Abstract

This research aims to explore the integration of Islamic values and science in the education system and its impact on the formation of noble students. . Methods This research is a qualitative research with a literature study approach. The data used in this research is in the form of document data, both from textbooks, scientific journals, and other relevant document sources. The results showed that teachers play an important role as role models and facilitators in instilling the principles of integration. Overall, this integration helps students develop into balanced individuals, possessing intelligence and moral goodness, and ready to contribute positively in society.

Abstract

Forgetfulness is one of the inherent traits of humans. It can occur because information stored in the brain has been replaced or obscured by new information. Forgetting is initially beyond human control because it is located in a part of the brain called the hippocampus, which functions to regulate memory or process information received by human senses. However, it is different from "deliberate forgetting," which is intentionally done to erase something from memory. Islam views forgetfulness as a natural human trait. However, it is different when humans forget their Lord. This happens when they are overpowered by Satan. These devils prevent humans from following the path of Allah, making them negligent in remembering Him and instead following Satan’s ways and their desires. What is even worse is when humans intentionally forget or deny Allah despite the clear warnings sent to them. The purpose of this study is to analyze the terms al-dhikr and al-nasiya and examine the spiritual consequences of forgetting Allah in the Qur’an. The method used in this research is the thematic method (mawdu’i), relying on library-based data sources. The term al-dhikr carries several meanings, including remembrance, prayer, scripture, warning, and lesson. Meanwhile, al-nasiya means forgetfulness or deliberate forgetting. The consequence of forgetting or deliberately ignoring Allah is that on the Day of Judgment, Allah will abandon them to a severe and eternal punishment.

Abstract

In the midst of efforts to build a more inclusive and equitable economic system, cash waqf has emerged as a strategic alternative in encouraging sustainable local economic growth. As an Islamic social financial instrument, cash waqf has high flexibility and great potential in bridging the role of the community in financing development, especially in productive sectors such as MSMEs, education, and health services. This study uses a qualitative approach based on literature studies to examine how the cash waqf management mechanism can be optimized to empower the community economy. The results of the study show that although there is a regulatory framework and initiatives such as the National Cash Waqf Movement (GNWU), its implementation still faces challenges in the form of low community literacy, limited manager capacity (nazhir), and minimal incentives for waqf. However, through accountable governance, utilization of digital technology, and development of waqf investment schemes such as Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS), cash waqf has the potential to become a driving force for economic development based on spiritual and social values. This study recommends strengthening waqf institutions, increasing public education, and integrating cash waqf into regional economic policies to create broader and more sustainable social impacts.

Abstract

The phrase “Nurun ala Nurin" (نورٌ على نور) from Surah An-Nur (24:35) in the Qur'an is often interpreted as a symbol of spiritual enlightenment within Islamic tradition. The literal meaning of this phrase is "Light upon Light," which points to a deeper understanding of the concept of light in the metaphysical context of Islam. The study Exploring the Meaning of Nurun Ala Nurin: A Philosophical Exegesis on Divine Light in the Qur'an, employs a qualitative approach using literature review methodology. This research analyzes data from both classical and contemporary tafsir (Qur'anic exegesis), utilizing comparative and interpretative methods to uncover a deeper understanding of the concept of “Nurun ala Nurin" within Islamic thought. The study concludes that, firstly, the philosophical interpretation of “Nurun ala Nurin" reveals that the light not only refers to intellectual enlightenment but also to inner illumination that leads to closeness to God and a higher level of understanding. Secondly, while classical and contemporary tafsirs adopt different approaches, both agree that “Nurun ala Nurin " refers to the divine guidance granted to the believers.

Abstract

Values such as honesty, trust, justice, ukhuwah and social concern are basic principles that should color economic activities in the pesantren environment. However, in practice, the internalization of these values often faces various obstacles, ranging from weak value-based managerial systems, low human resource capacity, to challenges from modernization flows and increasingly complex economic competition. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods that include interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects in this study came from the Al-Amien Prenduan Economic and Facilities Bureau, the Chairman of the Al-Amien Prenduan Kopontren, the Secretary and Treasurer. The data validity verification methods applied in this study are source triangulation and technique triangulation. The process of internalizing Islamic values in the Al-Amien Prenduan Kopontren is the main foundation in building a religious and sustainable pesantren economy through the cultivation of morals, character, responsibility, Islamic education and discipline. Despite being faced with challenges such as maintaining the consistency of Islamic values in business practices as well as limited capital and infrastructure, Kopontren still shows a strong commitment to upholding sharia business ethics and continues to strive to make improvements in order to maintain the competitiveness and sustainability of its business.

