Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to find out and explore how does the headmaster implementit? what is the obstacle facing him? what strategy is done? This research usesfour approaches that are pedagogies, sociological, juridical and psychological.The sources of the data are primary and secondary. The instruments areinterviews, observation guides, check list observation, and documentation.The research techniques are data reduction techniques, data presentation, andconclusions. From the results of the research of school-based management inSMP Muhammadiyah 4 Gempol, it can be concluded: The headmaster hasimplemented school-based management but the implementation has not fullyimplement school-based management. The headmaster as a leader using SchoolBased Management still needs improvement and improvement of teacherquality and good cooperation with school partners. Constraints faced a) Lackof educational facilities and infrastructure b) lack of teacher competency c)lack of parental support of learning process, d) lack of intensive and maximalsocialization, e) lack of master of technology. Strategies undertaken inimplementing school-based management ie a) doing relationship with relevantagencies to provide the facilities and the infrastructure b) improving teachercompetence by involving teachers in trainings c) doing relationship withparents to improve the quality of education. The implications of this researchis expected for the headmasters and teachers to always perform their dutiesand functions respectively each other. To the teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah4 Gempol, to always strive to improve the professionalism of work for thequality of school education in particular and in general can be better. Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to identify: (1) the validity of the developed contextuallearning based textbook (2) practicality of the developed contextual learningbased textbook (3) effectiveness of the developed contextual learning basedtextbook to improve students’ critical and creative thinking ability. This studyused developement research design by adopting ADDIE model (Analysis,Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This study consistedof three stages: introduction, developement, and test of effetiveness. Thevalidity result of textbook from 36 expert’s assessment items showed that 22items were very suitable and 14 items were suitable. The textbook practicalitywas seen from checklist points achievement for contextual learning basedtextbook. The result of gain score analysis of students ‘critical thinking abilitywas 0.769 or categorized as high, meaning that the use of contextual learningbased textbook was effective to improve students’ critical thinking ability. Theresult of gain score analysis of students ‘creative thinking ability was 0.775 orcategorized as high, meaning that the use of contextual learning based textbookwas effective to improve students’ creative thinking ability

Abstract

AbstractThe senior high school of Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya is a school continuallyexperienced various developments including in an effort to improve theperformance of the teachers. SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya is a religion-based school in Karangpilang which experiences increasing number ofstudents and community interest from year to year. It cannot be separatedfrom the strategy and active role of the principal. This study aims to find outand explore what is the leadership strategy of school principals in improvingteachers’ performance in SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya? And what are thesupporting factors and obstacles of school principals in improving teachers’performance in SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya? This is a qualitative researchwith descriptive approach. The process of data collection is done by usingobservation, interview and documentation. Data are collected and analyzedthrough several stages including data collection, reduction, and presentationthen drawing conclusions in accordance with the scope of the problem. Asthe findings of this study, it can be concluded that: First, Principal LeadershipStrategy in improving teacher performance in SMA Muhammadiyah 4Surabaya consists of 9 strategies. Second, the supporting factors in this schoolenvironment consist of 3 factors and the inhibiting factors consist of 2 factors.The supporting factors are teacher education level, conducive climate, andmental condition of the teachers. The inhibiting factors are caused by internaland external factors. Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to know about the competence of teachers, and what theconcept of the Qur’an about the competence of teachers in Surat Al-QalamVerses 1 - 4. This research is a library review (library research) which isqualitative descriptive, using documentation techniques in data collection.While the method of data analysis used is the tafsir maudlu’iy method. Theresults show that: Firstly, the qualities that an educator must have are (a)zuhud not putting matter and teaching because of seeking God’s mercy; (b) tocleanse his body, away from sin and guilt, to escape from great sin, ridicity, envy,hostility, strife and other disgraceful nature; (c) Ikhlas in the work; (d) forgiving;(e) loving his disciples just as he loved his own son; (f) knowing the student’snature; (g) mastering subjects; (h) have competence in the ways of teaching.Second, the competence that must be owned by the teacher according to theQur’an letter Al-Qalam verses 1-4 is to have the personality as exemplified bythe Prophet Muhammad SAW, master and utilize information technology andcommunications for self-development and science and have the ability paperfor the development of science and communication media with others. Keywords: Competence of teachers, Concepts of the Qur’an, Tafseer of al-Alaq

AbstractCurrently, education management in Indonesia recognizes two mechanisms,namely centralization and decentralization system, in the centralized systemof education administration regulated by the central government. This studyaims to find out how the implementation of School Based Management(SBM) in KHM NUR Junior High School Surabaya, knowing what programsare implemented in KHM NUR Junior high School Surabaya and aims todetermine what factors that support and hinder the implementation of SchoolBased Management (SBM) in an effort to improve the quality of education atKHM NUR Junior High School Surabaya. The type of research used in thisstudy is Field Research, which is studying intensively about the background ofthe present state, in the interaction of a social, individual, group, institution,and society. Technique of data analysis used qualitative descriptive. Thefindings of this study can be concluded; first: Implementation of School BasedManagement (SBM) at KHM. NUR Junior High School Surabaya has beenwell scheduled. Second: The programs that have been implemented as theimplementation of School Based Management (SBM) in KHM. NUR JuniorHigh School Surabaya in academic and non-academic field. Third: Supportingand inhibiting factors in the implementation of School Based Management(SBM) in KHM. Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to reveal the thoughts possessed by the kyais and ustadzin Pesantren al-Mukmin on the tauhîd education, and their implementation.The method used in this reseach was qualitative. The results of this researchare as follows. Firstly, tauhîd is given a special attention since the main aimof education in the pesantren al-Mukmin Ngruki is to produce a muslimgeneration with pure tauhîd coloring all their lives. KH. Wahyudin and ustadzAbdurrahim Ba’asyir Lc understand tauhîd in line with Ibnu Taimiyah andMuhammad bin Abdul Wahab. Secondly, Tauhîd education in Pesantren al-Mukmin Ngruki using three methods of education; the doctrine of tauhîdvalues, understanding, and practice. Meanwhile the learning of tauhîd in thePesantren al-Mukmin Ngruki more adopted the concept of tauhîd proposedby Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab and Ibn Taimiyah since the books studiedin the halaqah program are written by Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab, whilethose studied in the learning of tauhîd in the class are written by Dr. ShalihFauzan who is one of the figures in the Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab tauhîddakwah movement in Saudi Arabia. Keywords: Tauhîd, Education, Pesantren

