Abstract

The study focused on investigating the teaching strategy used by an English teacher in teaching Elementary students through online learning. Teaching young learners needs creativity to keep the students active and enthusiastic about learning. Especially the condition required to conduct online learning. Teachers should keep the students motivated and understand the material easily. This study also elaborated on the challenges that the teacher faced during online learning. A qualitative method was used in this study. The data collection techniques are observation and interview. The data was gained from an elementary school in Surabaya. The observation was held in the first grade for twelve meetings. The result showed that the teacher used two learning models during online learning. It was synchronous and asynchronous learning. In synchronous learning, the teacher used Listen and Repeat, Listen and Do, Short Conversation, Question and Answer, Quiz and Sing and Move. Meanwhile, in Asynchronous learning, the teacher used three strategies. They were Role play, Daily Tests, and Video Blogs (Vlogs). Moreover, the teacher also admitted that she faced challenges during teaching through online learning. The challenges came from the teacher herself, the students, and the parents.

Abstract

YouTube can be a preferable media for effective and engaging English learning. This survey research was conducted to investigate the students’ perceptions on the use of YouTube to learn English post-pandemic. The participants were 88 second-grade students in one of the public junior high schools in Batu. The data were taken by administering the questionnaire directly to the students. The findings revealed that YouTube was effective, attractive, and motivating to help the students learn English post-pandemic in the classroom. Thus, it is recommended that English teachers teach English by means of YouTube in their class. Moreover, it is also suggested that future researchers investigate whether the students’ perceptions on the use of YouTube will differ across their learning styles

Abstract

Implementation of physical education and early childhood sports is an integral part of overall education that contributes to individual development through physical activity of natural human movement. Physical education is a planned and designed sequence of learning experiences to meet the developmental and growth, and behavioral needs of each child. Physical education starts from an early age to stimulate growth. The purpose of this study was to find out the implementation of physical education and sports for early childhood in PAUD schools in the city of Palopo in 2022. This study used a survey method with a qualitative descriptive analysis approach. The sample is PAUD teachers in the city of Palopo with a total of 60 people taken by random sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of physical education and sports for early childhood at PAUD schools in Palopo City has been carried out properly

Abstract

The skill of Sepak sila is one of the basic techniques in the game of takraw. The focus of this research is extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Palopo. The problem is the lack of variation in pair training. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not there is an impact of variations in pair training on the sepak sila skills of the takraw extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Palopo. The term "quantitative research using experimental methods" refers to a method for determining, under controlled conditions, how one treatment affects another treatment. In SMA Negeri 1 Palopo there are 25 male students who take part in takraw extracurricular activities. Purposive sampling was used as a sampling method, meaning that each student will be included in the research sample based on the special considerations of the researcher. SPSS application program version 23 is used for data analysis methods. With a t = count 22.733, this value is greater than t = table 2.059 or t = count 22.733 > t = table 2.059, and the result is sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. The results showed that there were variations in pair training for students' sepak sila skills in the extracurricular sepak takraw at SMA Negeri 1 Palopo. This shows that variations in pair training have a significant effect on the sepak sila skills of the takraw extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Palopo. 059 or t = count 22.733 > t = table 2.059, and the result is sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. The results showed that there were variations in pair training for students' sepak sila in the extracurricular sepak takraw at SMA Negeri 1 Palopo.

Abstract

Assessing academic writing performance is a critical aspect of educational practices. The thesis is derived from writing is an essential skill that students need to develop to succeed academically and professionally. To fulfill this, the Rasch model offers important test statistics that play a crucial role in constructing tests related to evaluation and item selection problems, as well as in decision-making regarding the generated test scores. Building upon this narrative, this research is conducted with the aim of identifying person fit in assessing academic writing performance using the Rasch model. The sample in the form of essays was obtained from a group of 40 students who had previously undergone a six-month academic writing program. The data was then analyzed using Ministep 4.8.2.0 built for Rasch Model analysis. The analysis results indicated that there were 31 students in the person misfit category, suggesting a need to reconsider the appropriateness of the conducted treatment and whether there were other factors contributing to it. Additionally, a discrepancy was found in 5 students with persons misfit or overfit, and their better performance was observed on more difficult items, contrary to the Rasch model's profile

