to the lack of creativity of educators in using learning media, especially in the manufacture and development of media in the learning process. Where the media used by educators during the learning process does not attract students' interest in learning so that it affects the learning outcomes of these students. Thus, it is necessary to have a learning media that can be used by educators and students, namely in the form of learning media using STEM-based Lectora Inspire Software. The purpose of this study is to determine the learning media using STEM-based Lectora Inspire on valid and practical thermochemical material. The type of research used is research and development (Research and Development) with a 4D design model. This research consists of four stages, namely: define, design, development and disseminate stage. However, this research was only carried out until the development stage due to the limited time required Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the product in the form of learning media using STEM-based Lectora Inspire that was developed was valid and practical. The results of product validity obtained a percentage of 98.8% with very valid criteria, and the percentage of practicality through student response questionnaires obtained a percentage of 73.1% with practical criteria. Abstract

ABSTRACT The concepts of hydrolysis and buffer solutions have abstracts related to pH. This concept plays a role in the processes that occur in our bodies and in everyday life. Learning hydrolysis and solution materials requires experiments or practicum, the implementation of practicum is very dependent on the existence and completeness of the laboratory. With advances in technology in the field of ICT, there are many programs available that can be used to design ICT-based practicums (virtual labs). Virtual laboratory can overcome the limitations of laboratories, tools and materials, time and can save costs.This development research aims to determine the feasibility (theoretical and practical) of the developed virtual laboratory for hydrolysis material and buffer solutions. The virtual laboratory for hydrolysis and buffer solutions was developed using the Adobe Flash6 Professional program.This type of research is development research. The product developed is a virtual laboratory using the Adobe Flash6 Professional program for hydrolysis and Basic Chemistry II buffering materials in chemistry education study programs. This virtual laboratory development research uses the ADDIE model.The results of material validation and virtual laboratory media for hydrolysis and buffer solutions were 91% (very good) and 90% (very good). Abstract

Most of the learning materials used by teachers are not integrated with higher order thinking skills (HOTS). This research aims to develop a Chemistry module Integrated with HOTS in Reaction Rate Materials that is valid and practical. This research is used the development research method (Research and Development) that included defining, designing, and developing stage. The data were collected by validity sheets and practicality questionnaire sheets. Validity sheets were completed by 2 chemistry lecturers and 1 chemistry teacher. Practicality questionnaire sheets were completed by 21 grade XI students in SMAN 1 Sungayang. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative method. The result of this research are: 1) the validity of the module is categorized as very valid (97,5%), 2) the practicality of the module is categorize as very practical (91,2%). The results of this study indicate that the chemistry module developed can be used as a learning materials for students. Keywords: module, HOTS, development

Abstract

ABSTRACT Research is based on existing problems, namely the lack of availability of practical tools and materials at school so that the practicum is carried out less than the maximum and also the lack of availability of teaching materials for practicum the. The purpose of this research is to make students understand the learning material through the practicum carried out, which is related to directly with everyday life and produce practical handouts chemoenterpreneurship-based chemistry on buffer solution materials, hydrolysis salt and colloid for SMA class XI. This research uses the type of development research with using a development model that is 4-D which consists of 4 stages, namely, define (definition), design (design), develop (development) and disseminate (spread). However, this research is only limited to the third. The results showed that the validation of chemical handouts based on chemoenterpreneurship on buffer solution materials, salt hydrolysis and class XI colloids that have been designed to be valid obtain an average percentage of 75% and the practical results are very practical, obtaining an average percentage of 85% There are two practicalities, namely the practicality of teachers and students. With this can concluded that the designed practicall handout is valid and can be used in the practical implementation process.Keywords: Handout, Chemoenterpreneurship

