Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors influencing consumer interest in visiting coffee shops in Medan. This study focused on five main variables: product quality, price, service, atmosphere, and product innovation. The research sample was determined based on the minimum criteria for multiple linear regression analysis, which was at least 5–10 times the number of research variable indicators, resulting in a sample size of 50 respondents. Respondents were coffee shop consumers in Medan who had visited Baraka, Sekata, Heloki, and Dominico coffee shops. Consumer interest in visiting coffee shops was primarily influenced by service quality and atmosphere, while product quality played a smaller role. Price and product innovation were insignificant, indicating that experience and comfort were more important. Therefore, coffee shops in Medan should focus on improving service, product quality, and atmosphere rather than lowering prices or increasing innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of domestic debt and external debt on Indonesia’s economic growth during the period 2004–2023. The research employs a quantitative explanatory approach using the multiple linear regression method (OLS). The results indicate that domestic debt has a significant negative effect on economic growth, while external debt has a significant positive effect. These findings suggest that an increase in domestic debt may suppress economic growth through the crowding-out effect, whereas external debt can foster economic growth when allocated to productive sectors. This study underscores the importance of a balanced debt management strategy to support sustainable development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of perceived value on WOM on McDonald's products during Palestine washing, with purchase attitude and loyalty as mediators. This study uses a quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires distributed to respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results show that perceived value has a direct and indirect effect on WOM through purchase attitude and loyalty. Purchase attitude acts as a significant mediator, where a positive purchase attitude increases consumers' tendency to spread WOM. In addition, loyalty is also an important mediator, with loyal consumers more likely to recommend McDonald's after Palestine washing. This study provides new insights for companies in managing social issue-based marketing strategies to optimize positive WOM by increasing perceived value, purchase attitude, and consumer loyalty. This study also offers a unique perspective on how global brands can build trust and remain competitive amidst the challenges of social issues.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the eco cost and determine the environmental impact of the CPO (Crude Palm Oil) production process and find suggestions for green manufacturing improvements in the CPO production process at PT XYZ. The research method used is the life cycle assessment (LCA) method through 4 (four) stages, namely: goal and scope definition; life cycle inventory; life cycle impact assessment; and interpretation. Furthermore, eco efficiency calculations are carried out to produce an eco cost value. The results of the study showed that the eco cost value of PT XYZ was Rp. 1,997,127. The potential impacts found were acidification, eutrophication, global warming, human toxicity, and photochemical oxidation. Global Warming is the biggest impact resulting from the CPO production process, which is 5.22 × 10^(-11) kg CO2 eq. With the use of diesel fuel as the most impactful material unit. Therefore, the proposed improvements given are utilizing empty fruit bunches and POME liquid waste as fuel and renewable energy and implementing a co-firing system to reduce emissions resulting from the CPO production process.