Abstract

The development of increasingly sophisticated technology has affected people's habits in accessing information, marked by the abandonment of print media by switching to digital media that can be connected to fast and diverse access to information. The use of digital media for Islamic boarding schools is not only a promotional medium, but also a means of da'wah and education for the community. This research uses a qualitative approach, as well as data collection methods in the form of interviews, observations and documentation. The validity checking techniques used in this study are: source triangulation and technique triangulation. The digital strategies used by the Al-Amien Prenduan Islamic Boarding School are personal branding of the Islamic boarding school, alumni ambassador marketing, fast information accessibility, viral content and influencer collaborative marketing. Meanwhile, digital marketing innovations carried out by the Al-Amien Prenduan Islamic Boarding School are in the form of optimizing the use of social media features, websites and interactive social media as well as upgrading human resources and digital media technology.

Abstract

Amid modernization, digitalization, and secular humanism, contemporary Islamic education faces a widening gap between intellectual achievement and moral-spiritual formation. Prior studies have examined isolated dimensions of Imam Al-Ghazali's educational thought, such as character formation or the balance of knowledge and faith, but few have systematically linked his biography with a thematic mapping of his pedagogical concepts and their present-day relevance. This study addresses that gap by examining Al-Ghazali's thought on Islamic education, tracing its formation through his biography, and assessing its contemporary relevance. Using a qualitative library research method, primary sources such as Ihya' Ulum al-Din and Ayyuha al-Walad were analyzed and synthesized. Findings show Al-Ghazali's pedagogy is a coherent, operational framework, integrating knowledge and practice with intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions, anticipating the fragmentation between academic competence and character formation still unresolved today. This holistic model offers a substantive solution for restoring moral direction to Islamic education amid globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic education as a social instrument in breaking the cycle of poverty in society and to identify the Islamic values that are internalized through Islamic education and contribute to the development of a work ethic, self-reliance, and social solidarity among the poor, as well as to analyze the most effective conceptual model for integrating Islamic educational values with socio-economic strategies to break the cycle of poverty sustainably. The approach used is qualitative library-based research, examining various academic and empirical literature. The research findings indicate that Islamic educational institutions play a role in strengthening social awareness and fostering robust spirituality as a bridge to breaking the cycle of poverty. Islamic values such as hard work, self-reliance, and sosial solidarity are internalized through Islamic education to cultivate religious and productive individuals. An effective conceptual model in Islamic education emphasizes value-based transformative education, socio-economic empowerment, and sustainable multisectoral collaboration; an Islamic spiritual-economic approach; a contextual and participatory multisectoral collaboration framework; and the integration of a values-based curriculum with practical social experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Muhammadiyah in the development of progressive Islamic education and identify the challenges faced in its implementation at the Al Ikhlas Tolobali Islamic Boarding School in Bima City. The focus of the study is directed at aspects of educational institutional development, educational programs, integration of religious knowledge and general knowledge, and educational management. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research type. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis is based on three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity is through member check, cross check, and method triangulation techniques. The results of the study indicate that Muhammadiyah plays a significant role in the development of progressive Islamic education at the Al-Ikhlas Tolobali Islamic Boarding School in Bima City through strengthening tiered educational institutions, developing superior programs such as Tahfidzul Qur'an and santri entrepreneurship, integrating religious knowledge and general knowledge in the curriculum, and implementing more modern and transparent educational management. The challenges faced are limited human resources, low utilization of learning technology, and limited supporting facilities and infrastructure. These findings emphasize the need for strategies to strengthen human resources, technology-based learning innovations, and support facilities to optimally realize progressive Islamic education.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah’s economic movement constitutes an important dimension of the organization’s role as a socio-religious movement oriented toward improving the social conditions of the Muslim community. This article aims to systematically analyze how the Muhammadiyah economic movement is developed and implemented within a philosophical perspective. The research employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing relevant journal articles. The findings indicate that the Muhammadiyah economic movement is built upon an ideological foundation reflected in the Al-Ma’un theology, the principles of ijtihad and tajdid, and the paradigm of Progressive Islam. This movement is manifested through the socio-economic empowerment of the community, the management of Muhammadiyah Business Ventures (Amal Usaha Muhammadiyah) as an institutional basis, and the development of community entrepreneurship. The review also reveals that Muhammadiyah’s economic movement faces various contemporary socio-economic challenges, which require institutional strengthening and adaptive empowerment strategies. Overall, the findings confirm that the Muhammadiyah economic movement represents a socio-religious practice that integrates Islamic values with institutional engagement and community economic empowerment in responding to modern socio-economic challenges.
