Abstract

Observations in class X.9 revealed that 68% of students scored below the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). This classroom action research aimed to improve students’ motivation and learning outcomes through the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach. The study was conducted in two cycles. The results indicated that the implementation of TaRL was effective in enhancing students’ academic achievement, with the average score increasing from 67.9 (pre-cycle) to 75.8 (cycle I) and 84.7 (cycle II). In addition, the percentage of students meeting the mastery criteria improved from 32% (pre-cycle) to 38% (cycle I) and 62% (cycle II). These findings suggest that the TaRL approach can improve students' understanding. However, TaRL may require more time when applied to students with low literacy skills. To address this limitation, teachers are encouraged to integrate TaRL with other instructional strategies, such as differentiated learning.

Abstract

This article examines presupposition in the story of Prophet Solomon and Queen Saba based on Surah An-Naml verses 20-44 with a qualitative approach and content analysis method. This research aims to identify the types of presupposition and analyze the communicative function and da'wah meaning contained in the verses. Based on George Yule's classification, six types of presupposition were found in 23 verses, namely: existential (26.09%), lexical (21.74%), active (17.39%), structural (17.39%), non-active (8.70%), and counterfactual (8.70%), Each type of presupposition plays a role in implicitly conveying da'wah messages, strengthening discourse structures, and framing ideological meanings that are unique to Qur'anic communication. This study shows that linguistic strategies in the Quran rely on explicit meaning and are full of implicit messages that can be revealed through a pragmatic approach. This finding is expected to enrich the treasures of linguistic interpretation and open up opportunities for the development of Islamic studies based on pragmatic analysis.

Abstract

Muhammad Abduh’s life was closely intertwined with modernization, yet his interpretations reveal gender biases that have not been addressed in previous research. Abduh’s views on the relationship between men and women in the household align with the structural-functional theory, which posits that role differentiation is linked to gender. Based on this problem, this paper examines the epistemological foundation employed by Muhammad Abduh in interpreting QS. An-Nisā’: 34, a verse often used to justify male superiority over women. This study employs a qualitative method with critical analysis using conflict theory, which, in the author’s view, is related to Marxist-Socialist feminist theory. The findings indicate that Muhammad Abduh utilized the burhani method and the adabi ijtima’i approach. Furthermore, to strengthen his arguments, Abduh employed linguistic analysis, munasabah ayat, the use of riwayat, and comparative analysis. From this interpretative flow, these two lines of thought lead to role inequality because everything is measured based on physical attributes or fitrah. QS. An-Nisā’: 34 should be understood based on two periods, namely the time of the Prophet and the modern era, so that a common thread can be drawn regarding the differences in social conditions between the two. Thus, an understanding based on gender in determining role differentiation cannot be maintained because role dominance is determined by the social conditions of society.

Abstract

This research shows that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by students of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) at UNINUS has become an integral part of their academic activities. AI is widely used, from helping students understand material and organize assignments to quickly answering various academic questions. On the one hand, the presence of AI offers many benefits in supporting the learning process, such as facilitating access to information and accelerating the achievement of academic results. However, on the other hand, a serious challenge has emerged, namely the tendency for students to rely on instant solutions without a deep reflective process

Abstract

Child sexual violence is an increasingly disturbing crime issue and a social emergency in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the legal assistance process for child victims of sexual violence in Palangka Raya City. Using normative legal research methods with a statutory and conceptual approach, this study examines the legal framework for child protection and compares it with field practices. Data was collected through a literature review of various documents, laws, and relevant literature. The results indicate that the legal assistance mechanism for child victims of sexual violence in Palangka Raya City, through Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2021, has demonstrated structured and comprehensive progress, ranging from assessment and cross-agency coordination to trial assistance and post-trial rehabilitation. However, its effectiveness still faces challenges, including limited human resources, suboptimal coordination, and social stigma. Then, according to the perspective of Islamic law, it is necessary to strengthen the maqashid al-syari'ah (hifz an-nafs and hifz al-'irdh) because child sexual violence is a serious crime that must be dealt with firmly and rehabilitated, so that this regulation is in line with the principles of Islamic justice in protecting children as a mandate from Allah SWT.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the understanding of Islamic law regarding polygamy from a gender perspective, focusing on the comparison between classical jurisprudence (fiqh) teachings and contemporary interpretations. Polygamy is a complex issue in Islamic law, often sparking debates about gender justice, women's rights, and its relevance in modern social contexts. The research employs a qualitative approach with a critical analysis of classical fiqh texts and contemporary scholars' views. The findings reveal that classical fiqh teachings tend to position women in subordinate roles, emphasizing obedience to husbands. However, contemporary perspectives influenced by gender equality principles and maqasid al-shariah offer new insights that prioritize justice and the protection of women's rights. The study concludes that a gender-based approach can provide more relevant and equitable interpretations of Islamic law on polygamy for modern societies. It also identifies challenges in integrating gender equality principles into Islamic legal understanding, particularly amidst cultural resistance and conservative interpretations.

Abstract

Motivation is a strong desire that arises within a person. In Herzberg's motivation theory, there are two factors: motivational factors and maintenance factors (hygiene factors). Motivation factors consist of job satisfaction, appreciation, responsibility, achievement, and job satisfaction. Meanwhile, maintenance factors include policies and administration, supervision, relationships with coworkers, working conditions, and salary or benefits. Motivation factors play a role in fostering work enthusiasm among educators. In addition, good relationships with coworkers and good working conditions also affect work performance. This study aims to identify the extent to which motivation can influence the work performance of educators at MIN 2 Bandung City when reviewed using Herzberg's motivation theory. The method used in this study was qualitative, with observations at the target madrasah or school, interviews with educators, and documentation in the form of images as additional data. The results revealed that the educators' motivation was built from within each individual. While some of Herzberg's maintenance factors are considered influential, many educators at MIN 2 Bandung City have their own unique motivations to become educators for the younger generation.
