Abstract

Currently, education management in Indonesia recognizes two mechanisms, namely centralization and decentralization system, in the centralized system of education administration regulated by the central government. This study aims to find out how the implementation of School Based Management (SBM) in KHM NUR Junior High School Surabaya, knowing what programs are implemented in KHM NUR Junior high School Surabaya and aims to determine what factors that support and hinder the implementation of School Based Management (SBM) in an effort to improve the quality of education at KHM NUR Junior High School Surabaya. The type of research used in this study is Field Research, which is studying intensively about the background of the present state, in the interaction of a social, individual, group, institution, and society. Technique of data analysis used qualitative descriptive. The findings of this study can be concluded; first: Implementation of School Based Management (SBM) at KHM. NUR Junior High School Surabaya has been well scheduled. Second: The programs that have been implemented as the implementation of School Based Management (SBM) in KHM. NUR Junior High School Surabaya in academic and non-academic field. Third: Supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of School Based Management (SBM) in KHM. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the role of teacher to student's morality education, the strategy of Al - Islam teacher to improve student morality, the supporting factors and inhibitors in building student's morality of 9 grade student in SMP Muhammadiyah 15 Surabaya. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research data were collected by using observation, interview and documentation method, then analyzed by using inductive approach and validity test. The results indicated that: activities of moral formation that teachers do i.e. night prayer, tahfidz Qur'an, and dzuhur praying in congregation. Teaching strategies of PAI Teacher used inquiry strategies, approached to student by using a variety of methods such as lecturing method, habituation method, and counseling method. The supporting factors: (a) family factors or parent who has very active role to participate in fostering student's morality, (b) environment or community around the school, (c) the environment around student's residence has been thick with religious thing, (d) school’s rules to prevent student's delinquency. Inhibiting Factors are (a) there was no enough time to foster much morality on student. (b) Lack of school's provision. (c) Different student's attitude and behavior. (d) Uncontrollable student association. (e) Lack of students’ awareness to attend activities required by the school. (f) Inadequate supporting facilities and infrastructures. Abstract

Abstract : Criminal case done by Indonesian children has increased that showed how important character education. In building character values, a school is needed to have an activity program. SMPIT Ar Rayyan has Tahfidzul Qur’an program in character education. This study aimed to discuss how character education is implemented through teaching in SMPIT Ar Rayyan Surabaya, and how Tahfidzul Qur’an teaching has done in SMPIT Ar Rayyan Surabaya, and what character values are growths through Tahfidzul Qur’an teaching in SMPIT Ar Rayyan Surabaya.  The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. In this study, data collection technique used three methods i.e. interview, observation, and documentation. According to study result in SMPIT Ar Rayyan Surabaya, it was found that character education has been well enough implemented in teaching Tahfidzul Qur’an, viz. it was from teaching stages, the teaching method, and the teaching evaluation. Tahfidzul Qur’an teaching implemented in SMPIT Ar-Rayyan used tasmi’ and mura ja’ah methods. Abstract

This study aims to find out and explore how does the headmaster implement it? what is the obstacle facing him? what strategy is done? This research uses four approaches that are pedagogies, sociological, juridical and psychological. The sources of the data are primary and secondary. The instruments are interviews, observation guides, check list observation, and documentation. The research techniques are data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusions. From the results of the research of school-based management in SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Gempol, it can be concluded: The headmaster has implemented school-based management but the implementation has not fully implement school-based management. The headmaster as a leader using School Based Management still needs improvement and improvement of teacher quality and good cooperation with school partners. Constraints faced a) Lack of educational facilities and infrastructure b) lack of teacher competency c) lack of parental support of learning process, d) lack of intensive and maximal socialization, e) lack of master of technology. Strategies undertaken in implementing school-based management ie a) doing relationship with relevant agencies to provide the facilities and the infrastructure b) improving teacher competence by involving teachers in trainings c) doing relationship with parents to improve the quality of education. The implications of this research is expected for the headmasters and teachers to always perform their duties and functions respectively each other. To the teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Gempol, to always strive to improve the professionalism of work for the quality of school education in particular and in general can be better. Abstract

Abstract: The Islamic boarding (Pesantren) education curriculum is a tool to achieve the objectives of Islamic Education. Decreasing of students' morallity, equal learning opportunities, low internal efficiency of the education system, institutional status, management of education that is not in line with national development, and unprofessional human resources. The problem faced by pesantren in this era is the narrowing of the curriculum which study of the sciences only grammatically such as: nahwu-sharaf, fiqh, aqa'id, tasawuf, tafsir, hadith, and Arabic. In this context, education curriculum in Pesantren needs to be reformulated including its vision and objectives as well as develop the curriculum. The application of the curriculum in Pesantren needs to be checked and balanced including the balance of classical Islamic repertoire, Islamic knowledge, and general knowledge. Santri (students in Islamic boarding school) can study these sciences not only grammatically, but how to master the sciences verbally or text. So, products (santri) are not only as consumers but producers. Thus, this article is intended to explore Nurcholis Madjid’s concept of the education curriculum in pesantren. Meanwhile, the reason why this thesis is only focused on studying the concept of a e certain figure is because Nurcholis Madjid is a prominent Indonesian Islamic intellectualist who is credible to investigate the reality of the world of education in pesantren. Keywords: Curriculum and Education, Pesantren (Islamic Boarding Schools)

