Abstract

Background: The nursing profession in Southeast Asia is facing growing complexity due to demographic shifts, changing disease patterns, and rising demands for high-quality care. Regional efforts to enhance workforce mobility and standardize qualifications have led to the development of core competencies in common nursing. However, the national implementation remains inconsistent. Purpose: This study aimed to compare national nursing competency frameworks across ASEAN countries and to assess their alignment with the ASEAN regional core competency framework. Methods: Qualitative document analysis was conducted using national nursing competency frameworks, policy reports, and regulatory documents published between 2010 and 2023. Data were analyzed through deductive coding against regional competency domains and inductive identification of structural and thematic variations. Results: The study reviewed ten national frameworks and found substantial variations in structure and emphasis. Domains related to ethics and clinical practice were commonly addressed, whereas leadership and research were less consistently included. More recent frameworks showed a stronger alignment with regional standards, while older ones reflected a limited competency scope. Key challenges include regulatory fragmentation, inconsistent assessment systems, and gaps in education capacity. Conclusion: The findings highlight the need for greater regional policy coordination, the development of shared assessment tools, and investment in capacity building. Harmonizing nursing competencies across ASEAN countries is essential for improving educational consistency, patient care quality, and professional mobility.

Abstract

Background: Teenage problems are increasing every year, starting from teenage fights, using drugs, consuming alcohol, smoking, and even cases of teenage pregnancy. Globally, the condition of health problems in adolescents is alarming. This is triggered by bad teenage behavior. This behavior can, among other things, reduce self-control and increase risky behavior such as engaging in casual sex which can result in unwanted pregnancies. School health unit or in Indonesian called UKS is expected to become a forum for improving students' abilities and skills in developing healthy living behavior. Purpose: The research aims to analyze the influence of school health services on adolescent reproductive health behavior. Methods: The research method was quantitative with a cross-sectional design. The population was 72 teenagers by total sampling. Data analysis used chi-square and multiple logistic regression. Results: The results showed statistical test comparison between Reproductive Health Behavior and Health Education, Health Services, and Environmental Development, respectively shows p-value = 0.014 (p< 0.05), 0.010 (p< 0.05), and 0.046 ( p < 0.05) which means Ha is accepted or there is a correlation between adolescent reproductive health behavior and health education, health services, and environmental development. The independent variable that influences reproductive health behavior has a value of 0.041 or <0.05. The multiple logistic regression test show that the health service variable has an Exp (B) value of 2.917. Conclusion: In conclusion, the adolescent reproductive health education, UKS health services, and environmental development have a 2.917 chance of influencing adolescent reproductive health behavior. Abstract

Background: Developing resilience among family caregivers of schizophrenia patients is challenging. Families must be able to identify risk factors and manage them to achieve a dynamic family situation and have the ability to survive while caring for schizophrenia patients. Protective factors interact with risk factors and create strength for families to be resilient in caring for people with schizophrenia. Results: T-statistics showed that there was an influence of family protective (p = 0.016) and family risk factors (p=0.003) on family caregivers’ resilience. Conclusions: Protective and risk factors of families with schizophrenia are the main resources in developing family caregivers’ resilience. To promote family health and effective adaptation to the schizophrenia long-term care, it is critical to improve family protective factors such as family functioning and social support and minimize family risk factors such as social stigma in schizophrenic families.

Abstract

Background: The increase in the number of home births highlights the importance of understanding the factors that influence access to health services for childbirth. Purpose: The aim of this scoping review was to identify the best evidence on factors influencing access to health services and choice to give birth at home. Methods: The database was searched from 2019 to 2024 from various databases, including PubMed, Science Direct, and Wiley. As well as using search engines such as Google Scholar and Research Rabbit and selecting them using Mendeley's help. Critical appraisal and data charts were adopted from the JBI checklist, including cross-sectional, case-control, and qualitative exploratory JBI. From the 1598 articles identified, only eleven met the inclusion criteria. Results: The results of this review identified three themes, including factors influencing access to health services for home birth, the impact of limitations and the main barriers faced by mothers. Conclusion: Access to health services for mothers who give birth at home is limited by various factors, including but not limited to geography, economy, education, socio-culture, and occupation, among others. Improving access to maternal health services should focus on more affordable facilities, better maternal and family health education, and socio-cultural changes that support delivery in health facilities. As a result, these barriers reduce the utilization of health facilities, which increases the risk of complications and maternal mortality.