Abstract

Passing down is very important to earn points, passing movement is done when receiving services and smashes from the enemy, passing that is not effective can result in defeat the team team. The purpose of this research is to improve the basic movement of passing under the volleyball game. This study used a quantitative method experimentally with a one-group pre test and post test design. In conclusion, the average results of the analysis of the downward passing motion using the resistance band tools, the pretest results get an average value of 16.75 and the posttest results get an average value of 26.33. The average value of the posttest is higher than the average value of the pretest, meaning that there is a contribution by the resistance band tool to the basic movement of passing down

Abstract

Trail running sports are carried out in the mountains or outdoors which have tracks in the form of paths, in the form of earthen stones or mixed with sand and small rocks. Indonesia, especially the Province of Central Sulawesi, has adequate facilities to develop a type of trail running sport. The purpose of this study was to find out how good the physical condition of the trail running athletes in Central Sulawesi Province was in preparation for the 2023 PrePON. The sample in this study was 15 trail running athletes in Central Sulawesi Province. Data collection techniques using tests and measurements. The instruments used in measuring physical conditions in this study were 1) speed (30m run), 2) strength (leg dynamometer), 3) strength (push dynamometer), 4) explosive power (vertical jump), 5) flexibility (sit and reaches), 6) Agility (4x10m shuttle run) 7) Endurance (1600m run). The results showed that there were 0 athletes or 0% in the Very Good category, there were 8 athletes or 53.3% in the Good category, there were 7 or 46.7% in the Moderate category, there were 0 athletes or 0% in the Poor category and there were 0 athletes or 0% in the Less Once category. So it can be concluded that the physical condition of the trail running athletes in Central Sulawesi Province is in the Good category

Abstract

English language instruction in Indonesia has been impacted by the shift to online learning. One of the popular online learning platforms in the country is Ruangguru. Students can access its English learning resources anytime and anyplace. The purpose of this study is to investigate how Indonesian high school students view Ruangguru as an online resource for studying English. Data from the students who utilize Ruangguru was gathered via a questionnaire and facilitatied interviews. A mixed-methods approach was used to analyze the data, combining qualitative analysis with descriptive statistics. The findings show that Ruangguru is well-liked by online English learners, particularly because its videos provide straightforward instructions that can inspire the students to become independent learners. However, some students continue to have issues with the limitations imposed by online learning and digital gap. Regardless, the majority of students consider Ruangguru to be a valuable English learning source in the age of online education

Abstract

One aspect that affects the activities of the learning process is the teacher, so that in order for the learning process to run well, the teacher must understand the material before it is delivered to students and know exactly the knowledge that students have at the beginning before attending the lesson. This study aims to determine the relationship between the education system and education management and educators with education management. The method of writing this scientific article is qualitative and literature study or Library Research. Reviewing literature books by the theory discussed, especially in Education Management, analyzing reputable scientific papers and essays from non-reputable journals. In qualitative research, a literature review must be used consistently with methodological assumptions. The result of this study is that the education system affects the administration/management of education. If the education management system is implemented, education will be better. Furthermore, educators have an important role in implementing education management so that education management develops even more.

Abstract

Online games use multimedia that is made as attractive as possible so that players get batik satisfaction and use internet access. So online games can have an impact on student learning motivation. This study aims to determine and analyze online games' influence on student learning motivation at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Waru, Sidoarjo Regency. The type of research used is quantitative. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and documentation of students. The results of research that has been conducted show 1) Online games affect learning motivation in students; 2) The application of a comprehensive technology learning process is one alternative strategy to deal with students who have online game addiction; 3) Based on the results of research on children, it can be seen that a) children spend 15% of the time playing the Internet for 30 minutes, then increase by 25% for 2 to 3 hours in one day; b) 60% of children play the Internet for 5 hours per day or more than 5 hours during school holidays. Based on the findings of a simple linear regression test, it was found that the r-count has a significance level of 5%, which is 0.703 > 0.444, and the r-count > the r-table. Thus, Ha believes that online games influence grade students' motivation to learn at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Waru Kabupateln Sidolarjol is acceptable. Hypothesis tests show a significant effect of educational online games on learning motivation in grade 3, 4, and 5 students of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Waru.