Abstract

The manuscripts of Qur'an that are scattered around us are divided into 2 types  i.e. Indonesian standard manuscripts and the Middle East or Madinah standard, the development of these two manuscripts is not balanced with the refining of teaching materials or the Qur'anic learning method, 90% of the methods refer to Indonesian standard manuscripts and the rest refer to Mushaf Madinah. This challenge was answered by the Griya Al-Qur’an to provide a method that refers to the Mushaf Madinah which has been running for 7 years and has printed 14,000 books that should have been revised as soon as the input from the user (asatizah). The three problems became the study of this thesis. First, how to describe the learning of the Qur'an? Second, how to develop teaching material? And third what is the effectiveness of teaching materials?. This study used an R & D approach or in practice mixed between qualitative and quantitative, qualitative to measure the depth of the material as well as quantitatively to measure validity and effectiveness of teaching materials. The results of the study were as follows: First, the Qur'an Learning should pay attention to 7 components of learning namely goals, material, students, teachers, methods, tools and assessment systems. Second, to develope this teaching material, the ADDIE stage was analyzed, the results of which were revised focus on adding volume 1 and changing the paper size, designed by making a re-design of the material based on the analysis results and preparing the Mushaf Madinah printing software with the Usmani hafs V09 font, Development by implementing what has been designed and invited material experts and instructional media experts to test validity with the results of the experts' values of 80% and 76%, respectively, which meant valid. The third was to measure effectiveness through the implementation stage by conducting a trial with the pretest result of 33% and posttest of 79% which meant that this teaching material was effective and ended with evaluation by evaluating each stage of development. Keywords: Teaching materias Development , Griya Al-Qur’an, Qur'an Learning

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the Professionalism of Islamic Religious Education teacher in State Senior High School 17 Surabaya in improving the students’ learning quality. As well as improving the students’ learning quality in State Senior High School 17 Surabaya. The method used in this research is analytical descriptive research that is a research that aims to give a picture of reality on object that is studied objectively. The source of the research data obtained from observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. This research took place from December 15, 2017 to February 15, 2018. Research proved that the professionalism of Islamic Religious Education teacher in State Senior High School 17 Surabaya is good enough. Professional teachers are teachers who can be mature, able to control themselves, not easily carried away emotions. Be objective, teachers who have academic qualifications in accordance with their field of Bachelor of Islamic Religious Education, have four competencies (pedagogic competence, knowledge, personality and social competence). Abstract

This research aims to reveal the thoughts possessed  by the kyais and ustadz in Pesantren al-Mukmin on the tauẖîd education, and their implementation. The method used in this reseach was qualitative. The results of this research are as follows. Firstly, tauẖîd is given  a special attention since the main aim of education in the pesantren al-Mukmin Ngruki is to produce  a muslim generation with pure tauẖîd coloring all their lives. KH. Wahyudin and ustadz Abdurrahim Ba’asyir Lc understand tauẖîd in line with Ibnu Taimiyah and Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab. Secondly, Tauẖîd education in Pesantren al-Mukmin Ngruki using three methods of education; the doctrine of tauẖîd values, understanding, and practice. Meanwhile the learning of tauẖîd in the Pesantren al-Mukmin Ngruki more adopted the concept of tauẖîd proposed by Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab and Ibn Taimiyah since the books studied in the ẖalaqah program are written by Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab, while those studied in the learning of tauẖîd in the class are written by Dr. Shalih Fauzan who is one of the figures in the Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab tauẖîd dakwah movement in Saudi Arabia.  Kata kunci: Tauẖîd, Education, Pesantren

Abstract

Abstract: This study is proposed to explore the feasibility aspect of a course book of Islamic studies and character based on curriculum 2013 in the perspective of Character Education of BSNP. Descriptive-evaluative research method is used in this research. Findings are gained in this study. First, of the feasibility aspect, overall material feasibility is considered appropriate but several parts need improvement. For example: in terms of material accuracy, several sources are invalid. Second, the feasibility aspect of the presentation as a whole is considered sufficient. However, several aspects related to the presentation need serious improvement. In the aspect of the feasibility of material presentation there are various findings need to be addressed, such as the presentation in the learning system aspect, independent learning system is mostly used and lack of collaborative learning implementation. This has an impact on students’ difficulty to work together. Third, of the aspect of language feasibility is good where in terms of writing skills, appropriate, correct, and polite Indonesian language standard is used. The Bahasa is politely used so there is no conflict with the norms in society, especially in character education applied in the Islamic education called Akhlakul Karimah (good attitudes). Keywords: Course Book, Curriculum 2013, Character Education.

Abstract

the senior high school of Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya is a school continually experienced various developments including in an effort to improve the performance of the teachers. SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya is a religion-based school in Karangpilang which experiences increasing number of students and community interest from year to year. It cannot be separated from the strategy and active role of the principal. This study aims to find out and explore what is the leadership strategy of school principals in improving teachers’ performance in SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya? And what are the supporting factors and obstacles of school principals in improving teachers’ performance in SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya? This is a qualitative research with descriptive approach. The process of data collection is done by using observation, interview and documentation. Data are collected and analyzed through several stages including data collection, reduction, and presentation then drawing conclusions in accordance with the scope of the problem. As the findings of this study, it can be concluded that: First, Principal Leadership Strategy in improving teacher performance in SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya consists of 9 strategies. Second, the supporting factors in this school environment consist of 3 factors and the inhibiting factors consist of 2 factors. The supporting factors are teacher education level, conducive climate, and mental condition of the teachers. The inhibiting factors are caused by internal and external factors. The internal factor is budget limitation while the external factor is the parents’ financial conditions. Keywords: Strategy, Leadership, Teachers’ Performance
