Abstract

Background: Healthcare Manguharjo, a key primary facility in Madiun City, faces challenges like long wait times and limited referrals. Purpose: This study examines how service quality and demographics affect patient satisfaction, aiming to improve care and ensure equitable access for underserved communities. Methods: A cross-sectional survey of 91 patients used SERVQUAL questionnaires to assess five service quality dimensions. Spearman correlation examined relationships with demographics and satisfaction, ensuring ethical protocols and participant confidentiality. Results: Service quality moderately correlated with satisfaction (r=0.308, p=0.003). Demographics showed weaker but significant influence (r=0.258, p=0.013). Patients praised staff friendliness and efficiency but highlighted needs for improved communication (e.g., clearer medical instructions) and facility cleanliness. Service quality significantly drives satisfaction, while demographics play secondary roles. Strengthening communication, modernizing facilities, and reducing administrative delays are recommended to address gaps. Conclusion: Future studies should explore longitudinal impacts of these interventions. Prioritizing patient-centered improvements can enhance Healthcare Manguharjo’s community health outcomes.

Abstract

Background: The mortality and morbidity rates in patients with traumatic head injuries are still high, caused by primary damage due to internal bleeding. Intracerebral hemorrhage is a common complication of traumatic brain injury. The severity of head injury patients is a predisposing factor that causes high mortality and morbidity rates. The presence of bleeding in the head affects the severity of the patient's injury, bleeding in the head will reduce blood flow to the head, which will cause decreased blood perfusion to the brain. In severe head injury, a hematoma of more than 50 mL is associated with higher mortality. Acute ICH (Intra Cerebral Haemoraghea) can be a catastrophic event with the mortality largely predicted by the hematoma size, location, and the patients' GCS  (Glasgow Coma Scale) on admission. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the location of intracerebral hemorrhage and the severity of head injury. Methods: This study uses a correlational analytical approach with a cross-sectional design, utilizing secondary data from medical records of patients with traumatic head injuries from January to December 2022. The calculation of severity using RTS (Revised Trauma Score). These three scores (Glasgow Coma Scale, Systolic Blood Pressure, Respiratory Rate) are then used to take the weighted sum by RTS = 0.9368 GCSP + 0.7326 SBPP + 0.2908 RRP Values for the RTS are in the range 0 to 7.8408. Scores range from 0-4. The study population was patients with moderate to severe traumatic head injuries. Data were analyzed using a correlation test based on Spearman's rank correlation. Results: The results showed a significant relationship between the location of head trauma lesions and the severity of head injury patients (p value = 0.008, correlation coefficient 0.378). Conclusion: Mortality and morbidity rates in patients with traumatic head injuries are still high, caused by primary damage due to internal bleeding.  The majority of patient with Trauma brain Injury is male and were in the productive age range ranging from 12-35 years. Epidural hematoma (EDH) is one of the most life-threatening lesions in patients with craniocerebral disease.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a transitional period marked by rapid physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes. Inability to manage these changes can lead to stress and negatively affect mental health, including anxiety, depression, and destructive behaviors. In Indonesia, the prevalence of mental health problems among adolescents continues to rise, particularly in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), where psychological well-being is often overlooked. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of video-based mental health education through the SAKTI Remaja mobile application in improving adolescents’ knowledge, attitudes, and mental health conditions in Islamic boarding schools. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test was used. A total of 80 students from a pesantren in Baron District, Nganjuk Regency, were selected using purposive sampling. The intervention was conducted over two weeks using the SAKTI Remaja app, which provided educational videos on emotional regulation, stress management, stigma, and help-seeking behavior. Instruments included the Adolescent Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire (AMHLQ), Mental Health Attitude Scale (MHAS), and Self-Reported Mental Health Condition Checklist. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: There was a significant improvement in knowledge (pre-test = 56.5; post-test = 82.5; p < 0.001), mental health attitudes (pre-test = 62.3; post-test = 75.2; p < 0.001), and a decrease in mental health symptoms (pre-test = 3.5; post-test = 2.1; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that video-based education through the SAKTI Remaja app effectively enhanced mental health literacy, promoted positive attitudes, and reduced psychological symptoms among adolescents in pesantren. Conclusion: The SAKTI Remaja application is an innovative and effective educational intervention for improving knowledge, attitudes, and mental health conditions among adolescents in Islamic boarding schools. This video-based education model offers a relevant promotive and preventive strategy that can be integrated into youth health programs in religious-based educational institutions.

Abstract

Background: Anemia is a major health concern among adolescents, particularly females, and is closely linked to prolonged menstrual bleeding, insufficient knowledge about anemia, and poor compliance with iron supplementation programs. These factors contribute significantly to the high prevalence of anemia, which can lead to decreased physical performance, impaired cognitive function, and reproductive health complications in later life. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between menstrual duration, level of knowledge about anemia, and compliance with the consumption of blood supplement tablets on the prevalence of anemia in adolescents. Methods: The research uses quantitative methods with a correlational analytical research design with a cross sectional approach. The population and sample in this research were 30 female students. Bivariate data analysis used the chi-square test with the help of SPSS 26. Results: The research results show that there is a relationship between Menstrual Length and Anemia in young women at SMA Negri 1 Kediri, (p value=0.023), there is a relationship between Knowledge and Anemia in young wo/men at SMA Negri 1 Kediri (p value = 0.042) and there is a relationship between compliance with blood supplement consumption and anemia in young women at SMA Negri 1 Kediri x (p value=0.023). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that menstrual duration, level of knowledge about anemia, and compliance with the consumption of iron supplement tablets are significant factors influencing the prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls. Among these, compliance with iron tablet consumption emerged as the most dominant factor, suggesting that behavioral aspects play a crucial role in anemia prevention. Additionally, limited knowledge about anemia and prolonged menstrual duration were also associated with a higher risk of anemia. These findings highlight the need for comprehensive health education programs that not only increase awareness about anemia but also promote consistent intake of iron supplements, particularly among adolescents. Effective interventions should prioritize improving knowledge and fostering positive health behaviors to reduce the incidence of anemia and support the overall well-being of young women.

Abstract

Background: Adolescent mental health issues are on the rise, posing significant concerns due to their impact on learning effectiveness and the need for focused attention. To address these challenges, innovative tools are required to detect and mitigate mental health problems among adolescents. One such innovation is the CERDAS application. Purpose: This study evaluated a web-based assessment using the CERDAS App, which combines three interventions: mental health education, the butterfly hug technique, and expressive writing in addressing depression, anxiety, and stress among adolescents. Methods: This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest method. A total of 94 adolescents were selected through purposive sampling from a high school in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS)-21, Indonesian version, was used as the questionnaire within the CERDAS application. Data collection began with a pretest administered via the CERDAS App. Adolescents identified as experiencing mental health problems (depression, anxiety, or stress) were provided with interventions including mental health education, butterfly hugs, and expressive writing. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis for frequency distribution and bivariate analysis with the Wilcoxon test. Results: The Wilcoxon test revealed significant improvements in the mental health status of adolescents (depression, anxiety, and stress) following the interventions, with p-values of 0.002, 0.008, and 0.001, respectively. Conclusion: The CERDAS application and its interventions demonstrate effectiveness in identifying and reducing adolescent mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, and stress. Consequently, the CERDAS App  and its interventions is recommended as a practical tool for adolescents to enhance their mental well-being.