Abstract

This research was instigated by student difficulty in comprehending abstract chemistry lessons, so it was needed an instructional media that could visualize the abstract chemistry to the students. This research aimed at designing scientific literacy-based chemistry instructional media, then validating and testing would be done.  In this research, chemistry instructional media was designed by using Macromedia Flash 8 software to support the study on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte lesson.  The final product result was in the form of a valid instructional media.  It was a Research and Development (R&D) with Borg and Gall modified model and it was administered at State Senior High School 5 Pekanbaru.  Interview, library study, and questionnaire were the techniques of collecting the data.  Scientific literacy-based Macromedia Flash 8 that was developed was tested, it was valid with 86.31% percentage (very valid) and practical with 92% percentage (very practical).  It got good responses of all media contents with 30% percentage (very good) and 60% percentage (good).  Based on these findings, it could be concluded that scientific literacy-based chemistry instructional media using Macromedia Flash 8 on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte lesson was valid, practical, and able to get good responses from students, so it could be experimented at the next stage.

Abstract

The average of students and teachers at Islamic Senior High School of Nurul Hidayah Sungai Salak already have Android. However, students tended to use Android just as the communication, entertainment, and social media tools.   Even though, it could be used to support them in the learning process, namely applicative learning media. The solution for students’ Android can be utilized optimally by designing an E-Learning learning media in the form of a Blog on priodic system of elements lesson. This research aimed at knowing the levels of validity, practicality, and student response to Blog based E-Learning learning media on Periodic System of the Elements lesson that was developed. It was a Research and Development (R&D) with Borg and Gall development model that 10 steps were reduced to 5. The subjects of this research were a material expertlecturer, a media expert lecturer, a Chemistry subject teacher, and 10 the tenth-grade students atIslamic Senior High School of Nurul Hidayah Sungai Salak. The research findings showed that the levels of validity and practicality of Blog based E-Learning learning media were stated very valid and very practical with the assessment percentages bya material expert, a media expert, and a Chemistry subject teacher continuously 100%, 96%, and 100%. The result of student response overall to Blog based E-Learning learning mediadeveloped was very good. Therefore, it was very peasible to be used as a learning media at school, so that, it would had a positive impact and optimalize the use of Android by student.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to produce a Guided Inquiry-Based E-LKPD using the adobe acrobat 11 pro extended application on the chemical equilibrium material developed which is already valid based on aspects of content feasibility, pedagogics, characteristics of the guided inquiry model, language and graphic aspects. The type of research used is research and development using the ADDIE model. The results of material validation from each aspect are as follows, the content feasibility aspect is 92.18%, the pedagogic aspect is 90%, the characteristic aspect of the guided inquiry learning model is 87.5%, the language aspect is 90.62% and the graphic aspect is 93.75% with valid category. The results of media validation from each aspect are as follows, the size aspect of the E-LKPD is 93.75%, the cover design aspect of the E-LKPD is 90.62% and the content design of the E-LKPD is 93.18%. The results of the one-on-one test analysis show that students with high, medium and low abilities have a fast to long time span according to their abilities. The results of the teacher's response obtained a value of 93.55% with attractiveness 95.83%, effectiveness 93.18% and practicality 91.66% with good criteria. Student responses obtained a value of 91.5% with an attractiveness of 92.12% and an ease of 90.75% with good criteria.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This result aimed at developing a learning media design in the form of Science Technology Society (STS) based Chemistry Weblog learning media in supporting student scientific literacy on Crude Oil lesson. It was Research and Development (R&D) with Borg and Gall model that was limited to the fifth stage. The stages were collecting preliminary data, planning, developing the product, testing the product, and revising. The product of this research was validated by the experts of learning media and material, its practicality was tested Chemistry subject teachers, and student response was also tested at State Senior High School 1 Kampar. STS based Chemistry Weblog learning media in supporting student scientific literacy on Crude Oil lesson was stated proper based on the research findings. It was obtained that the assessment percentages of validation were 92.5% by the experts of material and 93.33% by the experts of media, and the assessment criteria were very valid. The assessment percentage on teacher practicality test was 93.33% with very practical assessment criterion, student response test was 80% and students supposed that the weblog was interesting. It was needed a further research to test the effectiveness of the product.