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine the role of teacher to student’s moralityeducation, the strategy of Al - Islam teacher to improve student morality, thesupporting factors and inhibitors in building student’s morality of 9 gradestudent in SMP Muhammadiyah 15 Surabaya. This study used descriptivequalitative method. The research data were collected by using observation,interview and documentation method, then analyzed by using inductiveapproach and validity test. The results indicated that: activities of moralformation that teachers do i.e. night prayer, tahfidz Qur’an, and dzuhur prayingin congregation. Teaching strategies of PAI Teacher used inquiry strategies,approached to student by using a variety of methods such as lecturing method,habituation method, and counseling method. The supporting factors: (a)family factors or parent who has very active role to participate in fosteringstudent’s morality, (b) environment or community around the school, (c) theenvironment around student’s residence has been thick with religious thing, (d)school’s rules to prevent student’s delinquency. Inhibiting Factors are (a) therewas no enough time to foster much morality on student. (b) Lack of school’sprovision. (c) Different student’s attitude and behavior. (d) Uncontrollablestudent association. (e) Lack of students’ awareness to attend activities requiredby the school. (f) Inadequate supporting facilities and infrastructures. Abstract

AbstractThis reseach aimed to determine the background of the emergence of streetchildren stayed Puri Indah shelter house of Sidoarjo. In addition, this reseachalso aimed to determine the pattern of communication that is formed, thesteps of assistance and the factors driving and inhibiting the implementation ofstreet child educational pattern. Qualitative descriptive research was done bycollecting data using interviews, observation, literature study and documents.The informant was chosen by using purposive sampling. Analytical techniquesused interactive analysis model which includes data collection, data reduction,data presentation and conclusion. From the research results could be seenthat the cause of the emergence of street children because of economic factors,family disorganization, street family dynasties and customs tangent with streetchildren. Responding to this Puri Indah shelter house of Sidoarjo madeeducation pattern to street children. The communication pattern formed inthis program is the formal communication seen at the time of routine learningand field study, non-formal communication seen in activity outside schooland is more relaxed. Non verbal communication seen from the response oflimbs of students. In connection with the interaction, there emerged a linearcommunication model, transactional and intransactional. The Puri Indahshelter house of Sidoarjo has innovative teaching methods both conductedby teachers and involving the active role of students. In order for our programto be more qualified, Puri Indah shelter house of Sidoarjo provided variousfacilities for students such as supporting books, bicycle, stationery library andpaying attention to their nutrition. Nevertheless there was no doubt there weresome weaknesses such as the arrogant nature of the students, the credibilityof teachers who had not maximized, the limited facilities of infrastructure.However it could be overcome with the spirit of all elements and support ofall parties. Keywords: Education, Parenting, Street Children

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to reveal the basis of the halaqah practice in the Pesantrenal-Islam Lamongan, the implementation of the learning and formation ofcharacter through halaqah, and the way the system may build Islamic personality.The method used in this reseach was qualitative. The results of this researchare as follows. Firstly, the halaqah practiced in the pesantren al-Islam was basedon the ideas presented by the kyais and the management as formulized inthe khiththah of the pesantren namely to have a rabbani generation with faithand sincerity, good morals, high spirituality, wide knowledge insights, healthyand strong physical condition, and readiness to make some propaganda aboutIslam. Secondly, the implementation of halaqah in Pesantren al-Islam maybe classified into two categories. (1) halaqah taklim, intended to give someinsights to the santries on the right aqidah and the correct worship. Theemployed techniques of the halaqah implementation were bandongan, soroganor the combination of the two. (2) halaqah tarbiyah, intended to build santriesto become muslims with noble morals and with some awareness and spirits ofteaching and of struggling Islam. The technique of the halaqah implementationis to give materials of tazkiyat al-nafs accompanied with ‘amaliah ibadah sunnah,and teaching and harakah materials and also guidance in reciting the HolyQur’an and in guiding the characters. Keywords: Halaqah, Character Building, Pesantren.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to describe and analyze critically about the role of religious teachers in overcoming juvenile delinquency students of SMA Negeri 4 Surabaya. The research was a qualitative research. The data collection conducted by conducting observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis in accordance with descriptive research conducted with induction mindset. The results showed: (1) The role of religious teachers against juvenile students is very good, because juvenile students needed the role of adults in shaping noble and good personality to avoid delinquency in big cities (2) some kind of delinquency conducted by SMA Negeri 4 Surabaya students included disobedient to parents and teachers, skipping school, and how to wear the uniform dressing less polite (3) The role of religious teachers in preventing juvenile delinquency was very important, religious teachers in preventing juvenile delinquency work together with teachers who as counseling guidance (BK) and the principal of SMA Negeri 4 Surabaya and community leaders, by doing preventive action, repressive and curative action.
